The Great George

I really enjoyed my stay at this lovely boutique hotel in the best location of the town. It is difficult for me to find right words to say how touched and gratefull I am for all the staff performance. They are dedicated,polite, smiling and always keen to assist the guests. The interior design and decarion are really attractive. I had a very bad experience upon arrival at the airport by swoop flight and my luggage was not delivered, I left the airport frustrated and angry, but these amazing people at the reception really helped me, they did their best to accomodate me earlier than usual check in time. I really enjoyed the free tea coffe in lobby and drink in happy hours. Breakfast items were limited but very healthy and fresh. As a frequent traveler, I rarely rate a hotel 10 out 10, but this time The Great Goeroge really deserve it. A big thank you to Manager and hotel team.Appreciated.

I wish, I could have a safe in the room.

Perfect location really close to everything. The staff were very friendly. We chose the romantic getaway room which was beautifully laid out and very comfortable. There was a great selection for breakfast. Nice extras like free coffee and cookies were appreciated.

Although breakfast was great, everyone was sat in lounge chairs with coffee/game tables. If a little of the furniture could be removed and 3-4 small tables placed in the room, breakfast would have been more comfortable. It didn't matter to us so much, but someone with limited movement could find it difficult.

The Inn is lovely and the location is wonderful.

I believe, and so did the 7 other people in our party, that while the breakfast is delicious and plentiful the Inn needs to create a true breakfast room. Having all the guests sit around the lobby and other rooms and hope that there is room to sit, especially with a large group or family, is frustrating and often unavailable. Added to that people are also trying to checkout, staff is trying you fill breakfast foods and remove old dishes.

We had a wonderful stay at the Great George. We used this hotel as a base for a cycling trip across PEI, staying four nights in total at the hotel. The hotel rooms are sumptuous, luxurious, comfortable, and ooze Canadian history. But what makes a stay at the Great George so special is the staff. The staff are extremely helpful and kind. They set the bar for what hospitality should be like. So, a great thank-you from the two of us. We can't wait to visit again.

From the minute we walked in we were treated like friends. The hotel is beautiful and very tastefully decorated. it’s centrally located to walk to the Confederation Center and a whole bunch of other restaurants. They had a welcome cocktail hour with bartender offering first craft beer/wine free and the second half price and the atmosphere was very convivial - people actually met and conversed. Our room, bed linen, shower were all top rate room amenities and parking was free and easy. We were very comfortable! The complimentary full breakfast the next day was equally enjoyable - all of this and the welcoming hotel staff made The Great George a place we would easily want to return to!

We loved everything

The location is excellent. The staff were helpful and courteous. There was a large variety of foods for breakfast. The free afternoon chocolate chip cookie was a delight to come back to after touring the island. And the weekend 5 à 7 wine or beer was a pleasant surprise.

It is difficult to find something not to like. The only tiny problem was that the bathtub plug allowed some water leakage. A new plug was needed.

Location is fantastic, on a Main Street blocks from restaurants and the waterfront. Was great having direct access from the street too. One of the comfiest beds I’ve ever had at a hotel. Breakfast had a great selection too.

My room could have done with a shelf in the bathroom for a little more storage. Aircon was a little loud if you are a soft sleeper.

The Great George is a one-of-a-kind property that is staffed by amazing people who are most accommodating. The breakfast offerings are extensive and nobody leaves hungry. We also enjoyed the afternoon wine socials. Located across the street from the St. Dunstan's Basilica in Charlottetown, this is the must-see church on PEI. Everything in Charlottetown is within easy walking distance from The Great George.

Not a thing. This place is perfection.

The staff were exceptional. A small problem with our first room was handled brilliantly and to our total satisfaction. Small details such as happy hour at 5pm, free coffee and cookies at 3pm, a variety of interesting games available in the lounge which itself was exceptionally comfortable, all made this stay memorable. Our room was excellent, as was breakfast. The location and style of the hotel were both brilliant.

Location was great, you are in the heart of the city and can really feel the heritage of the area in this very period set decoration.

Parking was difficult at times however the hotel does have 2 park lots to use. Upon arrival it is hard to find, recommend parking on the street nearby until you get checked in.
