April 2022
The room was average size but comfortable in a good area. It had soaps in the bathroom and the TV was big (cable only though). Felt safe and would reccommend.
The price was $100 more than when I reserved. There was no elevator so carrying all my stuff up 4 flights wasn't fun. The front desk was only open until 7pm so I had to go across the street to the sister hotel to checkout. There no parking except for on the street but I didnt get a ticket.

The location is really good. The room size is comfortable for one to two persons. Breakfast variety is good.
The room was too warm overnight. I tried adjusting the temperature, but that didn't change things. The thermostat didn't work. I kept the Window open but as it was a warm night in Montreal, the room was warm as well. It is a walk up building and you have to go across the street to another hotel to check in. There's no explanation why that is the case given that there's a reception in this hotel as well. But I guess for this price at this location there's bound to be a trade-off. The lighting in the room was not very bright. Beautiful light fixtures but not very bright.

The room was comfortable and quiet. The reception staff were helpful. The location was ideal, near to the centre but not in the midst of downtown traffic. The transport links were good , and there was an intimate quality lacking in larger corporate-style hotels.
The breakfasts could have been more varied. They were not cooked, but served cold. The staff at Reception seemed under pressure at times, with queues forming in the entrance lobby occasionally. Also, Reception was not always staffed, so that guests had to go across the road to another hotel to get assistance. Also, it seemed a bit expensive to me for what it was, but that may be because the GB pound was unusually low against the CAN dollar at the time.

Great hotel! Small but mighty. Room was small but well laid out, bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept on in a hotel, continental breakfast was a real treat, a nice break from the "waffle" bar so many chain restaurants use....only challenge is the lack of an elevator meant a lot of stair climbing but with that said... we would definitely stay there again if we are in Montreal!
Lack of an elevator. Really nothing else negative to say about our stay.

We came for our wedding and the decor was perfect for classy wedding photos, my room 220 on 1st floor could actually see the notary office so perfect location and extra salon for bridesmaids & photography. Front desk staff was excellent! Bathroom was amazing for getting ready & beds were very comfy too.
No breakfast “because of COVID”, but we brought our own (mini fridges & nespresso in rooms were great!). Also, we left all our cash as tip for housekeeping so when valet came we had none left and he made us feel very awkward, to the point we couldn’t remember if he had actually handed over our key when we got home (I had used my 2nd to drive) because he insisted on loading our bags etc even though I asked for it right away and told him we didn’t need help (I knew we had no cash for a tip). Not a nice way to end an amazing trip!

Very clean and well maintained for an old building. The staff were very friendly and as helpful as possible. Valet gentleman were amazing!
We had two rooms booked and only one available at checkin. There was a very large volume of guests checking in and many rooms were not available, so things got a little chaotic. all related to staff shortages I’m sure. However, I believe it was the night manager, arrived and did a fantastic job of getting things in order. he was very calm, very professional and very effective. the air conditioning in my room did not work. I tried calling front desk a couple times and couldn’t get an answer. I knew they were very busy and the fan in the room was fine, so I did not make a big deal about it.

very charming, the fireplace is electric but it add a good mood in the room, and of course some heat. The Valley parking was also amazing, very friendly staff!

Excellent location, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, AC, blackout curtains, surprisingly quiet (given that it's on Sherbrooke). Very professional, courteous, friendly, helpful staff. Historical, charming, nice touches like sculptures and art
Not an issue for me on this visit, but potentially problematic for anyone with mobility issues as there is no elevator

the hotel looks lovely and the facilities are perfectly fine for a 2-night stay - you just have to be prepared for a hike up the stairs with your luggage:)
the parking situation being first-come first-serve (plus one you have to pay for) is a bit annoying; I'd also say it's the first time in ages I've stayed at a place that actually takes a deposit during your stay... (why? in case of damages??)

Our location was very good. The building was secure, clean and quiet. The staff were great and accommodating. When we checked out, across the street at sister hotel, they picked up our luggage for us and called a cab. Everyone was accommodating. House keep was wonderful!
Our safe wasn’t working when we arrived. It wasn’t fixed during our stay but we didn’t have any problems with safety of our belongings in the safe.
