The location was fairly close to the airport. We landed after the free shuttle provided by the accommodations. We took a taxi instead. It was about 4000 colones. They were polite and prompt, asking the time that we would like breakfast and the shuttle to go back to the airport to pick up our rental car. For the convenience and value, I would stay there again!

There isn't anything we didn't like specifically. Breakfast isn't anything special - eggs, toast, coffee, fruit. The jam was delicious! Coffee is a little watered down, best to go for orange juice! Again, no specific complaints that is enough to set us back!

I enjoyed being able to purchase nearly $60 worth of souvenirs at the gift shop. I appreciated the shuttle driver Barnaby he was great! I liked the proximity to the airport. I loved the patio and the way the rooms let out to the patio. I appreciated breakfast. I loved the fact that I could walk to the local mall. The art 🖼️ was fantastic! The mother that makes the 3D art is amazing with her talent! I appreciated the staff answering my questions promptly and getting the shuttle to me! That Barnaby is an asset!

Ants 🐜 were coming after a dead bug on the floor. I got it up. I was bitten by little black bug in bed and an ant I killed in my bed. So, I’m not sure how that can be dealt with. You want non toxic sprays if used so organic like chamomile. Id have enjoyed having access to a community refrigerator and microwave area without having to bother staff to store or heat food as a guest. There’s areas that could be set up. I appreciated the staff storing food for me and heating food for me however! Other than that all was good.

Someone picked us up from the airport, even though it was already pretty late, so that was very nice. The room was just ok, but they're upgrading the hotel, so it should be much better in the next few months. Beds a little hard, but I found that to be true for most hotel beds throughout Costa Rica. Pillows were good though. Staff was kind, great breakfast which was included. Proximity to the airport and the car rental place we rented from was great.

We were woken up early by workers who were in the room next door as they're upgrading the hotel, but that should just be temporary.

We needed a hotel to relax after a long flight and further travel. We were greeted, even though it was already very late-a big thank you to the hotel staff and the driver. We took a room for three with my husband and dad. All necessary amenities-fan, towels, water for guests, In the morning, a standard Costa Rican breakfast. We don't eat meat and dairy products, so we ate fruit, and my dad ate all the meat) In the morning, with a transfer driver, we drove to the airport, from where we had already rented a car. A quiet hotel where in the morning we saw hummingbirds and heard the polyphony of birds) Already at 5 in the morning, the locals woke up and therefore could not sleep longer) Conversations, laughter. At this time it is already light and a reason for us to adjust to earlier climbs.

First we stayed at this Hotel twice - our first night and our last night in Costa Rica. We were met at the airport with the beautifully painted Melrose Shuttle the first night. We were helped up a couple of flights of stairs by the staff carrying our luggage. Bed was very comfortable and quiet at night and we slept very well. The fresh breakfast on the patio just outside our door was just wonderful as was the service. We watched humming birds other colorful birds! Carol at the desk downstairs helped me a lot with learning how to use colones and convert US dollars to the correct bills and coins for the first time. Second time we were given a VERY large double room upstairs with two queen beds, TV on a dresser, table with chairs, coffee service, bathroom and shower for same price as the first night. They provided us their free shuttle back to the airport the next morning. No time for their fabulous breakfast and make our 8:30 am flight. Again we slept very well and bed was comfortable. All in all we liked the Melrost Airport Bed and Breakfast.

First night's room (#7?) was VERY small and bed was up against the wall and you need to know about the stairs. Room was was missing an outlet next to the bed so cell phone had to sit on the floor to charge. No easy place to set luggage although there was room for a luggage rack. Had to use the bed to open the suitcase. This room would be just fine for a single traveler or a parent and child traveling light. No chair in the room. Bathroom and shower were fine.

Nice little spot with a free shuttle to the airport. When I arrived, I went to use my credit card and it wasn't working. Turns out it was frozen due to a fraud attempt! I was able to go to the nearby City Mall to get a phone call and call the bank. It was eventually sorted. The Melrost staff were helpful and patient. They also allowed me to store my luggage there at the end of my trip despite not renting a room. Very king especially after a bit of a challenging trip.

I wish they had a land line where I could've called my bank from, but I doubt many Costa Rican hotels do!

Good location - we just stayed one night before flying home. Very near the airport and there is a free shuttle to take you at the time you want. We only explored the nearby shopping mall (which is big and useful for last minute souvenirs).

Nothing - it did what we needed it to do. Breakfast was simple and no choice, but well cooked (eggs and toast). Renovations were taking place while we were there, so there was some noise disturbance.

Melrost Airport Bed & Breakfast offers great accommodation for newcomers. The staff is very friendly, and it offers a pick-up and drop-off service from San Jose Juan Santamaria Airport. A service that is really helpful, especially since the airport can be very confusing. The bilingual communication is also good. Furthermore, the staff is helpful in advising you on further travel in Costa Rica. Also, there is a big mall close to the hotel, reachable on foot in 10min There is nothing to complain about in terms of service.

The pickup service was not there at first, despite advance communication, which was a bit surprising. But was perhaps due to different arrival times of the other hotel guests. Furthermore, a few furnishing stands such as the toilet were a bit loose. The area of the hotel location is not particularly pretty.

BEatifull enviroment place, with gentil and carefull staff, near to the shopping and airport. Good quality-price. Breakfast could be more varied

The inability to take advantage of the transfer, either to the airport or to San Juan, as indicated on the booking site, as it is not available. The cleanliness of the bathroom and the lack of a soap holder in the shower. Details that can be improved but that do not spoil the pleasant stay

We stayed at Awa Hotel whilst on our honeymoon and the staff here made it wonderful. We arrived a couple hours before check in and they allowed us to relax and eat at the hotel whilst our room was being prepared. Throughout our trip the staff called us by our names and pointed out to us any animals that were in the trees such as Sloths and Howler Monkeys. The hotel had contacts to great spa massage treatments which are private in your room. We both had a deep tissue massage and it was the best massages we’ve ever had. The hotel also offers private tours with a local guide. We went on a tour to Cahuita national park, followed by a visit to an indigenous area where we learnt and made chocolate followed by a waterfall hike. This trip was absolutely amazing, it was ourselves and two other guests who went on the trip, essentially making it a private tour. During our stay, my husband unfortunately developed food poisoning (not by the hotel but from some street food) and the staff was very helpful. They allowed us to have a late check out and arranged our taxis to the hospital. The following morning I had to get my husband’s medicine from the hospital and the owner of the hotel personally drove me to the hospital and an ATM to get cash. We received an outstanding level of customer service, better then any other 5 star hotel we have visited. We are both very impressed with our stay and the amount of support provided to us from the hotel. They are very friendly and we will definitely be visiting them again in the future.
