We had booked this property through booking.com seven months ago and received a good room rate with it. We actually stayed with its sister hotel at the beginning of our week in Dubrovnik ( they are on the same site and share facilities). We went to stay on an island for three nights and our final night was back in this hotel. We had given them notice verbally at reception and in writing ( two times) that we were a late check in due to the arrival time of the return boat. We had paid in full and we were confirmed. We arrived to be told they had cancelled our room and they booked us into another. They provided a taxi to it but it was not beachfront and in our view facility wise a lesser standard of hotel. It ruined the last night of our holiday as we knew the area - where the bus went from, pools, where to walk to local restaurants from the Neptun hotel. We arrived to an hotel, unsure of where things were and the room we were given did not have a balcony as we had booked. We lodged a complaint with the hotel afterwards but to no avail. A disingenuous offer of a discount on our next stay was offered( when we lived abroad and were not returning to Croatia).

I didn’t like that the hotel could cancel a confirmed, paid for room with ample notice of a late check in without any correspondence with the customer until they arrived to check in.

We had a beautiful suite on the 4th floor with a sea view. The room had everything you could want for a fantastic stay e.g. kettle, fridge, tv, safe, toiletries The bed was so comfortable and bed linen and pillows were luxurious. Great food on offer for breakfast with an option to eat inside or outdoors on the terrace with a sea view. The spa and spa pool area was great. Friendly and courteous staff. A bus stop (2 minutes walk from the hotel) with a bus running every 15 minutes into Dubrovnik. A short 15 minute trip for €2. You can walk into Lapad on the seafront promenade.

Very Clean, lovely room, nice balcony, big tv that we watched an hour or 2 of before bed at night. Air conditioned room. No insects. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Good choices of food for breakfast & dinner. Different swimming pools, outdoor & 1 indoor. The sea very close to hotel, no beach, I was able to swim by walking down steps on ladder into the sea. Bus into the Old Town 5 mins walk from hotel, going every 10 mins. Lots of trips that hotel will organise for you. The hotel organised our trip to Kotor, Montenegro, which included a boat trip around the largest bay on the Adriatic sea. The boat brought us to the beautiful Lady of the Rock. A lovely Old Town in Kotor, similar to Old Town Dubrovnik.

Probably the only downside, supermarket 1 mile walk, lots of bars & restaurants along that walk.

Some of the reviews of this hotel describe the breakfast as poor and chaotic - we found the breakfast to be varied and full of choice. It’s not a typical Irish or English breakfast but it’s typical Croatian/European. Everything was incredibly fresh and plentiful. The staff were incredibly polite and amendable at all times. The location is breathtaking and the view from the room was stunning. Numerous pools and an infinite number of spots/sun beds to sun bathe from. Being able to step from a hotel sun lounger straight into the sea was a joy. We would both return again in a heart beat.

I don’t believe there is any real or fair criticism that can be made. Except maybe that the mojitos had too much undissolved sugar in them (so not made with sugar syrup) but this seemed to be a theme in Croatia! It’s maybe a 10 min drive from the Old Town but Ubers were immediately accessible and never cost more than €15 and normally around €8. The location further out is more than made up for by the immediate access to the sea from the hotel and the number of pools and extensive grounds.

All was good, we chose it because we had our honeymoon here 8th years ago and was amazing.

We booked and paid a room with see view, but we only get view of the sea from balcony and this was a partial view:( . When we complained at reception they said that this is actually still sea view :((( . Very disappointed about this way of answering. They should mention this when you actually do the booking. That the sea view can be partially and only from balcony so you know upfront for what you actually paid and not be disappointed ☹️ when you get it. We didn’t let this unpleasant aspect to ruin our revisit of Dubrovnik, which is an amazing place. We for sure will come again, but definitively will choose another property to stay.

This resort is situated in a beautiful location. Waking up to the Adriatic Sea every morning is a treat. The breakfast buffet had so many options which were always topped up. The staff at this resort is extremely efficient at keeping everything clean, tidy and well stocked. At the same time, you don't feel like they're hovering. For us, this was the trip of a lifetime.

I'm struggling to find something I didn't like. Sure, the price is rather steep, but you get what you pay for. This resort delivered on all fronts.

We had a great stay. Front desk staff were amazing, particularly Kristina. You can’t grow tired of the sea view here. Beds are comfy. Some things I wish I had known before booking: 1. This place is a resort with five buildings, each with a different name and style. All share hotel facilities. The Blue and Princess are probably the nicest; Neptun is the most basic 2. Five star in Croatia is not of an international level. However we looked at several other hotels in the area and the Royal is the nicest 3. Book only a sea view room otherwise you could have a view of a wall or carpark 4. Walk into town along the Promenade and visit More Cave bar 5. Uber is considerably cheaper than other taxis here 6. Bring a snorkel mask and enjoy the sea right from the hotel.

Breakfasts are mediocre and busy. Some of the buildings are older, renovated. Quality of decoration and maintenance varies. Common areas are a bit depressing in some places. Vista restaurant is good; others less so.

Very nice location just outside the city. With a 8€ uber you can get there in no time. Also very good places to relax in the shade of sun by the pool or beach.

We got a "free upgrade" but the suite was a little outdated. I would really had a modern room instead of the upgrade. But the gesture was nice. A bit high prices for the restaurants, but there is a village nearby on walking distance (10m) of a uber to dubrovnick.

I booked the place for me and my partner quite at last moment without much consideration, and we were both blown away by the place! Fantastic facilities, you have access to multiple restaurants, bars and also swimming pools on the spot! The best quality of the place is its great view to the sea, the terraces are exposed to sun throughout the day and you can see the sunset - I think it must be the best view out of the hotels in the peninsula. We enjoyed sunbathing and even jumped into the sea (in May). I was a bit hesitant that it might be far from the city, but it is very well connected to the old town. We never had to wait for a bus more than 2 minutes and it really is a short ride. And if you want to walk its less than an hour.

The room itself is quite small and the design very generic and quite basic, no view from room - but the room does the trick, is comfortable, and the hotel's other facilities balance that more than enough.

This is a five star property will all the facilities and in off season offers superb value for money. Top notch product and services .

Location is a bit away from the old town but has connectivity. Also does not have a beach front though it’s sea facing .
