An extensive range of scrumptious breakfast options was on offer, and the personnel were cordial and attentive. Although the room was tidy and roomy, it did not meet the expectations of a five-star hotel. Additionally, the outdoor balcony was unclean and subpar. It would have been preferable if the balcony was maintained to a higher standard. However, I was thoroughly pleased with the location, which was superb.

I made a reservation for three rooms at Gall Face Hotel for my family members. Upon arrival, I was accompanied by a driver, but unfortunately, the hotel did not have designated quarters for drivers. The front office manager informed me about this situation and as a result, I had to pay for an additional room. I find this to be a significant flaw of Gall Face Hotel and I think it is a way for the hotel to indirectly charge customers more money. In my opinion, it is unfair that the hotel expects guests to pay for their driver's accommodation. Ideally, the hotel should provide accommodations for drivers who bring guests to the hotel.

Great location...good value for money...very good breakfast buffet. Food and restaurant choice is good and reasonably priced. Staff made the difference very friendly..helpful and professional.Pool , health club are great... a great selection of in room TV and news channels are also available .The hotel has alot of history going back to 1864 and their in house museum is well worth a visit. The daily 6pm taking down the flag ceremony with the piper in full kilt Uniform playiing his bagpipes is iconic and a must see.There Christmas decorations were incredible.

As with all historical buildings upkeep and maintenance can be an issue...but the team can fix anything in a short period of time.

THE hotel in Colombo. Lovely building, spacioud rooms, located at the beach. A great place to enjoy the morning and the sunset. Friendly staff.

It's a pity that there is loud music in all restaurants/ bars in the evening. One quiet location where you can converse freely and undisturbed would be great. Or at last one location with a more muted, ambient sound.

This place oozes old colonial charm. Great location. Nice ocean views.

The music at firebeach was too loud. I have asked the DJ to lower the volume as it was a heavy raining day and there were not many customers there. The table next to us also complained the music was too noisy. We had to leave unfortunately moved to the traveler bar for drinks.

What didn’t we like?! Location, history, swimming pool, bar, staff. Brilliant. The breakfast was outstanding with so much choice. Beautiful views and just a joy to be in!

A few minor details such as painting outside and clearing up mess on roof under our balcony needs to be done. Attention to detail!

The breakfast is a feast. The staff were very helpful on most occasions. You cannot beat the location on the sea.

Wifi is not great. I found the lighting system unnecessarily complicated.

What sets this hotel apart is the perfect location, the historic building and the outstanding staff—friendly, attentive, and dedicated to ensuring a memorable stay. The diverse dining options showcase exquisite local and international cuisine in a beautyful setting on the waterfront. I also loved the seawater pool and the pool bar which serves very good snacks.

Nearly nothing, only the loud music in the evening form the pool bar is a bit disturbing.

The Galle Face is one of the oldest hotels on the sub-Continent. It is a little faded by comparison to a modern luxury hotel, but has bags of charm and character to make up for that. I was upgraded on arrival to a newly refurbished room which was very comfortable - excellent bathroom, for instance. The real joy of this hotel is its location, next to Galle Face (i..e a big greensward fringing the Indian Ocean and its seawater swimming pool is hard to beat, either. The verandah restaurant is smartly done but with echoes of yesteryear and the buffet breakfast (included) was superb.

Nothing much, really. The bar food was overcooked, but then I was eating rather late.

The Galle Face Hotel is steeped in History and lives up to it's name. The room was very spacious and comfortable making our stay of 4 nights a relaxed one. There are 4 main restaurants in the Hotel and we tried 3 of them which all offered a great menu choice and each a different experience. Whilst sitting eating your meal and sipping on your cold drink you can watch the Indian Ocean roll in and hear the waves hit the shore not far from where you are sitting. The staff were very helpful at all times and even arranged a Tuk Tuk for us to do a 2 days guided tour of the city and visiting all the places of interest. Shopping is great in Colombo.

The only one thing I can complain about is one day we were walking towards the shopping mall not far from the Hotel when a member of staff, who was off duty approached us and asked where we were going. He told us that the place was expensive and summoned a Tuk Tuk and bartered a price and told us to go to a gem store selling sapphire jewellery 50% off. When there we got pestered to buy something. So beware.
