Senate Hotel

My only complaints are that: 1) As other guests have mentioned, there are people using the computer at the checkin desk at odd hours (in the dark without the lights on in there -- two nights in a row). If I didn't have nerves of steel this would have been extremely bothersome to me. The managers should realize that this is really NOT OK to have that happening. 2) Also, it might be helpful to prominently post on the entry door the quiet hours so that guests arriving late don't make loud entrances as if they were still partying.

The staff was really nice. She allowed us to leave our luggage and get back at night. The shared kitchen is great with everything we need (utensils, pans, mugs, microwave, oven, and even tea and biscuits!). Both the toilet and the shower room are clean. The room is beautiful and spacious.

The wifi connection was not good. Sometimes the wifi could not be connected. Also, there were hairs on the washbasin.

There were facilities in a shared kitchen, and there was a shared bathroom which had a good shower. The room was a fair size and there was a big window to let lots of light in. The rooms are on the top floor of a residential building, but there is a lift so you can easily bring your luggage up with you. Check-in and out was nice and simple. No complaints.

Friendly staff, great location. Coffee machine and free coffee and cookies in the kitchen, balcony for smokers. Shower and toilet are shared, but it was not a problem for us. The hotel is in a really beautiful old building.

Basically my own stupidity I lost a envelope out of my pocket I thought in a taxi a substantial amount of euros in fact that was on a fri night but on Sunday my check out I got a knock at my door from a member of staff asking if had lost any thing and then only then lost some euros it turned out the envelope I dropped outside the senate hotel front door so the bosses checked cctv and it was me and handed back the euros and asked to verify the amount a wonderful example of excellence customer service very lucky for me

The hotel is nice, with old fashioned interior design, furniture and decoration, which makes the place cosy and more individual. Great location, each place we wanted to visit was easy to reach in walking distance. Staff was very kind and helpful, spacious room with sink and fridge and charming interior, lots of space to store our stuff, kitchen with cooking facilities and nice co-guests. After long time traveling we were happy to do some home cooking and have our own breakfast in the morning. Beds were comfy, shared bathroom and toilets were very clean.

I loved the atmosphere of the hotel, the old "kokolattiamatto" carpets, the aquarium, the "chandeliers". This hotel, actually a hostel, should not be modernised, as it's the old-fashioned feeling that is the attraction of the place. The location is very good, central but not noisy.

Nice small hotel. WC and shows are on the corridor. Kitchen with balcony open for everyone to cook or just to make tea. Free tea and cookies. My room hat a fridge. Hotel located only 5min walk from the cathedral. Tram 7 stops right in front of the hotel. Supermarket only 5min walk away. Hotel also has a washing maschine which can be also be used by guests.

Sometimes one has to wait for the shower in the morning.

I chose the hotel because I did not want to visit a typical hotel, but a special place in the center of Helsinki. This hotel is located in an old building and very nicely furnished, simple and functional, so it exactly met my expectations. I had a wonderful view of the cathedral. The hotel was as described. Therefore, it was as I expected.
