- Incredible value for money with accom, food and reduced price lift pass - Warm rooms with extra blankets if wanted - Large showers with room to get changed inside cubicle - Lovely comfortable common areas to relax in - Great regular nights (e.g. jam night) - Decisions homemade food (menu changes each night) and breakfasts (fruit, yogurt, cereal, pastries) - Friendly staff - Overall hostel vibe - very friendly and welcoming (as opposed to a 'party hostel')
- Lack of charging points in rooms (one plug for beds) - No lockers in room to put valuables - Location a little out of town with a dark walk at night - Sink in the dorm room rather than separately meaning noisy when people get back later/get up earlier and brush teeth - Dinner was very similar 2 nights on the run for me (cheesy cauliflower then cheesy potato gratin with no meat or fish option) - would be good to alternate meat/fish and vege nights

It was a peaceful location with a lot of amenities to make yourself comfortable outdoors. It was steps to the bus stop which was very convenient but walking downtown was also easy. Walking back uphill would be a little less fun, but the buses run every 30 minutes and are easy to use.
My only complaint is that there were two full days with no paper towel in the communal bathroom to dry your hands, and one full evening and into the next day with no toilet paper. Because the front desk is only staffed during certain times, there is no one to advise about the lack of supplies in the bathroom.

Location a little bit out of town but there was a bus station just outside the hostel and the train stop was about 10 minutes away so hostel was easy to get to. Excellent and quick check in, staff very friendly and helpful. They also give you a free guest card for the length of your stay which gives discounted bus tickets and use of the train for free between certain stops. The reception provided all the info on this. You can also buy one day access for all the main cable cars around the valley i.e Aguille du Midi for about 30 euros which is great value. Hostel also provided free continental breakfest buffet style which was excellent. The hostel also has a bar which has entertainment most nights with live music etc if you dont fancy going into town. Lastly, hostel had clean toilets and showers and were cleaned regularly. You could also charge your phone in the dorm rooms as each bunk bed had a USB charging point.
Room was a bit cramped and had no lockers but overall it was safe and had electronic key card access to it. Overall that was my only small gripe but would stay here again if I returned to Chamonix.

Excellent location, close to bus 2 that takes you to Chamonix bus station, cable cars, starting points of many hiking trails. The stuff is very welcoming and kind. I got a lot of helpful tips. Hostel also provides “all day unlimited cable cars pass” for a very discounted price. Highly recommend getting that one. Beds are very comfy and the rooms are clean, breakfast is good choice of things that feel you up for a day. Freshly baked croissants and bread made my mornings. You meet so many interesting people in the hostel, some summit Mont Blanc, some hike, paraglide, do via ferratas. It’s extraordinary place

The hostel was very clean, the staff welcoming and extremely helpful. the breakfast was very good and fresh. One can also purchase discounted lift passes from the hostel. I ordered a dinner, but I have some food allergies. The kitchen staff cooked separately to accommodate my request. That was very nice and appreciated. The hostel location was very nice with a view of the glacier from my window. You can also meet lots of adventure minded people in the hostel.
Nothing to complain about. Although the location is nice, it is about half an hour walk from the downtown. Alternatively, you can take a bus (20 min ride), but it circulates every 20 to 30 min.

The place was okay, not the best of course due to the price, but afterall it was OK. 4 beds dorm, with 2 sinks inside the room and a place to put your bags under the bed. And a something that look like a wardrobe but not to put your clothes on it. Checking in was easy and it was very close to the bus station which makes it a plus. 3 main houses, 1 for reception and dining area and pub and 2 houses for dorms. Breakfast had pain au chocolat 😍
It seems that they cut off the power sockets next to the beds at night intentionly 🤦🏻♂️ which eventually I had to use the one next to the sinks to charge my mobile and share it with the guests. Bathrooms are horrible to be honest in terms of space for a big guy like me, I had to use the ones in the reception the next morning. Overall it was okay and I would return if needed.

- Great value ski lift pass deal (allowed access to all of the Mont Blanc Natural Resort). - Staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. - Can rent basic skis and helmets from the hostel which was really convenient and a good price. - Decent breakfast for a hostel - including a coffee/drinks dispenser and croissants. - Very close to a bus stop, bus runs every half and hour and gets you to a number of the ski fields and town, also is free with your ski pass. Note that the bus doesn’t run later in the evenings but is only about a 25min walk. - Microwave, fridge and some utensils provided if you want to do your own food. - Rooms were basic but clean and also had basins.
- Only one power socket per room but there are USB charging ports next to each bed. - Wifi not available in the rooms. - Have to continually press a button to keep the showers going and they were luke warm downstairs. - Occasionally there was a bit of a wait for reception/rentals if it was busy.

The youth hostel was located at only a few minutes drive from Chamonix. Up front, we received a lot of usefull info through the booking chat by the receptionist, Mathilde. She informed us about what to do (Mer de Glace & Aiguille du Midi) & that we could buy Mont Blanc MultiPasses at the hostel itself to enter all the cable cars for only 26,5€ per day. We arrived at 11:55 and the reception was normally only open until 12:00. Nevertheles the receptionist took the time to sell us the cable car tickets, to explain us where to go and when & where the breakfast/dinner was served. The room itself was rather small, but tidy. There were two seperate beds, a shower and a lavabo. We took dinner in the hostel once, which was enjoyable. Also the breakfast was ok: enough choice and decent quality. In the entrance hall were some suggestions written about restaurants, café's, ... in Chamonix city centre.
The room itself had a shower but not a toilet. The shower in the room didn't have a hanger: we had to hold it up ourselves. Therefore we showered in the mutual showers. There was no shower gel or soap.

Best value for money you can get. Fantastic no frills facility with very kind and informative staff. Breakfast included was great and ideal for some well needed energy before hitting the slopes. I extended my stay for an extra night which meant having to change room mid stay and all was facilitated without any issue. Booking the lift pass and ski gear from reception also meant great savings so definitely don't miss out on this.
Some extra hanging storage in the 4 bed dorm (room 17) which i was in originally would be nice. Otherwise nothing else

it is quite difficult to write an adequate review, because of the location itself is quite expensive, and the Hostel was very affordable, so I will try my best to be fair and objective: The location was very good (city), not great within the city as it is quite far from the center and you will need to take a bus and it is not running at every hour, especially in the evening. The staff is great, knowledgeable and very helpful. One of the greatest things is that as a tenant you can buy a ticket for the cable car to the Mont Blanc for a heavily discounted price which saves you about 50 EUR (!) compared to the normal price. Great breakfast is also included in the price. Mind blown! Place is full of active sporty people. Also the view from the hostel to the mountain tops is unreal. Would love to visit again. Nice!
The furniture in the rooms is dated. No electricity outlet close to the bed. There is only one for the entire room, which is quite ancient for a standard. Sometimes the common room closes way too early. There is no wifi in the rooms either. I didn’t have individual light by the bed, or it wasn’t working, so the room comfort is not great, but acceptable, especially in the context of other wonderful things there.
