Nice little hotel, a little dated but perfectly fine for us. Views across to the mountains from the room a nice touch. The owners were lovely, and the hotel itself was pretty quiet and made a good base at the end of the day. Rooms are on the smaller side, but perfectly fine for 2 friends or a couple to share. We paid extra for the breakfast buffet which was simple but good. Staff were attentive and we thought the food was good quality and was more than adequate for our needs. There are no cafes or restaurants nearby, so we opted to take the breakfast most mornings. Hotel 1 minute from the bus stop with buses every 30 mins to the main ski lifts in both directions. Around 15-20 minute walk from town as an alternative option. The hotel also has a boot room outside for keeping your skis etc, which was also good. Overall we enjoyed this hotel and for the budget price we can definitely recommend.

Hotel du Lacs is a long-ish walk from town, so if that matters to you then stay closer to the centre. We didn't mind this, but if you're staying longer than a few days you might want to choose somewhere in town. No shops or restaurants nearby, although the hotel next door does have a lively bar and restaurant. If you need to eat then this is always an option. Would have been nice to have hot drinks facilities in the room, a kettle would be a nice touch. Also maybe options for food storage so we could make simple dinners in the evenings - but this is more a nice to have. As a budget hotel you don't tend to expect this, but would be very useful.

We had a very pleasant stay at this well located, clean and affordable hotel. The only improvement we can think of would be more power sockets (e.g. with extension via multiple plugs) near the bed. But this is not a big problem as there were several plugs in total along with the bathroom.

Superb location!! Staff was friendly and helpful, breakfast was nice. Rooms and bed could do with update, bed are not too comfy but we had last room with twin beds. The view of the Mont Blanc from the window was worth the money though. Nice bar restaurant right next to it. Breathtaking walks.

Bed were hard. Room very expensive, but I suppose the location makes it worth it.

Perfect location and parking easy and free. Good breakfast and liked the location, being outside of the hustle and bustle of Chamonix

Not really anything to complain about. They did not serve supper or drinks after 9, but there was a great restaurant/bar next door.

The room was clean and the cleaning team was always prompt. Breakfast was simple, but had all the necessities. The employees were helpful and communicative. Also, the view! Highly recommend!

excellent location. beautiful views. amazing staff, especially Fabienne who assisted us enormously. she went out of her way to collect us from Chamonix hospital after my partner fell whilst hiking. so helpful at the hotel. a wonderful experience

one minor issue is the Verte Lodge on the N side of the hotel. frequented by poorly behaved British ex pats who party late into the night, totally inconsistent with the values and behaviour of the Chamonix valley.

The hotel was a classic old chalet-style hotel. It was right on the edge of town. next to small lakes and woodland that were absolutely gorgeous in fresh snow. The view over the mountains from our room was fabulous. The bus stop to town was just opposite and buses were on time every 1/2 hour, with the end of the line being the ski lift, and a free bus pass was included.

The bedroom could have done with some discrete bedside lamps; with the bedroom doubling as a living room, when one of us wanted to sleep there was no way to have soft lighting for the other one. The bathroom and breakfast were fine, but basic. We had to be organised to be at the right bus stop at the right time; one evening when coming back we had to wait over 20 mins because we were not organised.

Lovely hotel with fantastic staff. Room was not big but tidy and bright with a nice balcony. Great quiet location in a beautiful spot.

The hotel is situated not far from Chamonix centre - 20min walking distance. There is also a free shuttle just outside the hotel. The lake nearby is a lovely spot. The bed is very comfortable. Staff super friendly.

No air con. (There was a heatwave when we stayed)

The view from our room was probably the best view of the mountains and glacier in all of Chamonix. Staff was very nice.

Bedroom was small. Bathroom was very small. Shower was even smaller. Outlets were inconveniently located.
