As a gift to myself, I stayed in the hotel for almost 2 weeks! There are so many things to like--the interior decor, the size of rooms, decadent bathrooms (with prestige toiletries), extremely comfortable bed, location in best part of Montpellier. But, I'll never forget the kindness of the staff. Everyone from reception, housekeeping, restaurant, bartenders and valets was smiling, charming and friendly. Each person was a pleasure to speak with and really made me feel I was at home.

A few things minor suggestions: 1. For the price (nearly $400/night), breakfast should be included. More vegan options would be welcome. 2. A private entrance. Walking through the reception and/or restaurant is tedious. 3. A common lounge/sitting area for guests would be welcome too.

Exceptional hotel! From the moment you arrive it’s 5 star service, off the charts valet team, perfection of the room, the bed is incredible with high quality sheets, duvet and mattress, the restaurants in the hotel are off the chart delicious, you do not want to leave the hotel when you’re being spoiled here…..and the list continues for this luxurious experience. Absolutely an Exceptional Hotel! Thank you to the fabulous team!

The hair dryer needs an update. It was a bit painful to hold down the power button- a long annoying process before going out which otherwise would be enjoyed in the beautiful vanity area.

This hotel is honestly one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at. Historic building beautifully updated with exceptional service. Two great restaurants with an outdoor seating area right on a quaint isolated peaceful square. The location is walking fantastic. Right in the middle of everything and everything is just a walk away.

We arrived by TGV and had a car pick us up at the train station. The hotel is located in a beautiful area designated as a pedestrian area and car access is limited. Our car didn't have access so we had to walk a block toting our luggage. This is our fault and definitely not the hotels. The hotel actually reached out to us ahead of time to arrange a train station pick up but I declined because we had already booked a car. DEFINITLY book you car through the hotel because that car has access to the area and will drop you off right in front of the hotel.

We loved the location of this hotel. It is in a pedestrian area of the old city. The valet staff was completely helpful with the car and our luggage, thus the pedestrian only area made it even more charming. We enjoyed how intimate and comfortable it was. The staff is simply completely pleasant and helpful!! We had dinner in the restaurant there and it was spectacular! This is the place to go when wanting to go to the old-town area of Montpellier.

Location is in the historic center of Montpellier, everything done by foot! Beautiful building, nicely renovated. Breakfast was high quality, not too much selection. Room felt really like a home away from home. Friendly service. Had two very good options for dine in.

sometimes communication was a bit difficult, since some of the staff doesn't speak English to well.

The staff were amazing in every way. This was a special occasion and they went above and beyond to provide a very high level of service for us. Getting to the hotel by car was the only challenge but I somehow managed to park at the front much to the surprise of the staff but they were all very accommodating. Great hotel and great staff. We will be back

The TV / movies did not work. This was not a huge issue for one night but would have been nice to have a music channel.

i am a senior who travelled all over Europe and the USA, the Hotel Richer de Belleval is my #1 hôtel ever: extraordinary hotel: location, decor, comfort, staff, service and facilities. the BEST !!!

The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was outstanding. The hotel bar is an absolutely beautiful, relaxing place to have a drink, and the restaurant is excellent....I can't say enough good things about the whole experience.

Old renovated mansion, with wonderful art. Outstanding breakfast in wonderful room/bar, under Jan Fabre art. Excellent 2-star restaurant. Wonderful location in town.

Even though the windows are soundproof, there is street noise (not from cars - there are none - but from people shouting at night). Sleeping in is hard when church bells start ringing at 8am

We had a wonderful stay at the Hotel Richer de Belleval. It is a beautiful, newly renovated hotel in the Place de la Canourgue. We loved the historic building, the interior design and the central location. Our room was immaculate, extremely comfortable and thoughtfully furnished. The staff were very attentive and friendly throughout our stay. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely visit again when we are in Montpellier.
