Pleasant, helpful staff - especially Luan at reception who really helped me and the lady with long, dark hair (didn’t catch her name) in the Breakfast area. Excellent transport links - right beside U6 U-Bahn line, bus stop and 5 mins walk from large Friedrichstrasse Station with U-Bahn & overground Train links to everywhere (and Airport Trains which stop at Friedrichstrasse). Amazing location - at intersection of central, famous & scenic Berlin streets Friedrichstrasse & Unter den Linden, major sights like Brandenburg Gate, Reichstag, Jewish Memorial, Tiergarten Park are 10 mins walk to the left and the Museuminsel island (packed with museums & Berliner Dom) is 15 mins walk the other way. Plenty of high-end shopping in the area. Some good restaurants too. A few close-by convenience stores, and the Friedrichstrasse station is minutes away with all the convenience stores & fast food options you could need. Spectacular Lobby & Staircase - famous from ‘The Bourne Supremacy’ - with Pool, Spa & Gym. Garden area to the rear. Outside seating to front of Hotel. Plenty of lounge areas within the Lobby. You definitely feel a little bit special staying there. Recently refurbished rooms are clean, modern, fresh & comfortable. Plenty of superior facilities, like a Nespresso coffee machine, spacious fridge, radio in bathroom and a gigantic TV with lots of channels and a terrific ability to easily ‘cast’ from your iPhone (i.e. to watch your own Netflix, YouTube etc. on a big screen). Reliable, good & free wifi everywhere. Breakfast was good with a plentiful selection, self-service and a chef to make eggs on request, but I have had better elsewhere, it’s not amazing. Excellent Covid safety procedures, with compulsory masks and plenty of hand sanitiser stations.

Sauna only open from 4pm and cost €8 extra - not sure why that should be the case. Air-con in room - try as I might, I couldn’t get it to meaningfully cool the room. Now, I do like a room on the colder side, but the temperature wasn’t at all too warm, most will probably like it. It was admittedly early March (i.e. less demand for cooling air-con) and with the Ukraine crisis perhaps energy costs are rightly a consideration. Plenty of windows to open also.

the hotel is very well located in Berlin, just moments to the underground station and bus stops and a taxi cab rank within whistling distance. I want to give a special mention to our breakfast host who was particularly helpful and very kind and charming. She said she was from Sicily and chatted to us each morning as she said she wanted to improve her English - what a credit to the hotel she was. The breakfast was very tasty, you can order a la carte eggs and pancakes which are delivered to your table and the buffet was extensive. It wasn't overcrowded but the hotel wasn't full. The enclosed garden was charming but we couldn't make us of it due to the rain.

The check in guy was charming and was able to give us two quiet rooms close to each other on the fourth floor as requested, but just be warned that he didn't make clear that he was going to charge more than the agreed room rate to my credit card on arrival. I am still awaiting the refund of the difference. It could be tricky for some to have £2000 debited from your card at the very start of your holiday as it can inconveniently block your credit card from further use, depending on your credit limit. . Normally a hotel might just take a deposit of 1 euro to ensure card recognition and some may bill the full agreed room rate on arrival, but I've never known a hotel to bill the entire stay, plus a further premium. It's far better just to settle your room bill on departure as normal.

Stunning property! Wouldn’t ever get bored of the views from the inside balcony’s. The bed was so comfortable, the bathroom was perfect. The daytime reception staff were so helpful, especially lennart.

Nothing, I liked everything about the property. However on the last night of our stay we called the night manager and requested some cutlery for our meal and he was very rude and unhelpful, we were told to wait half an hour so I asked if it was possible to come down and get some ourselves which he then had a short response and hung up the phone abruptly. After going down ourselves, the concierge still knocked on our door with the knives and forks. The night managers rudeness was the only negative memory we have of our stay. A minor one, but worth mentioning.

Fantastic opulent hotel which was the perfect choice for a short weekend stay. We loved the location as it was so convenient for getting around Berlin. Breakfast was unbelievably good and I would strongly encourage the option to have a fresh omelette made. We are already planning our next trip.

The hotel check in was slow which was a minor inconvenience. Also be aware that the hotel swimming pool has been closed for a couple of years. We knew this already before travelling but only from reading more recent reviews.

The Westin Grand is an institution with a reputation for upscale service. Since the renovation, I'd consider it at least on par with the Marriott at Potsdamer Platz -- maybe even slightly ahead when you take the grand atrium and good local cuisine into account. That's also thanks to the staff that had the same impeccable attitude I'd witnessed pre-pandemic. Unter den Linden/Friedrichstraße might not always be an ideal location depending on where in the city you need to be, but for any destination East of the Brandenburg Gate, this Westin will probably always be my choice. If you pay a little extra for the rooms facing the courtyard, the serenity of this hotel cannot be beaten.

There was no one to take our luggages upstairs or help with valet when we arrived. But then again, it was very hot outside, so I can't really blame the staff for hiding from the heat.

I stayed for four nights at the Westin Grand and it was an absolute pleasure. The staff are exceptionally helpful. The room was excellent as was room service. The restaurant was so good that I did not bother to visit other restaurants outside the hotel. I am a very discerning guest (read my revue of my dreadful experience in the NH hotel in Brussels a few days earlier if you want confirmation of that). The Westin Grand is one of the very best hotels I have ever stayed in. I recommend it very highly indeed and would have no hesitation in returning to it. A great location and a great experience. Value for money gets a 10/10 also.

There was nothing not to like. This hotel is in a league of its own.

The room was very comfortable, and the facilities were very good! The bed was big and comfortable, great and fast wifi, good TV service with casting, and a good room service menu. The staff were very accommodating too. Great breakfast! The dinner menu was limited, but what we did order was very good! And as there are lots of other places to eat nearby this was not a problem.

Our room was below rooms used for airline crew, which meant that we were woken up between 6-7am with staff moving furniture around and cleaning the rooms above for quick turnover. It was very noisy! We called the reception and they offered us a change of room for the next night, but the rooms offered were worse than the original (smaller and also the view wasn't as good). Finally on the third try we got the same quality of room! So the problem was resolved in the end, although I would have expected something like an upgrade or free drinks to apologise, but that did not happen.

Overall this is a very good hotel. The rooms are clean an comfortable. It's in a great location, right next to a u-bahn station and sites like the Brandenburg Gate, the Tiergarten, and the Reichstag are in easy walking distance.

May bathroom seemed to have issues. The drain in the shower didn't work very well so I had to be quick so it wouldn't start flooding the rest of the bathroom. There was also some automatic floor light that kept turning on on off on it's own. I was never able to find the master switch to turn it off.

Everything was just great. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast is amazing. The bar in the lobby was great and the lobby has a nice selection of drinks and snacks you can buy and take up to the room. The hotel is well positioned and close to most of the attractions.

Our first room the aircon was not working and they wanted to give us a fan which we did not accept. They rectified the situation and upgraded us to another room which was amazing.

Location, charm and cleanliness of the hotel, housekeeping service was great

Upon our arrival receptionist wasn‘t as welcoming as we would expect, she seemed that she wanted to get rid of us asap. By checkou we had a different receptionist and she was amazing! This makes a big difference, especially when checking in. Issues with connecting Apple devices to the TV was not possible however technician told us it does. it work for Apple. I think this should be mentioned somewhere, although it is not most important thing, may be disappointing especially if the hotel knows about it.
