Zum Franziskaner

Christian was such a sweet and kind man. He always greeted us every morning with a smile and good morning. We were given a choice of what rolls we wanted, and they were fresh every morning from the bakery and setting on our table. He recommended a restaurant for dinner and we ate there all four days and it was our favorite meals on our trip. It was great having a reserved spot to park so we never had to worry. When we checked out, Christian gave us each a pretzel to eat on the road. This is one of the many special extras he does. We loved our stay.

Christian is very friendly, breakfast is good en the rooms are nice and clean. We were during the holidays and they made everything so nice, a letter in our room to welcome us, along with a bunch of sweets. And the breakfast was really nicely decorated. Private parking and a basement for your ski's and shoes. It's everything that you need. We even got some pretzels for on the road when we left. Thanks for that! Vielen Dank für alles!

Only thing that could be a little bit better was Wifi 😜.. with everyone in the room and online it was a bit (much) slow.. but hey, if that are your problems you have a pretty good life, right? 😉

The location is great. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. Everything was organized perfectly including a personal parking lot reserved just for us. The rooms are nice and clean. The breakfast is very good. We were even presented with two tickets for the local bus lines for two days of our stay. I don't know if it was the hotel's initiative or the local tourist authoritie's, but it any case it was very nice. BTW, non-German tourists, pay attention, that you must wear FFP2 mask in order to get on the bus!

I love everything about this place! I had the best sleep here. i felt really comfortable. i love how they make the breakfast- they put pure effort into it and I appreciate them well for that. the place is walking distance to the bus station which makes it really accessible. great value for money and really nice staff!! i will definitely go back here even if I have to travel from Berlin! 😀

absolutely nothing!

The hotel is located close to the central square in Grainau. Each room has its parking. My single room was quiet spacy with a balcony and offered a nice view on the Waxenstein and the Zugspitze. The owner is very friendly and helpful and has a lot of good suggestions for activities. The breakfast buffet offers a variety of choices. The price/quality ratio is perfect.

For ecology, it would be better that marmelades and honey are made available in common dispensers and not by individual portions.

very easy to find. easy check in although they close at 6pm. the bed was comfortable. the towels were lemon yellow which was a lovely change from white towels. the breakfast was perfectly set out with everything possible - cereal yoghurt deli meats and cheeses and different breads and jams honey etc.

nothing not to like. the rooms are large and the bed comfortable. i was in the front road facing side though which meant lots of traffic noise.

Really nice staff and facilities. Breakfast was really good. The town is so nice and to get to the booking you can take the bus right out of the train station and it leaves you a couple of meters from Zum Franziskaner. I used the train also and it's a 20min walk, and a really nice one too.

This was a great hotel room for the price. Nothing too fancy but it was clean and small. No balcony or good mountain views, but overall a nice little getaway weekend spot. This hotel is close to Eibsee lake and only a short 5 min drive into Garmisch. The owner was super friendly and spoke great English. He even let us pick our breakfast items and a time we would like to eat. It was a nice experience and would recommend this hotel for a short little trip to Bavaria.

No balcony or mountain views. The pillows could be a little better as they were a little flat and uncomfortable. But not horrible.

Friendly English speaking personal, very helpful and nice. I got a lot of useful information from the receptionist. Beautiful old house. Clean and silent. Amazing view from the window, good breakfast. A lot of interesting attractions around the area.

I liked everything! I missed only the hairdryer. The rest was just perfect!

I liked the mountain view from the balcony which was accessible from my room - The room was cozy and the mattress was very comfy - There was a good choice for breakfast, served at the table according to your order - The staff was very friendly - The location is perfect, just a short walk from the railway station (for local trains to Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Austria) and there even is a bus stop around the corner for buses to Eibsee lake/Zugspitze cablecar and cog railway and Garmisch-Partenkirchen city
