The location, lobby size and design, staff, restaurants overlooking the water, facilities, elevators and the breakfast were all impressive!

I think a few things could be improved. 1 The weird odor in the hallway before the entrance to my room (102). 2 The furniture and style of the room could be updated to have a more modern appeal. 3 The curtains could be replaced or given an electric device to control them. 4 Please add small finger foods to the menu card; fries, chicken tenders nachos and other items would be great to order from the hotel instead of using Lieferando. 5 Breakfast was awesome, but please add some meat options for non pork eaters!

Loved this hotel! It has a great location and vibe, and we were not sure what the atmosphere around the hotel would be like since it seems a bit industrial but it is not a "cold" atmosphere at all - so much life on the river and perfect in the summer! Many plants and nice landscaping near the hotel (and the trees inside the hotel!!) made it magical. The view from the room was so special, and so worth it. Also loved the hotel decor, the lobby has the coolest classic "italian fine furnishing" and/or "classic modern" kind of style that is really unique I think. I like the neutral color scheme. I read reviews that people complained that the decor is outdated and needs refurbishing but I would have to disagree - ok maybe a couple sofas could be replaced but otherwise everything is in perfect condition. Do people really expect everything brand new? The room I did not find outdated, I rather liked everything as it was. I also like how the hotel is so sunny, even on rainy days it feels sunny, it gets so much sunlight because of the glass ceiling. ALSO - the staff was so nice, gave us umbrellas when it was raining!

The wellness could use renovation however - but it was still enjoyable! Also I would not stay in a room facing the interior. Prison vibes. Pay the extra money for a river view or stay elsewhere. Did not try the breakfast and regret that.

The room was beautiful with plenty of space to move around the bed. The room was also air conditioned! That is such a needed bonus for the warm days in a German summer. And the room was very quiet. I did not hear any other guests at night - so peaceful inside my room. The bathroom was beautiful - great water pressure in the shower also. The Concierge desk was so helpful - they helped me book a return train trip. The food at breakfast was a bit expensive but it was very good with so many choices. The river promenade was a great place to go for a stroll. The lobby was inviting with many choices for casual seating to meet up with friends.

It was harder to figure out how to walk to the hotel from the train station than I expected it to be - but once I found the way to the bridge it was fine and only about a 10 minute walk.

The people first and foremost. Fionn's birthday cake was really lovely so thank you, Sascha. The location and view was amazing. The club was beautiful view-wise. We'd definitely come back. It was in all a lovely hotel in a great location with fabulous views and really good staff in general. Sascha was amazing at coordinating a gluten free chocolate cake for my 12 year olds birthday. Thank you so much Sascha, he was thrilled as was I. The kitchen out did themselves in a gorgeous chocolate creation with beautiful berries to decorate it. It was eaten with great zeal and enjoyment. The birthday boy was delighted and so was I. We really appreciate how accommodating the Hyatt was to Fionn's food sensitivities and how nice in all. A hotel is just a building, it's the staff that make up it's soul. We loved it and we'll be back. Thanks for having us!!

The atmosphere in the club lounge wasn't great in the evening and the food was only ok. The lady was a bit snooty which is a shame when this happens in any hotel in the world. It's nice to be nice and we expect pleasant and warm as a starting point. This is, happily, what we experience in Germany and the point was made when I didn't have enough cash on me to pay for something at the train station and a nice lady asked if she could help and paid the difference. Stunningly kind. Fun, generous, friendly, interesting, open and welcoming. That is what I normally associate with Köln. Not snooty to paying guests, in a club lounge. But the morning was much nicer atmosphere!!

Great location, comfortable room and beds, friendly and competent staff, and AMAZING breakfast buffet. (I saw complaints beforehand that the breakfast area was crowded, but we found it spacious and comfortable).

While everything else was great, we partly booked this hotel due to the indoor pool. We may have booked something a bit cheaper, but decided to book due to the pool and breakfast (that came highly recommended). Our first full day there we were able to use the pool and sauna, and while we wished the hot tub was hotter, we were satisfied. However, when we tried to use it again Saturday night at about 8:30, we were told that it closes at 9 p.m. on weekends! This is completely opposite other hotels we have stayed at (including other Hyatt hotels) that have longer hours on weekends, not shorter. And we could not use the pool the next morning before we checked out, because it didn't open till 8 a.m., as opposed to 6 a.m. on weekdays.

4th visit there but first time with the family. Although I asked, the rooms were not close to each other. Otherwise it is as good as ever, great rooms (you CAN open windows, a must for me), with the landmark amazing buffet breakfast. Checkin staff were really great, not like checkout, see below. Overall, for the price, you get what you expect, remaining consistent over the years.

The checkout staff was cold if not downright unpleasant. Big contrast to the checkin team. Whatever. What remains horrendous is the garage cost: it is open to all and I think they could make a price for guests, and also reserve some slots for them. It was also hugely disappointing that guests do not have preferred access to the evening restaurants. Otherwise the hotel itself remains my preferred place to stay in Cologne. The second choice, ie Marriott, is way way below in quality.

The location was really good, walking distance to centre, close to airport (15 min). It is located closed to train station. Has a nice view on the Dom.

The breakfast if chosen on the location and not booked in advance is really really expensive - 36€ per person, and is not offering anything special. The most expensive breakfast I ever paid. The breakfast was an average one, therefore too expensive. Not so many options to choose from. In the city we paid for really good coffee and breakfast 17€ per person! I was bothered by the coffee treatment, so you are not allowed to take your own coffee, they would bring it to your table ... not necessary ... The coffee was not good!

We had a lovely stay at the Hyatt Regency. All staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. Rooms were large and kept very clean. Fabulous location.

My only small gripe (and this is not so much for the hotel itself- which is why I haven’t reflected this in my ratings) is that we felt that the staff at the Sticky Fingers restaurant were less friendly, and were quite rude to us when we tried to get a table there one evening. We ended up going to the Legends bar for food and the girls there could not have been nicer- excellent service.

The hotel is perfectly located and really beautiful. The bar and the restaurants are excellent. The pool, sauna, hot tub and steam room are great and the gym is decent. The room was very nice and large with a fabulous view and a very comfortable bed. Separate bath and shower was very good. It had a mini bar and bathrobes provided. Room service was very prompt.

The air con didn't work and while it was winter, the room got too hot. The window thankfully opened so we could cool down but it wasn't ideal. There was very little space to put clothes away. There was some hanging space in the closet by the door but that was it. Mini bar was very small and quite poorly stocked. No corkscrew in the room. Difficult to get through to room service. No access to stairs and lifts got very busy.
