The location is very good, very central, and the staff friendly and kind. The room is small but I was fine, the bed is comfortable. It can be noisy because of the bars or restaurants around, but the window had such an effective insulation system that I heard nothing and slept like a baby with the air conditioning. I also enjoyed the delicious breakfast buffet while listening to relaxing and good blues music as a background.

The bathroom was very small and smelled a little bit.

The location is great within a walking distance from the main tourist attractions, lots of bars around. The hotel is very atmospheric. The breakfast in the restrant was fairly good, and I really enjoyed the look of the dining hall itself.

There is no lift, but I knew about it when I booked. Fortunately my room was on the first floor. It's quite noisy outside till 1 a.m. but was also expected since there are tons of bars around. All in all good it is a very nice place.

Perfect locarion, nice breakfast buffet, friendly staff, the normal room is absolutely comfortable and stylish, view to river Rhein, fantastic! The small rooms are real...well, small. The price difference is peanuts, so book the bigger room if available. The restaurant is decorated with hundreds of paintings, candles and has a strong historic atmosphere. We loved it! We loved our four nights stay here. Our room and bathroom was a good size and nicely decorated. We had a beautiful view to the river. The bed was extremely comfortable. You can’t beat the location of this hotel. About a 10 minute walk to the station and most attractions, and right on the river front in the old town close to all the shops, bars and restaurants. Breakfast a small continental buffet. We dined in the restaurant one night and the food was lovely. The decor in the bar and restaurant is gorgeous. it felt really cosy in winter. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again. Thank you!

There is no lift so you need to carry luggage up stairs. Cleaning could be a bit more attentive - replenish water, tea/coffee/milk, wash cups etc

Perfectly placed for the train station and all the main sights, and right on the river. We were lucky and got a room at the front with a great view. Like the restaurant the room was also traditionally decorated with 'antique' light fittings and paintings.

Not a problem for us as we only had small bags and were on the first floor, but the steep stairs up to the rooms could be difficult if you're less mobile, on the higher floors or have lots of baggage.

Picturesque hotel facing the river, excellent location near everything. About 10-minute walk to the train station, easy to reach. Also, steps away from KD boats if you want to do excursions. It is a historic landmark, rooms are vintage and with funky narrow spaces. Breakfast is very good, and it includes 1 hot beverage and a glass of orange juice. Rooms have a kettle and a coffee bar too.

This part of town has 3 or more stories with no elevators.

The location is great-walking distance to many attractions in Koln, and right on the river. The building is very quaint with a lot of history. The breakfast buffet was excellent. I would definitely stay there again.

It was a little awkward checking in; as I was checking in after 2200, the reception desk was closed, so I had to check in at the bar. There wasn't a notice that I could see explaining where to check in.

The hotel interiors, rooms' cleanliness, staff, food and overall atmosphere is absolutely exquisite. Located in the heart of old town Lowenbrau exceeded all our expectations. The value for price you get is more than satisfactory, everything is close by in the center, no need for any transportation whatsoever - and even if, that's nearby also. Breakfast every day was tasty, fresh and served by incredibly friendly staff. The restaurant's interior is inviting and really atmospheric. The rooms are small, but absolutely enough for shorter stays (about a week or so). Everything is clean and the staff replenishes your complimentary water/tea/coffee supply on a daily basis. We have enjoyed our stay immensely and would definitely choose this place again.

Really nothing to complain about, the only thing to consider would maybe be getting some new sheets for the beds. Even washed, their color is a bit faded already, so doesn't give the nicest impression.

Great location for the old town and Xmas markets. Traditional feeling bar/restaurant with hotel above. Clean, large room with river view was fab. No noise heard from bar below or other rooms. Air con/heating worked great with minimal noise. Food was nice in the restaurant.

Didn’t top up the complimentary water daily unless it was completely empty. Sometimes the provision of milk pods for hot drinks in the room was not topped up enough. Minor issues but stated to hopefully improve for future guests.

My wife and I travelled all over Europe for our honeymoon. This might've been the best place we stayed. The rooms are huge and they obviously take great care of them. The food is fantastic. But the best part is the staff. The gentlemen behind the bar are great human beings. Aside from pouring great kolsch beers for us, they gave us excellent recommendations for things to do around the city. Plus, they made us feel right at home - like longtime friends. 10/10 would recommend this place to anybody!
