AWA Hotel

The hotel is in an extremely convenient location, near the main train station and the old center area. It has a nice little lobby area, a breakfast area and cute garden with seating in the back. The front desk staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful with everything. The room was comfortable with enough outlets for our electronics

I wish the cleaning crew had refreshed our supply of standard items, like coffee and sugar and clean cups. The booklet said they would only replace towels left on the floor. We only left two towels in 4 days, but they were never replaced. Finally, the air conditioning stopped working the last night of our stay and we couldn't locate anyone to fix it.

Clean modern hotel, very well appointed and extremely helpful and friendly staff. Rooms and hotel lobby all very well presented and good value for money. Karlplatz is a 5 minute walk away and Marienplatz (centre of the old town) is 15 minutes. Ideally located.

Turning left out of the hotel takes you on a route through to Karlplatz and to the railway station entrances and is perfectly OK and safe. Unfortunately turning right out of the hotel leads you immediately into a rather run down area of the city which is part of a non-German area of Munich, containing rather low grade businesses and we witnessed some rather unpleasant behaviour (spitting in the street, drunks shouting and ranting to name but two, groups congregating etc).

Breakfast was excellent and staff really helpful. Receptionists always helpful and obliging Room was spacious and clean. 5 minutes to train station and all transport Recommended

No TV station in English except CNN news America. Would have welcomed at least one English channel for watching a film since they say they have satellite stations.. but each station we tried was unavailabe.

Room was absolutely lovely, the breakfast was great with lots of option. The staff was great and very centrally located, close to the centre. Right next to a kebab shop and many bars within very short walking distance etc.

The street the hotel is in isn't the best, as a female travelling alone I was catcalled and harrassed way too many times when walking to and from the hotel and someone attempted to follow me at one point, though uncomfortable it is not however unsafe by any means as its a well lit area and there is always people around who come to help.

Great location - very close to Munich Central station, giving easy access from the airport via train and also to the car rental agencies. The hotel is well positioned for sight seeing, we walked everywhere during our stay. There is a great cafe nearby to get some tasty breakfast options. The hotel was very modern, clean and comfortable. The rooms are quiet, so great for resting. The staff are friendly and helpful.

Oasis of comfort and quality in the boisterous neighborhood near the bus tours and walking distance to the central station. Breakfast is out of this world. Nice lounge outside in the garden. Comfortable beds. Lots of free little amenities that make the stay all more delightful. The front desk during the day is very professional and extremely helpful.

Late evening arrival was a bit lackadaisical and confusing due to the absence of someone behind the front desk. May be it was a slow Thursday night. But once the person was there she was very helpful and reassuring.

I don't understand why after paying for the hotel room upon check-in you still were asked to show a receipt of your payment upon checking out. Was it because of a new check-in staff with not much experience, or is it just the hotel's policy? I should have been given notice upon check-in that I'm supposed to show receipt of my payment when checking out. All hotels in other places in the world I have been to have never asked for a payment receipt when checking out. Is it a policy in Germany as a whole?

Lovely and positive group of young people, who manage the hotel very well. I was there for a night to watch Der Klassiker between FC Bayern - Dortmund. I really enjoyed my stay there. My sincere praises to Ardit, a young gentleman who manages the team and the work so well. I honestly felt so welcomed here. He even walked me to the S-Bahn to make sure I catch the right train to the Airport on time! Will definitely visit again.

Maybe the check-in can be a tiny earlier, but they made sure to accommodate all my needs after I arrived directly from the airport without much sleep. Thank you!

very handed if, like us, you are interrailing. The breakfast was nice, not very crowded even at peak times. The rooms were a good size and had all you needed. The tv allows you to connect your phone so you could stream your own services - a nice surprise!

Our safe stopped working with all our valuables inside. The staff were swift to come and assist us however - so disaster was averted. The location at night is a bit dodgy. I would not stay with children but for two adults it is fine. Shower curtain could do with an upgrade but other than that the room was clean and fresh.

Never thought I’d say this about any hotel but amazing bath experience! Rainshower with a lovely hot shower, soap and body lotion from Rituals…, and towels that are actually soft and not crusty! It is a 10mins walk to Karlsplatz, and a total of 15-20mins walk to Marienplatz, or you can take the train which is a 3–5 mins walk away. The bed and blankets were also soft and comfy.

Would be nice if we have complimentary bottled water or drinks from the mini bar
