Excellent location, very convenient, close to central train station, yet very quiet. Walking distance to everywhere we want to visit in Munich. The room is small but very clean. The beds are comfortable too.

This is not about the hotel itself, but rather the labeling at booking.com. The booking.com website shows rooms with different options, with classic double room as having shared bathroom, and deluxe double room as having private bathroom. I booked the more expensive deluxe double room. When checking with the receptionist at the hotel, I was told all rooms at Excelsior have private bathroom. The staff don't understand what the shared bathroom means.

Check in was very smooth. Staff was very cordial especially Josip who helped a lot with advices about getting around Munich. Rooms were spacious and luxuriously equipped. The location of the hotel is very convenient: it is close to U- Bahn station and few minutes away from Altstadt (oldest part of Munich). Breakfast was excellent with many choices. This is one of the best hotels we ever stayed in. Tip: as the street leading towards the hotel is blocked due to reconstruction call the Hotel to guide you how to drive to the hotel entrance to unload the suitcases and they will tell how to get to the Parking Garage where you get 50% discount as a hotel guest (you pay 15€ which is amazing for the central location).

Beautiful hotel in walking distance of the old City, metro station and food markets. Wonderful breakfast. Car park just a few minutes walk away which is discounted meaning we didn’t need our car at all while we were there.

We arrived late and the night porter was unsure of our booking. There was an initiative to tell the hotel you didn’t want your room cleaned to get a discount in the restaurant but this was not explained as you have to say so at check in so we misunderstood and our rooms were not cleaned anyway so we left the do not disturb signs on the doors. The night porter also stamped our parking ticket incorrectly so we couldn’t exit the car park without assistance.

Wonderful hotel! Julian was exceptional! We had a little problem with the room(s) and he was very good at communicating with us. He was very helpful advising with logistics (trains, getting around, etc.) since we had never been to Munich. Excellent service!

We had a little problem with our original room. It would have been nice to stay in the first room since it was quiet, but it smelled heavily of cologne. We were a little sensitive to this, so we had to move rooms twice during our stay. Not a big deal, as the concierge desk took care of moving our stuff for us. The last room we stayed in was across the street from a late night party (loud music, and even a fight broke out about 3 or 4 in the am. Obviously not the hotel's fault, but sleep was limited.

Such a nice hotel, as clean as new with all amenities available. They provided a very comfortable cot for our toddler too. When checking in, the room was all ready for us to rest. The location was great to walk and use public transport! Would recommend for a friend.

Our flight arrived in early in the morning and I had already informed them before but when we arrived to the hotel there wasn’t a room ready for us yet and we had to wait a few hours. It was difficult for us after a long night flight & on a rainy morning. Regular check in was 3:00 PM though so I understand. They tried their best to allow as in as soon as they could. The room’s view we got was on the other rooms which wasn’t the best.

10/10, early check in and late check out for no extra. Polite and friendly staff

Road / street noise if you get a room facing

Ok so I am from Jamaica and we are a tourism culture. This hotel has been on of the best in europe. The bed was so comfortable. This is a huge deal. Often times the beds in hotels in Europe are quite uncomfortable or just cheap. However the bed in my room was perfect. I took 4 hour naps. Everyone was friendly and professional. Very attentive, very helpful. We had breakfast and I ordered an omelet that was too running for my liking and a staff member quickly noticed and asked me if anything was wrong with the omelet. I explained it was too runny for me. He quickly offered to give me another one. I also liked the decor of the room. The color scheme was very calming. The toiletries provided were from a high end brand. I forgot the brand. Upon leaving the staff looked genuinely happy to hear that we would be returning. Why is this important? It means they were happy to serve me. I am definitely returning. It is also central. Very close to the main train station.

The view outside my window wasn't so nice. Perhaps small flowers outside the windows would make it nicer. There was no kettle in the room. I guess I could have ordered a cup of tea. So not really a complaint. In my room in particular it was too dry. I got really thirsty at night.

Hotel is located very well, at walkable distance to old town, train & metro station are just around the corner. Staff is friendly and helpful, we have requested an early check-in due to a morning arrival and they did their best, our room was ready in time. For breakfast, the meniu is varied, we apreaciated that bavarian specialities are included, and on top, you can order aditionally dishes, a la carte. We have to mention the nice time spent in the evening at their Vinotheka where wine and food are delicious, warmly recommend it.

the staff were exceptional, from the reception team to the breakfast wait team. Joseph was great to deal with upon check in and remembered us when we returned from our day put in Munich. all were really friendly and professional! the rooms were great and loved the furnishings and high ceilings. very comfortable and beds and linens fabulous. the breakfast buffet was excellent and so glad we upgraded to include it in the booking. well worth it. overall a great hotel. it was close to the train station which was great for our travels and convenient. the station and area seemed to be under a lot of revitalization and construction which was a bit noisy but I’m so glad we stayed there. we also had wine at the bar at the restaurant but didn’t get a chance to eat there but the menu looked great!

the area was under construction but not the fault of the hotel. I’m sure once done it will be much better.

This hotel was first class all the way...from the moment we walked through the doors and were greeted by the bellman who was incredibly friendly and helpful by answering our questions. He went above and beyond and even made dinner reservations for us since we were going to be out and about till that time. Everyone spoke English and they were happy to assist us. The hotel itself was beautiful! Breakfast buffet was great! We were able to order eggs from the kitchen with a meat protein. The hotel was conveniently located to the busses and subways. We would definitely stay here again!
