Hotel Condor

Very comfy beds in an excellent location. Nowhere is further than 20 minutes walk and the metro station is just 5 minutes away. Hotel was always clean and breakfast was a good selection of cold meats and cheeses aswell as yoghurt, fruits and some cereals.

Air conditioning in our room didn’t work for the first two nights however we were given a fan to make up for this. Staff at reception when we checked in were not the most welcoming however staff on in the morning and at night were very pleasant.

The location of the hotel was excellent. Only five minutes walk from the main railway station in Munich and a similar distance to the Marienplatz. Very close to all forms of public transport. It is situated down a side street so is very quiet, away from the busy road. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good with a lot of varied 'continental' choice and some cooked offerings too. The room was clean and the beds comfortable.

There is building work adjacent to the hotel so it was extremely noisy from 7.00am. We were informed of this beforehand but be aware it is really a 'wake up call' every weekday. The value for money was not good. This is only because we booked it during Octoberfest week when everything in Munich is very expensive. This is a 3 star hotel and on a normal basis the price needs to reflect this. The room itself was compact and slightly 'tight' for two people. The room was a bit 'tired'. Window dressings and some furnishings needed updating.

The Condor is a lovely small family run hotel in quiet street handy to the Hbf and Zentrum. Our room was small, as expected, but clean and comfortable, and quiet. There is building work in the vicinity, but on our Friday overnight stay there was no real noise. Our room had been been recently renovated to a good standard. Some people might find the bathroom small, but no problems for us, everything is very functional. The included breakfast is basic but very adequate, we enjoyed it. Staff are friendly and helpful, Dan at reception lent us an electric kettle, not provided in the rooms. We might have stayed longer than one night but the hotel was fully booked. Recommended.

The air conditioning was controlled remotely from reception for some reason, this meant that you had to ring up to turn it on and off, and you couldn't control the temperature or fan speed. There was a pile of cigarette butts on the balcony floor. Also there is some mould in the bathroom; around the window frame, on the tile grouting, and under the soap holder. Overall the bathroom was clean and modern.

For about 50€ per night, this place is great for value! A buffet breakfast was included in the price. The room although small, is well equipped with a desk, sliding door shower and fridge: standard hotel setups. Not to mention its great location being a 5 mins walk away from the central train station and a laundromat right across the street from the hotel, as well as lots of restaurants and bars nearby the hotel. Highly recommend place for tourists to stay at. Reception had pretty good service as well.

The Wifi can be slow at times.

Quite a long walk from the Central station,, if you have bags and the area is new to you. The hotel was clean throughout and the room was excellent. I was glad of the air conditioning in my room.

No warm food at breakfast. When I booked, I paid a little extra for a small balcony, but the only view from my room was a building site!! There were no instructions on how to use the TV! I managed to turn it on but gave up trying to turn it off using the remote control. In the end I turned it off on the TV directly. Despite there being over 20 channels available, Oh couldn't find a single channel for international new, in English! Not everyone can speak German...

Perfect location. Short distance from main attractions and train station (easy connection to the airport). Good size, clean hotelroom. Tasty basic breakfast. Wifi worked suprisingly well. Good bed. Friendly cleaner, who made sure everything is good.

Receptionists didnt have any intrest of customer service. No smile, not telling /asking anything (only said what floor my hotel room is, and when did check out, she only said "ok", not even asking did i enjoyed staying in Munich/ at their hotel and not saying good bye). Didnt feel welcome....which is pity, cause i liked visiting Munich and even hotel itself was quite good. Hotel room has paper thin walls, could hear everything what neighbor room was talking/doing.

The buffet breakfast was good, and the room came equipped with everything we needed. It was perfect for our one night stay and very easily accessible to the train station. It's a nice stroll to the historic area of Munich (15 min).

The check-in time is apparently wrong on booking (it says 00:00, but it is actually 23h). Thankfully the receptionist waited until we arrived at 23:40h. If you're going to arrive later, I'd recommend calling ahead to double check their hours. Otherwise-the only downside is the wifi connection is very poor.

This hotel is superbly located halfway between the Hauptbahnhof and Karlsplatz public transport hubs and perfect for sightseeing either on foot or assisted by public transport. My room was modern and quiet, looking out over the courtyard. I very much appreciated having a room safe.

The breakfast area was more traditionally furnished with cumbersome chairs making poor use of the confined space. But the staff cleared tables quickly as guests left. I stayed a week and found it irritating not to have been offered a wifi code on arrival and when obtained not to have have been told that the personalised wifi code expired after three days. The day before I left there was a little stack of wifi code slips at reception, so perhaps my complaint achieved an improvement!

I enjoyed staying here. The location was perfect. The room was quaint and comfortable.

I didn’t want this to diminish my rating but the hotel is in the unfortunate situation of being next to an enormous construction site. For travelers in September 2022 and the foreseeable future that is a major caveat. If you plan to be on the go from 7 am to 5 or 6 pm, then you’re fine. Or perhaps you’ve fantasized about being the sonic witness to a 50-car pile-up every five minutes? Or maybe you’ve always thought you’d enjoy action films if it weren’t for the onslaught of visual images? If so, then this is the place for you! A sound designer‘s sampling Mecca!

Free breakfast was generous and fantastic. The staff were English-speaking, professional, and helpful.

The WiFi was pretty unreliable, and seemed to be some discounted situation with rotating access. Morning was just barely usable, slow; evening was pretty much unusable. The strength of the signal was very weak on my floor during my stay (4th floor). Also, the balcony door in my room was on a single hinge, the other hinge having detached. I think the building needs a facelift, but the price is totally reasonable, so, pick your poison I guess.
