Hotel Hauser an der Universität

Breakfast offered nice variety of but also typisch Deutsch (which was what we were looking for). Appreciated the old-school vibe (tablecloths, pots of coffee, plants, etc.) Room was comfortable, air conditioning worked, good-sized towels. Furnishings a little dated but that doesn't matter to us. The location was perfect – in the student quarter, close to transit and the English Garden, easy walking distance from museums and all the touristy stuff in the Altstadt (but, critically, not in the middle of the most touristy section).

Parking situation might need to be more clearly explained on website. The garage is too short for many vehicles. Alternative is to find street parking in a location where you can leave your car for more than 2 hours during the workweek. Once we found it, we used a hotel pass and reimbursed the hotel. The elevator is quite small, so people who require that to get up and down (or are using a wheelchair) might feel a little cramped (we just used the stairs). Key system for doors was different from typical hotels – the door only locks if you lock it, but if you lock it at night when you're asleep, you should leave the key in the door (in case you need to get out quickly).

Single room for 1 night. Able to checkin early. Very clean comfortable small room in vibrant location with many cafes, restaurants below. Good security from street. Lift to rooms. Friendly helpful staff with English. Everything needed in room. TV worked. Kettle with tea. Bottle water provided in room. Interesting variety smorgasbord breakfast. A real sanctuary after arriving from less satisfactory accommodation. Bed very comfortable. Room had good ventilation, air-conditioning, and a good exhaust fan. Walking distance to major art galleries. Sad I did not book for longer stay. A gem of a hotel. A1. Good storage for clothes and seating and writing space. Walking distance to English garten and old arts district. Able to book taxi from hotel.

Breakfast area comfortable but not spacious, and may not suit bigger people. Lift also compact.

We were staying in a triple room at the top floor (3 adults). - we were very pleased with the room size which was really good (note that none of us are very large people though), with comfortable beds and a modern bathroom. The hotel location is great! The hotel is located in the university area, a very pleasant area, U Bahn (U3 and U6) is close by, and no matter when we arrived to the hotel, it felt safe. Many restaurants and cafes in the area filled with students, and convenience shops are not far either. Staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was very good, the rooms were very clean with amazing air conditioning, and wi-fi worked very well.

Even though the room was small (meant for a single occupant), it was very well laid out, aesthetic, very clean and comfortable. It was clear that much thought had been quite successfully given to the layout of the room, bathroom, and furniture. The staff is very friendly, helpful and efficient. The overall feeling is of being at home. For me, the location was perfect.

I would have liked a hot water kettle and cup for making tea in the evenings.

Nice rooms, comfy beds, and a good breakfast. The location is great, in the midst of the university/restaurant district. Lots of activity on the street, which could be noisy but the windows were absolutely amazing -- they completely block out the noise. The rooms are really well soundproofed. There's a ventilation system and air conditioning, so we opened the window when we wanted to enjoy the street scene and closed it when we wanted quiet. Parking was on the street, with a pass provided by the hotel. It was a little hard to find a place to park, but once parked we left the car there for 3 days so not a problem. Very helpful and friendly staff.

The rooms are compact, typical for a European hotel but could be surprising to Americans used to much larger spaces. It was plenty of room for two people, and we weren't there to sit in the room anyway. The wifi/network service didn't work very well, most of the time we just used our cellular data.

The breakfasts were very cute and you get served the hot beverage of your choice at your table. Super sweet!! The rooms are nice and have everything you need. I also got a street parking pass to park near the hotel for a small fee which was very convenient! The staff is super nice, and it’s no problem if you only speak English. Great location next to many museums and the university!

Excellent location. Location is in university area, close to transportation. Very clean cozy room. Amazing breakfast! There was a large variety of food for breakfast. The staff was extremely nice and accommodating. Would definitely stay there again!

Was there before, is a wonderful hotel, the staff very kind, clean and the location near Universitat subway station is one of my favorite neighborhood's in Munich.

Breakfast is served in authentic Rosenthal china and silver cutlery. There was a large variety of food for breakfast. The staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful. The room was noise-free and very clean. For a 3-star hotel, it is a very good value for money.

I have no complaints. Everything was above and beyond my expectations.

We had a room on the 5th floor and the elevator only went to the 4th floor so we had to carry luggage up a flight of stairs. Also was difficult showering as the shower area had an angled ceiling.
