Hotel Kraft

4 minutes to the Hauptbahnhof, at the quiet end of schillerstraße, excellent staff, very friendly and accommodating, clean and quiet hotel, close to all amenities 👍

We received a very warm welcome. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Our room was ready early for us. The room was spacious with a large double bed, wardrobe and television. The bathroom was quite small, but had a bath with a shower overhead and a hairdryer. Breakfast was a good choice of meats, cheeses, pastries, breads and cereals. Boiled eggs, sausages and streaks of bacon. There was a nice lounge/bar area for drinks. The hotel was spotless and well kept. The location was around 10/15min walk from the train station and the Marienplatz.

Room was a good size, although bathroom was a little small. Great to have air conditioning as many smaller hotels in Europe do not. Breakfast was ok, selection a little minimal but it was fine. Location was great - close to metro and walking distance to old town Munich.

Pillows could be better. But we found pillows at other hotels similar. Really need to find pillows that actually support the head and don’t go flat. Also, for two nights people in room above us were quite loud. All the floors are hardwood so doesn’t seem to be much sound proofing between floors. Swear these people were trying to move all the furniture for 2 hrs straight both nights.

The staff was wonderful. They went out of their way to be helpful. The room was large and the cleaning staff did a great job. The breakfast was incredible, an excellent way to start every day for us. The food staff was excellent and the coffee was great too. Old fashion service and charm.

It really didn’t bother us but there is a lot of construction area that area right now and the projects look like they will be working on them for quite some time. The construction noise could bother some people but it didn’t bother us.

Hotel Kraft is an easy walk from Munich’s main train station. The immediate area around the hotel was in disarray because of the massive reconstruction of the main station. Yet, the hotel was an oasis of calm and quiet. The staff was warm, inviting and more than willing to offer help and sightseeing suggestions. Our room was exceptionally quiet as we were on the backside of the hotel above the terrace. It was clean, nicely furnished, and featured a recently remodel bathroom with a luxurious shower. Each morning a very pleasant breakfast buffet greeted us. It featured cold cuts, cheeses, pastries, breads, cereals, and a selection of hot items. The hotel couldn’t be better located for proximity to the station and the old town and its sights. I would have no hesitation of recommending Hotel Kraft to friends.

Beds were a bit hard

Hotel Kraft is exceptional. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, professional and they go above & beyond. (See my comments about morning coffee below.) Reception recommended nearby sights & food/drink. Breakfast was outstanding. Response to a request regarding the room was immediate and well done. Cleanliness exceptional.

It was just a little difficult to regulate room temperature (ended up using the radiator vs the window). Also 7 am is a little late to have to wait for coffee, if you're an addict (like I am). HOWEVER, staff would get me coffee *before* breakfast opened -- I appreciated that so much!

Easy to access either by walking or using Metro to get all around Munich. They had some parking (15 Euros/night) right at the hotel. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful every morning. We had no air conditioning our first night so when we told them in the morning they right away changed our room for the rest of our stay then everything was fine. There is currently construction right across the street but the windows seal well so if the windows are closed it won't bother you as they start working early every week day, by 7am.

Nice hotel with an excellent, dignified staff. Good size rooms and a fairly good location.

Unfortunately during the time we stayed, there were workers and machinery destroying a building across the street which was extremely loud and a bit of an eyesore when you walked out of the hotel. We wished we knew this before we booked. However, this was early July 2023 so the work might be completed by now and may no longer be an issue.

The hotel had a good, classy vibe. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. Breakfast was wonderful— delicious coffee and so many selections in the spacious breakfast room. We had a good-sized room in the front of the hotel and it was very quiet at night. The bathroom had a tub/shower and plenty of counter space. We were pleased with everything! Also, there is a good kebap restaurant across the street! Location is close to the Prater and subway, several blocks from the Hauptbahnhof, but doable.

The only improvement I can think of would be a mini-fridge in the room.

- helpful staff (the boys at the reception and the girls who served breakfast and cleaned the rooms) - quite big room, proper cleaning - very good breakfast; a special mention about the girls who prepared and served breakfast: kind, discreet, ready to give you what you need - adequate sound insulation (with the windows closed, the noise from the construction site opposite is not heard at all) - good location, close to the central station and at an walking distance from the city center (10-15’)
