The building is beautiful. Our room was large and comfortable with a wet room. We also had a small balcony, which we didn’t expect. We loved the style of the hotel, but if you are looking for something modern with a lift, it isn’t for you! The bar/ restaurant is great and has a lovely outdoor seating area. The staff are very friendly. The waitress was particularly helpful, making suggestions about where we could visit. We had dinner there, which was delicious. It has a good selection of vegetarian meals, as well as many meat options.The location is good too. We easily found parking on the street.

We felt the breakfast had little choice, but because it was included and the room was very reasonably priced for Munich, we didn’t mind.

What a wonderful building!! Beautiful common area and restaurant and breakfast room. We arrived and received the key to our room, but booking dot com evidently has a bug so this room had only one double bed but no space for our third person. The hospitable personell immediately gave us access to another room w/beds for 3, and apologized that there were more stairs to climb. Breakfast was very nice, we esp liked their «cook your own egg to your liking». I saw that they had that olden days pully lift carrying trays of dirty dishes down to the basement and other things up, loved this.

At breakfast, I looked for coffee, and the guy at the bar asked what kind and after handing me the cup of cappuccino he said he would charge it to my room. Was taken aback because I am used to hot drinks being included for breakfast. Upon checkout a little later the same guy said everything was in order so I am not sure what went down. Booking dot com also states check-in is 0.00-23.59 and checkout before 23.59. It is supposed to be 11. Everyone understands that midnight is wrong but their entry probably needs some correction.

Charming historical building with antique furniture and detailing. Lovely bathtub by the window

Check in was confusing, even though we arrived at 3pm there were no staff on site. We did not see the hotel workers much at all and our room did not have towels or other basic supplies and was only cleaned one of the two days. A bit of water or a teakettle would be helpful in the room. Overall worth it for the charm of the historical building, but very bare bones feel (kind of like a hostel) especially if you don’t get the rooms with the bath. Definitely wouldn’t recommend booking any room other than the room with the bath unless you are ok with extremely basic.

It’s a beautiful old traditional building. It does need some TLC but you could see it’s history and lovely architecture everywhere you looked. It’s very basic but very clean and tidy.

There’s obviously work needing done to bring it up to a very good standard ie the lovely wooden floors in my room need sanded and re-varnished and a few similar small jobs to freshen the rooms up. But I enjoyed my stay. Great to have the bar facilities too

A very nice team of employees, very welcoming also for bikes :-) a dining hall with piano concerts in the evening ! And the warm feeling of a hôtel with a soul

The accommodation seems a bit tinkered sometimes (room basin, bedside lamp) but the prices are fair. I would wish for some bio eggs and fresh local food for the breakfast but it seems again fair for the price and most customer's expectations.

Full of character and charm. The staircase is a photographer’s dream. The beds are comfy. The staff are great. This was our second visit as we enjoyed the hotel so much the first time.

Not a problem for me, but there are no lifts so not great if you have mobility issues. There are no TVs in the rooms (who travels to watch TV anyway?). There are not a lot of vegan breakfast options (though well catered of main cafe menu).

When my wife complained about the heater not working and the room had mold and furnitures dirty and the bed stained. We tried to cancel but they didn't want to give us a refund. They changed our room but again the heater didn't work, at that time they brought a small old electric heater and one of the staff members threat my wife in a menacing intention pointing his finger at her face and yelling at her, we were very close to call the cops, the bed was uncomfortable not tong enough for a 6’2, I liked the breakfast, the vintage style of the hotel and the location was great for Octoberfest and site scene.

The staffs are friendly. Also the building looks so old and they have their own charming point, I guess ☺️ Though they do not offer elevator and my arms hurt lol, I stayed well. Thanks for your kindness at night and in the morning!

You should know that they do not have an elevator and some of the rooms do not have their own bathroom and own toilet. Moreover, If you do not wake up early, you might not get cheese for your breakfast. (;

This place is wonderful, the staff were very kind. The room and breakfast were really good. My single room looked out onto the tree lined street. I really loved the atmosphere here, just two minutes from a busy area, and you would never know. Bird song awakes you, and yet the centre is only 5 minutes walk. I want to return!

I would have loved a kettle in the room.

I loved the original decor and atmosphere of the hotel. Very quiet location. I ate in the restaurant twice - excellent food. One night there was a good pianist, the other night there was piped music, rather too loud and quite unnecessary for the atmosphere of this wonderful, unspoilt hotel.

The hot water was not always available.
