A great location.Around the corner from Hoffbrau House and Marienplatz and the Market. Very close to the train. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast was very good. Hotel staff was wonderful.There is a lot of activity at night so we booked interior rooms to avoid noise level.

There were renovations happening during our stay so the spa area was closed. Also there was construction noise during the day but it ended before dinner.

Our stay at the Platzl Hotel was a lovely experience. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The rooms are spacious, the beds are exceedingly comfortable and there was plenty of space for all our belongings. The rooms are well stocked with coffee, tea, water, soda and other amenities such as shampoo, lotion and soap. Breakfast is spectacular. Each and every item was delicious and the variety is fantastic. Location is absolutely perfect. Close to Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt and the Hofbrauhaus. We walked everywhere including to the meeting points for all our tours. We had a marvelous view of the city and the Heilig Geist church whose bells rang every morning and evening. Although the area can be noisy well into the evening with people enjoying food and beer at the many surrounding restaurants, our room was surprisingly quiet due to the heavy glass in the windows. We slept soundly. The lobby is enchanting and cozy. We sat on the comfy sofas and enjoyed our gelato several times. Overall a wonderful time at the Platzl. We will most certainly stay here again.

Front desk staff needs to be trained that stamps for US cost a different amount than German domestic rates. Also, if a guest asks for a room, the same size as during their last stay , just do it without any fuss.

Location is excellent, very close to Marienplatz and Residenz Palace, walking distance to some museums and art galleries. The train station is also walking distance even with our suitcases so very convenient. Many restaurants, cafes and some amazing beer halls all very close so no problem finding places to eat. The bar in the lobby is small but really lovely to sit and have a drink after a long day. The bar staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would stay there again if we return to Munich.

Breakfast was amazing -- a rich and varied selection of items supplemented by freshly made omelets. The staff -- front desk and breakfast room both -- were tremendously helpful and personable and caring and responsive. The location simply cannot be beat -- right in the heart of Old Town and just a few minutes' walk to the centre of it all in Marienplatz. And even though it's right next door to the Hofbräuhaus, we never heard any noise from the street. Frankly, I would never think of staying anywhere else in Munich when I return.

Stayed for 3 nights with Mrs. Location within the Old Town is just excellent. 3 min walk to Hofbräuhaus München (... longer getting back though). So, Location (excellent) + Staff (traditional, polite & customer always comes first approach) + Room (Classic Double - clean, spacious, nicely laid out and decorated) + Bar (nice) + Reception Area (large & airy & doubles up as somewhere to enjoy your drink from the bar area) plus the overall superb ambience of the hotel made it a good value place to stay in our eyes.

The location was great. The room was comfortable. Everything was as advertised.

The air conditioning was weak. I'm know this is an European issue but sweating while you sleep is tough.

Breakfast was a very good buffet. The location was excellent! We were steps from Hofbrau House and Marienplatz.The room was very clean and housekeeping did an excellent job every day.Lobby bar area and restaurant were very good.

Spa was closed when we were there.We read the reviews and booked an interior room.. the neighborhood at night is noisy but we weren’t bothered by that.

the room was very comfortable, particularly the beds and the shower was nice & powerful! food at the restaurant on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day was outstanding and staff were incredibly helpful throughout. There was a good range available at breakfast each day. The location of the hotel is fantastic for exploring the Centre of Munich with many attractions within walking distance, it’s also close to tram stops.

Location was central. Facilities were clean - room was kept clean daily. Lobby was beautifully appointed and staff was welcoming and helpful as we only spoke English. We had a drink and snacks from the bar - served in the lobby area. Bathroom amenities and daily water, espresso, juices and beer were lovely!

Ongoing Construction made rest or relaxation in our room difficult. Property needs a fan in the room to circulate air. At this price point, that should be expected.
