Hotel Goldenes Kreuz

The room was wonderful - extremely clean and better than in the pictures. It was enveloped in history and still equipped with modern comforts! The location and walking around it was a superb experience. [Getting there, however, would have been impossible without Christina's clear instructions] The staff was great on the first day - both at the hotel and the restaurant. The free breakfast was delicious and the portions were extremely generous!

The dryer in the room was extremely loud and it didn't really dry very well.😅 The elevator was clunky and unreliable when we were trying to move our luggage on checkout. There was a mixup with billing (amount charged was slightly higher than mentioned in the bill) and the restaurant staff was icy on day-2. [None of these take away from the experience too much; we thoroughly enjoyed the stay overall!]

near to centre, very good room cleaning, comfortable beds, good kitchen equipment( no oil, condiments).

Bathroom was very small, television was difficult to get any English language programmes. While breakfast menu was good staff were inconsistent, different staff each day, and even same item on menu had different components each day. Fruit on yoghurt was not peeled. We had not been told that breakfast on Sunday was an Hour later than other days, even when we sat waiting for some staff to appear.

With direct view on to Haidplatz, the room was quiet in the evening as long as the windows were close. luckily, being a lovely old building it was quite cool inside anyway. So location fantastic, lovely restaurants minutes away, boat trips, t6he Dom, and all other must-see things within walking distance.

Nothing! Having breakfast in the Cafe was at first a little confusing, but then it turned out you could order whatever you wanted as a hotel guest, and the prices on the menu were only for people stopping by.

excellent location, very nice large room(100sqm), shower AND bathtub, 2private toilets, very comfortable beds, a water bottle per guest (5), kitchen, washing machine,… nothing to not like. When we arrived home there was even a packet with the stuffed animal of our son waiting for us. We forgot it at the hotel and they immediately mailed it to us without us asking for it. The breakfast choice in the associated cafe is vast. One can literally order anything one wants, from a menu with plentiful choices (even cake, ice cream, lemonade, warm food, breakfast sets,…). loved it. It is a great place to stay for families with kids.

The hotel is located at the center of Regensburg, all the major attractions are within walking distance. The rooms (especially the bathroom) are spacious. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a cafe downstairs which provides the breakfast to the hotel guests. The food was amazing, we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to anyone who visits Regensburg as a tourist

Parking is possible at the hotel but the driving is not easy, which is understandable since the hotel is at the town center with many one-way streets. We parked at a public garage nearby and it was only about 5 minutes walk

The location is fantastic , the room was very large oak beams with a fourposter bed! Breakfast was very nice and service excellent. I had issues with no credit card facilities with local taxis and Christina saved my day by providing me with cash / euros and allocating the amount to my room - She really is a credit to this hotel and i may have met the owner of the hotel who was equally as nice and i will most certainly be returning to this hotel on my next trip to Regensburg!. Great staff , great breakfast , great room and great location !!! See you within the next 6 months !

EVERYTHING WAS GREAT!

The room (21) was fabulous, and far exceeded my expectations. It was huge and well equipped. The fact that it overlooked the rear courtyard rather than the square was probably a bonus as there were noisy preparations for an event in the square. The lady on reception was lovely.

There isn’t really a car park. Just a couple of spaces which seem to be used by local businesses. The nearest car park is not too far away, though.

Great location, large room and huge bathroom. Powerful shower. Breakfast was in their cafe on ground floor and superb. I would not bother trying to use the parking spaces at hotel as very few and you could find you are blocked in , just use the nearby underground car park which is only a few minutes walk away. If we were in Regensburg again I would definitely consider this hotel.

Entrance to hotel not easily located , under the archway and no sign with hotel name. We just knew we were in the right area because of the cafe name. Vehicles park in this area and can hide hotel entrance. Had trouble with the additional parking tickets to obtain the discount in the car park but the attendant was very helpful.

We stayed in April, and had a very enjoyable stay for two nights. We received a very warm welcome and the staff were always approachable. The rooms are pleasantly furnished, and the beds are comfy, for all, great and small. Even the additional bed for our daughter was of a good standard and not just a sofabed.The central location was great.

The man serving breakfast appears to not be a "morning" person.

I booked the room for my wedding for my family. The history, location and beauty that the hotel holds, as well as the flexible and kind support of the hotel people. Overall, very happy and satisfactory stay.

The wifi is slow and when we wanted to make a covid PCR test reservations online, it cut off all the time. And, a little thing but sometimes at breakfast, my family had to wait for 50 minutes to be served.
