SORAT Insel-Hotel Regensburg

EVERYTHING!!! The location! it is central yet away from the tourists. it seems like every room has a view of the Danube and the picturesque town of Regensburg! Our view was beyond words during every part of the day…from morning, till dusk, till nightfall. The lobby and bar have an modern, bright and welcoming feel! The staff were so helpful and kind! The rooms are spacious, clean and the beds were the most comfortable of all our travels through Europe! I highly recommend it and I hope to return after checking off the rest of my destination goals! Thank you for the most memorable time of our 2022 Europe vacation!

Very friendly and helpful staff, excellent location almost right in the center , but in a quiet area , situated on island in the middle of Steinerne Bridge. Quality breakfast, excellent service, good selection. Nice sauna. Amazing view terrace (Steinerne bridge, river, towers of old town and the neighboring island of Stadtamhof). Possibility to park directly in the hotel and arrange with the staff to extend the parking after leaving the room. One of the hotels we would like to return to.

Fantastic location on an island in the Danube itself, immediately adjacent to a bridge that connects to the old town. Large hotel with on-site parking and other amenities that we didn't have the time to utilize but the bar looked nice.

Rooms felt a bit dated. We happened to be there during a sort-of Oktoberfest, so the price felt a bit high.

Bit outdated, no safety box, no kettle/coffee machine, no mini-bar/fridge in the room. Pillows either too stiff or already disintegrated, plugs and light switches on the bed headboard directly behind the pillows!

Location and setting. Proximity to walk into town.

Internet Wi-Fi was sporadic and very weak. I was in a room on the first floor not far from reception. The staff attempted to assist in establishing a link but the signal was too weak to maintain a connection. A bit of a shame as I needed to stay in contact with my office.

The location is superb. On an island in the Donau, yet at walking distance from the city centre. Calm and quietness combined with easy access to all touristic sites. We had booked a comfort room overlooking the River and the old city: an option to be recommended. A really large room, nice beds, quiet rumours of passers-by, and splendid panorama over the old city...

The decoration and amenities of this hotel are really somewhat outdated. In this sense, the hotel accomodation does not live up to the value of the location. It ressembles a chain hotel accomodating bus passengers, whereas it could be made to fit exclusive travellers. The breakfast buffet e.g. was rather basic. Positive however was the obligation to make all guests wear plastic gloves in order not to touch the food, as a protective measure against the spreading of the virus.

The location is perfect as it is just in the heart of the city, and the view from the hotel is splendid. The reception is opened 24/7, and it is perfect as the night city life is extremely lively) the room was absolutely spacious, and the bathroom was spotless.

The bed consisted of two single beds, and it was not really comfortable.

Fantastic room with incredible views of the river and old town. Parking was super easy underground for Eu 17. Great service gave us an early check in which as we had just flown in from Australia was greatly appreciated! The room was enormous senior suite surrounded by river views.

Nothing was perfect

First time to visit Regensburg for the Christmas markets. Very large room and bathroom for Europe. wonderful view of the Danube.

Was a little disappointed the restaurant was not open Sunday-Wednesday during our stay. Had read how wonderful the breakfast was and was really looking forward to it.

We enjoyed their breakfast very much. The hotel is great location with clean spacious room (a little outdated..), right next to the old stone bridge, just few minute walk to old town. We will definitely come back to this hotel.

If you are coming with own vehicle (larger vehicle), their parking garage is in basement very accessible but felt very tight.
