Everything! Beautiful rooms - plenty of space. Super comfy beds. The hotel is in a great part of town - close to so many great bars, tavernas, Ladadika, Kapani Markets and so much more. Fantastic breakfast with the best coffee. An added bonus was secure parking very close by. The staff were exceptional with special mention to Garifalia, who made our whole experience even more amazing. Whenever we are lucky enough to return to Thessaloniki, we will always stay at Maroon Bottle Suites. 💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍💙🤍

The rooms are in an older house which has been converted to a high standard. The room size was good and in particular the bathroom was excellent. There could perhaps be more storage space for clothes, especially if you planned on staying for an extended period of time, but for our stay it was perfectly adequate. The beds are very comfortable and the aircon is quiet. Hotel staff are welcoming and helpful.
Everything was fine there was nothing not to like.

Maybe other reviews downplayed my expectations. And I’ll tell you what, it’s not a 5 star resort for the price of 1 EUR per night, what some of the other reviewers seemed to expect. What it is however: absolute value for money. It’s clean, its comfy, the staff is friendly, sure the room/bathroom layout might give families some trouble, but it’s fine for couples. Entrance is provided by pincode instead of key, which is perfectly fine. The breakfast is not an open buffet but you get presented with a menu with 3 preselected options or you can mix and match to your liking. Which honestly is fine, atleast they offer some local options, next to more conventional ones. It is however far from a hogwarts dungeon like others seem to call it. Sure the view consists of other apartments but guess what! You exit the doors and you’re in the middle of the city! Brilliant. Almost everything noteworthy is at walking distance and for the few places that are too far, the bus provides a cheap alternative. Honestly there is not much to dislike. From the wife’s perspective the only „issue” we could really find was the placement of the mirror in the room. Due to the irregular layout the one mirror in the room does not have any lights close to it which might give issues on darker days if one would like to use the mirror for makeup.

This is a converted apartment building (or it sure seems like one), over a local cafe. It was a solid choice. SERVICE: I didn't encounter bad service anywhere in Greece. Service was proactive and helpful, with a long email about how to access the hotel coming before my arrival. Most of the time I was there, though, there was someone available in the office or the cafe. ROOM: The building is older, and though it's fully renovated, you can tell positively from the handsome fixtures and staircases, and negatively from the room layouts and sizes. My room had two small rooms. I prefer a more open plan, and that's personal preference, but I think many people will tend to stay in one of the rooms and not use the other. My room on the first floor faced the street, there was not that much noise, but I was visible to people on the street, so I used the privacy curtains. BREAKFAST: Served in the cafe, consisting of breads, pastries, salads, egg bakes and grilled toasties along with juices and hot drinks. You could have as much as you wanted, and though it was not always made to order, it was good. The servers at the counter were always friendly. PARKING: Like most downtowns in Greece, parking is costly, and free parking is hard to find. Also, driving in cities (or on islands) in Greece is not for the faint of heart. The hotel had a deal with Parking Thermaikos about a five minute walk away for 14€/day when I stayed. WIFI: No issues LOCATION AND SIGHTS: The hotel is downtown, close to the cathedral and about 20 minute's interesting walk to the big museums and the White Tower. The Metro finally opened and it's a block away. Thessaloniki has second city energy - it's smaller than Athens but there is a lot to see and several good museums. The Maroon Bottle is a solid choice - there's no reason to avoid it if it suits your taste and plans.
See above - I would have preferred a more open layout to the rooms. It's not a dealbreaker.

The hotel is in a great location - in a lively street mid-way between Thessaloniki's atmospheric old town and the modern city and sea front. All staff are very friendly and efficient. My room was very comfortable, with an excellent bed/bedding and a modern bathroom. Everything is spotlessly clean throughout. The breakfast was superb, with very good machine-made coffee and a wide choice of quality products, all served by very accommodating members of staff. Also worth a mention is the freshly squeezed orange juice - a rare bonus in hotels. The hotel has a really nice vibe about it, partly created by an attentive and friendly staff who obviously care about the comfort of the guests. Great value for money and highly recommended! I'll definitely stay here on my next visit to Thessaloniki.

The greatest location. Right in the city center. It is a nice area with a 24/7 shop just a few steps away. I travelled with a big group and the independent check-in was ok. They don't have a 24/7 front desk but I didn't see it as a problem. The hotel is in an old building so it is fine if you like that vintage feel with a modern room. The breakfast was amazing and I highly recommend taking an option with breakfast included. I had a room upgrade and the bedroom was super nice and spacious and the high ceiling helped the room a lot.
The bathroom configuration is wierd. The sink is in the room and there is no door between the room and the bedroom. The toilet is enclosed in a small room with a glass door but to wash hands you have to get out and also to shower you have to do the same. Before booking just see the pictures first. And in my personal opinion, the temperature of the lights should all match in a room.

We had a nice and clean apartment with a balcony, where 3 of us fit perfectly. Even though the street was quite busy, we did not have any problems with noise. There is a small café by the entrance to the building, which also serves as reception, where you get instructions to get into your apartment. No key/card needed as you use codes only (both to building and to apartment). Our room was prepared 20 mins after we arrived, but we got some coffee and water on the house for the waiting, so we didnt see this as a problem. We choosed to include the breakfast in our price and I think it was a good call - the breakfast is served in the said cafe. You get a paere and choose what you want to eat and get it in 5-10 mins. The choices includes: omellette, boiled eggs, local pastry (sweet/savoury), greek salad, ham and chees toast, cereals, jogurt, marmelade, honey, butter, bread, coffee, tea and fresh orange juice (recomended!). The staff was super friendly and helpful. The location is good as you can walk to the majority of sights in the centre and also reach the bus stop from Airport (pl. Aristotelou - some 500 m). Only downsides: No ventilation from shower causing some mold and not too many places where you could store your clothes. Altogether, I think this is a good tip for 2-3 nights considering the price. Tips in local neighbourhood: Taverna o Loutros (50 m away), supermarket Masoutis 150 m (good tip for cheap lunch, as they sell hot meals in a plastic box for 4-6 €), bus stop at EL. Venizelou street (75 m away) - bus no. 23 takes you to the castle above city in some 20 mins, than you can walk back to city centre and enjoy the view on whole Thesalonikki area and the bay. The bus tickets can be bought at YES shop (24/7), also close to hotel (50 m).

Room was very comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice. Nespresso machine was a bonus in the room. We had a nice corner room on the 3rd floor.
we arrived quite late with no reception staff on duty. Whilst we had received a message with a door code for the building, it was not immediately apparent where the key pad or even the main door was! Better signage would be useful. Once indoors, all was fine. There was no furniture on the balcony.., a couple of little chairs would have been nice just to sit a while with a coffee or glass of wine and watch the world go by.

The staff were really friendly, considerate and helpful. At the end of our stay we had to get to Makadonia bus station but all the traffic was stalled with the Procession for St. Demitri. The hosts helped us work out the best way to travel in the circumstances - suggesting the bus to take and which stop to get it. It all worked out and we were so grateful to have the local knowledge available. The rooms were imaginatively designed for the space and the needs of guests were well catered for: a nice bottle of wine in the fridge, plus tea and coffee could be made in the room. All these thoughtful touches were really appreciated.
We liked everything!
