Hostal Antigua

Stayed here for 2 weeks in the dorm - but the privates look very decent too! Really good location! It is central enough that everything is walking distance but just on the outskirts of all the hustle and bustle - so it is quiet. The staff here were always pleasant to chat with and are always willing to help with any Q’s. They provide a towel and were able to give extra blanket when it got cold during the night. Facilities are always clean as they clean it every day. Wifi works fast and well. Solid kitchen - just have to bring your own herbs/spices/oil. Cute upstairs terrace to eat and relax on. Bonus: they have 2 cute friendly dogs as well!

Have Oil/cooking herbs and spices for convenience.

I liked the hot shower , best I have so far. I also liked the cortains in the bed so I did not have to socialize if I did not feel like. I liked the location and also I liked the kitchen upstairs. I also enjoyed the quiet time early to rest.

I liked it over all but it would be nice if they have so hammocks in the kitchen area just to chill there and do nothing. I also missed I little light on my bed , but I have a camping light so I figured out.

Quite we didn’t have any noise guests. Great location 2 blocks from the Square. Comfortable bed. 2 Lovely dog which also acted as security. Lovely roof top area with tables chairs kitchen with fridge microwave multi oven, stove and lots of pots cups etc.

Night porter wasn’t friendly said come back after 3pm We arrived at 6am No earlier check in even though we left at 3.30 am on leaving. so some rooms can get done early. But night porter did come out to our leaving transfer with something I had left behind

Overall a good base for a busy solo traveller going from tour to tour in Antigua and nearby villages. The staff was friendly and always ready to help with any questions I had. The bedroom was clean and the bed comfortable . The staff even kept asking if I wanted to have the room cleaned up everyday, which is fine by me.

Generally all good.

Excellent location, easy walk to the plaza. Quiet, with only a few rooms. We had a private room with private bath, it was small but adequate. Great WIFI and a TV with Netflix! Liked that we could have used the cooking facilities at the upstairs covered patio. Changed my mind about staying at a hostel! Would totally stay there again.

Was exactly what we needed for 5-6 hours of sleep. Staff was friendly and assisted us throughout the way.

Their transportation service did not pick us up from the airport. Ended up taking a taxi at 2:30am.

The rooms, the toilet and the beds are really clean. Everything is super cozy and the staff is amazing and very helpful! I've been here twice with my wife, definitely recommended!

It's a very minor thing, but it would be nice to have maybe a small light and a small shelf on each bed of the dormitory, just to keep the small things closer during the night :)

I'm not used to share room but in this case I did and everything was fine. I liked that they hold my small backpack while I was hiking the Acatenango volcano. They only charged me a small amount of Q5 which is less than 1 USD.

Lonely Planet got this right. Clean comfortable quiet. Two blocks from parque central. Very well maintained property. Functional kitchen on upstairs terrace. Stayed nine nights.

everywhere are papers with the costs of breaking things. kind of intimidating.
