The room and the entire place seems like a student dorm. The rooms have a kitchen inside them if you want to prepare your own stuff. Can be great to save some money. The property is exactly in the center of Akureyri, you can easily travel in the "city" from this location.

The blinds can be improved in case you are sensitive to light, they blocked the light but not enough for complete darkness. The place where you grab to eat has a weird layout and you get stuck waiting for other people, I think that they can re-arrange the tables to create two channels for better access. The price of the property was on the expensive side compared to others maybe due to the big inflow of tourists, not sure. I think that the price would be more comparable if it were 15% cheaper, not a big deal though.

Normal good personeel. After 0.0 hour reception occupied. Cosy with lounge. Room had everything that I need. Room service as well as in café as shop With food for take away Nice needle trees in garden behind. And several back up doors in case needed. Impressive number of hotelrooms.

Distance is.. mentioned 700 meters from center is more in fact. and first part was bbrrr up in a long steep street. Would be no problem by car but I came walking with luggage. Once you re there you forget because it is a very good vibe and plenty space. If you plan well there is a free regular citybus nr 2 towards hotel Edda to avoid climbing the first steep street direction Edda (with luggage whah). Once inside there even is a lift.

The staff were very helpful to us. The front desk manager allowed us to use the phone to contact whale watch company about a cancellation due to bad weather. We loved our room, which was large, clean, quiet, had comfortable bedding, a good shower, and overlooked a wooded area near the botanical garden (highly recommended, by the way). The morning breakfast buffet was worth the cost, as there was a variety of hot and cold dishes and plenty of options for vegetarians like my husband and me.

I wish that the hotel had been less busy with tour groups, as breakfast was crowded. It seemed like being on a huge cruise ship. It's probably best to go down to breakfast right when it opens, to beat the crowds.

The room was very nice and comfortable and staff was very helpful and friendly.

The room was not properly cleaned before our arrival, large amounts of trash from previous guests had not been cleared. Breakfast was a little chaotic and disorganzied.

The staff were amazing and very professional and helpful.

Overpriced. I did not pay for the room myself since it was a work trip, but 8900kr for a dinner buffet is an absolute joke. Since breakfast buffet was nothing special, there was no way I was trying out the dinner buffet at the same price as fine dining at the best restaurants in Reykjavik. Also 1900kr for a small 33cl canned alcoholic drink is Monaco prices. Greedy!

I have never been asked at a Booking hotel to give my credit card details if I should damage something. The rooms are very simple, clean and with high quality furniture so it would be difficult to damage anything. Breakfast is very expensive and there is no lift. Clean and good location.

no lift so if you have a room on upper floors you have to carry your luggage up yourself. Expensive breakfast.

The room is very spacious and equipped like a studio apartment for university student Plenty of wardrobe space and desk

Finding the parking place and front lobby was tricky. Suggest the hotel to update their address on Google map to avoid incidents like ours where we found the destination was private parking for staff in the back of the building and another side was university parking.

The hotel is very clean both in the rooms and the common areas The rooms is reasonnably comfortable for a room with shared facilities Location Easy parking Front desk staff Buffet dinner

I stayed at the hotel at four different times this summer and the elevator was broken all the time Not enough toilets and showers for the number of rooms with shared facilities Breakfast staff is unable to clear the tables and refill the food on time - at least two more staff would be necessary

Good location. Friendly and helpful staff - I asked about getting hot water and they gave me a kettle, also extra pillows. At first it didn't seem like there would be enough shared bathroom facilities, but there were never any issues getting to use showers or toilets. Showers were good. The hotel is a student accommodation unit for most of the year and only open as a hotel for 2 1/2 months.

Could do with a proper tap or facility to refill water bottles.

Room was great - we were upgraded after complaining that the room we were given was close to the entrance and people smoking outside there, and talking, was impacting us. They gave us a nicer and much bigger room since we were staying 4 nights, in the newer section of the hotel. The breakfast was delicious and very varied. A great value. Concierge staff were excellent.

There was no television in the room. Other than that, it was lovely.
