This hotel overlooks the harbour and The Harpa so our view was excellent. Our room was warm, relatively spacious, we were on the 5th floor and there was very little noise at night. We did not use the spa, it consisted of a sauna and a hot tub but we were never in the hotel long enough to use this facility. Reception staff were friendly informative and able to answer all of our questions. The sky bar on the 8th floor doubled as both the bar and restaurant for breakfast, the views from here are very good, at night its very atmospheric overlooking the Harpa and the harbour, both lit up, during the day the backdrop to both is snow covered mountains. Breakfast was the same every day, quite varied, selection of cold meats, cheeses or cooked food on offer, we had breakfast on four mornings and the food improved the earlier you ate, the staff in the restaurant didn't seem to like engaging with hotel guests, they tended to congregate behind the coffee machine and avoid any contact if possible. The bar is nicely furnished but its certainly the views that make it appealing. Our room was comfortable with everything we needed, ample room for myself and my friend, the small fridge was a bonus, housekeeping was excellent. The hotel is situated immediately across the road from bus stop no 5 which is used by all the tour/transfer buses so a perfect location also ideally situated for access the main shopping/nightlife of the city. I would stay at this hotel again if ever visiting Iceland again and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone thinking of going there.
Reception area appears very underused and there is not a lot in the way of tourist information, apart from that nothing really negative to comment on

Although there were few free spaces for cars, the car parking just outside the hotel by the main road was cheap and good. The rooms were cosy and comfy. The breakfast was your usual "all you can eat" type buffet but each morning there was enough for us to have to be set until lunch time. Staff were friendly and helpful. The receptionist always had a smile on their face each time we got through the door. They even helped me post a postcard to family! If you have booked tour bus excursions, they usually pick up outside a hostel called "KEX" this was only a 7 minute walk from the hotel which we found ideal too!
Small issue when the wind speeds are high, the window seemed to have a little crack somewhere so made a noise. Didn't disturb us too much to fall asleep as we were so tired after days full of activities.

The room is good...on the smaller size...but very good since you will not be spending most of your time in the room other than sleep. The bedding extremely comfortable...and I mean that. I am a person who has traveled extensively. However, the crown jewel for why you should consider this hotel is definitely the breakfast buffet, which is extremely well done with all the traditional...eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, fresh fruit, and really good bakery items. This breakfast is the number one reason I would return. Also, you are eating on the 8th floor overlooking the harbor and the striking Harpa performance hall. All staff members...front desk...cleaning crew...breakfast serving crew...all were very friendly, kind, and professional. Finally, I like the idea that all of the tour busses depart within a short walking distance from the Center Hotel.
There are not any real negatives. The shower is open type concept where water gets all over the floor and they have a squeegee in the room to use after showering. Please do not let this affect your decision on whether or not to stay.

Absolutely amazing hotel. We stayed 5 nights here and honestly, it is the best hotel we've ever stayed in! Location is excellent - Almost everything in Reykjavik city centre is in walking distance from this hotel. Our room was very warm, quiet and comfortable. The view was Out of this world- I would highly recommend a sea view room. Breakfast was excellent and there are lots of options to choose from. The sky bar is absolutely breathtaking (day and night) and this is also where breakfast is served. It was such a luxury to have spa facilities in the hotel and an amazing way to start or end the day (€20 pp). The staff are exceptional; so professional, kind, and helpful. A special shout out to Farooq, who was incredibly kind and so helpful with tips and advice on where to go in Reykjavik. We had to leave very early (3am)on our last day and they had croissants and hot beverages for us to take with us on our journey. We are greatly looking forward to returning here again.
Nothing negative to report.

The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was cooked, continental, or more local (fish, skyr that sort of thing). All options were good value and buffet style, so as much as you liked. We thought you would struggle to find a better location for a hotel in Reykjavik. The rooms were pretty quiet. Where it does excel is its location and the Sky Bar on the 8th floor. The views are simply amazing, Happy Hour brings most of the drinks down to a normal price.
The rooms were adequate, the reason I say this is that it is advertised as a 4-star hotel, but I don't think it would hold four stars in another European country.

Overall a very positive hotel stay, the staff were welcoming, and sorted the check in and check out processes swiftly upon arrival and departure. The room was spacious, and boasted a comfy bed, warm shower, TV with a variety of channels, and a mountain view, which was incredible, and only sporadically obstructed by the cloudy weather. Reykjavik is a small city, and the location was good for walking towards the main attractions, as well as being in very close proximity to one of the main bus stops for tours outside of the city.
The only slight issue was that the bathroom was more of a wet room, as the shower meant the whole floor got wet, despite the tiled flooring being raised a little outside the shower screen.

I and my daughter loved the hotel and its room immediately. It was a lovely large room with great facilities including a king size bed, large bathroom, fridge, kettle, cups and wine glasses. The breakfast was fantastic and both the breakfast/bar staff were polite and attentive; and the reception staff were lovely throughout including helping me book journeys when I'd broken my phone. The views from the Sky bar were amazing of Harpa and the sea and my daughter loved seeing the snow coming down out there on the balcony morning and night. We couldn't have asked for more! Great location too!
Nothing, just keep up the standards as they were amazing!

Convenient Location to walk around & also get to & from Bus Terminal (drop off Point in front of hotel & City Bus stop also Close). Sky Lounge Bar was a nice location (although even better in times of year when it is light enough to see). Spa area was nice for warming up.
Shower in our room was just a moveable door in bathroom. So every time we’d shower, you’d have to remove the water & watch where you walked for an hour or so until completely dry, so socks didn’t get wet. I saw other rooms with a tub so I’m unsure how many rooms like this

Location was excellent, great for exploring Reykjavík. We managed to park in the hotel parking spaces the whole time we were there which was a bonus. Room was fine for what we needed it for, nice and cosy. Underfloor heating made it really warm which was lovely after the temperatures outside! Staff were helpful. The Sky Bar is worth a visit, beautiful, chilled setting. Great views from the bar too.
A lot of noise in the room. Cleaners cupboard was right outside our door and they were so loud throughout the morning/afternoon. Not only banging but talking really loudly. You can hear the people next door to your room really loudly too. The doors/walls aren’t soundproofed at all so you can hear other families’ conversations as they go back to their room. A lot of people come back late into the hotel (1am/2am in the morning) because the Northern Lights tours are on really late, so the corridor can be quite loud around this time. We also had some really windy days, the noise was horrendous in the rooms. This obviously can’t be helped but one to bear in mind. I think it’s due to being so close to the water, but the noise made it really difficult to sleep.

The rooms had everything that you needed.the hotel is in an older building, and from the moment you walk in, you receive a warm welcome and good atmosphere if you live out of town and coming into Reykjavik for events at Harpa Hall. Perfect location.the sky bar. has views over the harbour and good feel for quick drinks before venturing out to sample the surronding area as you're in the heart of the downtown Reykjavik simple but plentiful breakfast is served in the sky bar.views add to the wake-up experience.
The t.v only carried English channels and Ruv. It would have been good to have simmins /Dr1.Sky News. Etc. The vendor machine only carried drinks.would have been nice to carry some snacks 😋.
