Reykjavik Residences are a group of houses. The house we stayed on the top floor of is an old house which used to be the residence of the Prime Minister. It had character and charm.

Our apartment was in the attic with lots of windows which is great except could have used some better blackout curtains as the light filtered in all night (it never really gets dark in summer).

I was a little concerned going into this reservation because you don't know your location until the last minute but it was a perfect location. Close enough to walk to the main street but far enough away so that you didn't hear everyone at the bars and restaurants. The room was perfect for the 4 of us. We got a separate bedroom with a full size pull out couch. Plenty of drawers and closet space. Kitchen with stove top and dishwasher. A full basket of food for breakfast every morning. So much food. A full loaf of bread, butter, cream cheese, nutella, jelly, yogurt, cheese, meat, nuts, eggs, milk, juice, etc.

I don't really have anything negative to say. I just wish there was parking for the apartment but you have to find parking on the street. It wasn't a problem the first two nights we were there but it was hard to find parking on that Friday night. We were worried about leaving in the car at night in fear of losing our parking spot. There was a whole parking lot next to the apartment that stayed empty. I think it belonged to the property next door that was having construction work done to it. It would be nice if they could contract with that property to use it.

There wasn’t nothing to not like about the property, we went to the main reception which is only a few minutes walk from all the properties in the chain to place our bags to save with us being early and straight away we was allowed to check in and get into our room 3 hours early, very expertly directed to our hotel and aided and advised how to enter the property using the FLEXIPASS app (which the information had already been sent electronically by the company) by the receptionist. The room was very clean, set out superbly with everything one would need including, fridge, (milk and apple juice) dish washer, coffee machine with ample amount of various pods, kettle and toaster. Wet room was amazing, spacious with multiple bottles of toiletries which was all high end. Shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body cream and hand wash and gel. Nice large double bed which I asked for when booking, very comfy with enough pillows, the room had 2 radiators with a radiator/towel rail in the wet room. Dining table and flat screen tv with English channels on the wall added to the quality of this hotel.

There was nothing not to like about this property. If staying in Reykjavik I would highly recommend this chain of hotels.

We stayed in building 78 Hverfisgata, two minutes down the street from the reception. Our room #512 was just what we hoped for: practical, with simple but pleasant modern design, and with everything one needs for a few days stay full of day trips around the country. I arrived very early, and the hotel did everything they could to speed up my check in. Although the official check in is 15:00, they already let us in at 11:00! A big favor after an overnight transatlantic flight. We requested a more quiet room, and we got a room in the back building, not facing the potentially noisy walking area. We requested twin beds, and that was what we got. The room was clean and well lit, with enough electric plugs which is not always the case in hotels. The kitchenette was well equipped and in perfect order: a coffee maker, a teapot, a small stove, a MW, kitchen towels, utensils, dishes, all in place and of proper quality. The hotel even supplied coffee capsules and promptly refilled the used ones, a nice touch which made life easier since we were away most of the days and did not have time for grocery shopping except the first evening when we bought the basics for the five days we were to stay. The daily room service was excellent. Every single person we met in the hotel was friendly and helpful, especially Cezar who helped us figure out transportation to the airport on a rainy day. I had problems with my elbow, and Cezar kindly carried my suitcase from my room to the place where my taxi waited for me. With three bus stops not far from the hotel buildings, pick ups were convenient. I recommend putting bus stop #6, #9, or #14 as places for your tour pickups. The hotel buildings are all in the center with everything you might want to see within walking distance.

Walking uphill from the bus stop was a challenge. Doable, but you need to be reasonably strong to pull all the luggage up the street to the hotel. So think through your logistics between KEF and the hotel.

LOCATION: very good. it is 2 buildings away from a bus stop where most buses from the airport would drop you off & most tour buses/vans pick you up. there is a bar/restaurant near our room (#807) & Fri & Sat nights can get noisy ENTRY: you use a Flexipas app. they email you a passcode the day you arrive. At the main door of the building, we had a hard time figuring out how to position the phone on the app reader on the building wall. We called their 24/7 front desk who assisted us promptly. It would be better if they have a visual guide at the main door how to do this ROOM: great beds & pillows; has a tv; kitchenette has a stove, microwave, ref, sink, pots, plates & utensils, dishwashing soap & scrub. Cupboard is built high & for petite girls, this is a challenge. They provide a safe in the room & robes too BATHROOM: they provide L'occiante products (shower gel, shampoo & conditioner) in the shower area & bathroom sink has hand gel & lotion. It has a rack to warm your towel. It has a small area under the mirror for your personal stuff & another small area above the toilet for personal stuff. Towel bars are too high & very challenging for petite girls MISC: - if you choose not to have your room cleaned, they give you a free-drink card you can take to their bar (different location from our apartment but walkable). The bartender though had to call someone to verify how to go about the free-drink cards saying "this is new" - fire alarm sounded 1 day we were there & someone from the reception area (different location from our apartment but walkable) was there within a few minutes to turn it off. There was no fire or smoke but he knocked on every door & checked the rooms - staff answers emails & calls right away

Amazing location, with easy access to tour bus stops, walkable to restaurants and downtown Reykjavik. Apartment was super cozy and ideal for our family of four. Breakfast and bread delivery were amazing value and made our mornings very easy. We could even see the Northern Lights from our balcony one night 🙂

Our stay at Reykjavik Residence Apartment Hotel during out trip was very enjoyable! The studio apartment we stayed in was fantastic and located perfectly for exploring the city! Our studio had: - full kitchenette with fridge, dishwasher, microwave, stovetop, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, sink, dishes, cutlery, cooking/prepping utensils, pots/pans, etc. - small breakfast table w/ 2 chairs, TV, shelf, 2 beds. - closet area/rack was really nice and spacious, made it easy to store and organize clothes and accessories. It even had 6 drawers. - full length mirror on the wall. - bathroom with walk in shower. PROS: - The location is amazing! It is a short walk to get to anywhere! Bus stop #14 is nearby, about a block and a half away. This is where all the tours and airport drop-off and pickups occur. Walking into main streets with shopping, restaurants, pubs (there is an Irish Pub a block away!), bodegas, downtown, and sightseeing is all really close by! Also every time you leave for the day you are 2 blocks from a spectacular view of the water and gorgeous mountains! - The amenities were better than expected! The cleaning staff always did a fantastic job when needed! It had all the standard needs like coffee, tea, sugar, towels, etc plus some super extras! The bonus items included cereal, milk, and orange juice!!! The cleaning staff also replenished these items! I loved this perk! - The walk in waterfall shower was very enjoyable! Pressure was great and hot water always instantly available! - The beds were very comfortable and we both enjoyed our night's rest and naps! - The wifi worked great and was super fast! 5 STARS A+++ Highly Recommend!

CONS: The cons aren't noteworthy at all and did not affect our stay! Still give it a perfect rating! - Only 2 channels available on the television, one of which was in English. - No general seating area, only 2 small eating chairs for the table or the beds. A nice small couchette would be handy. - Loud at times from both the common area outside by the restaurant/bar and from the hallway/staff/neighbors. Nothing too bad, but napping during the day may be difficult to some. - Temperature in the room was very warm. Even though we had both heaters/radiators turned off (bathroom and main living space). Since windows were small and are only on one side of the space it was hard to get airflow throughout.

The hotel has several apartments in the downtown area, mine is near the cultural center. the location is great, every popular tourist sight is within walking distance, whenever you want to do some sightseeing or shopping, it only takes a walk. The room is very cozy and clean and the size is perfect for one person, though the closet in my opinion would be too small for two people. The bathroom is big and they provide very good quality body and skin care products that you can wash away all exhaustion after a day of traveling. The kitchenette is small but has everything you need to cook a proper meal, and there’s even a coffee machine with various kinds of coffee caps. the staff of reception is very helpful and friendly and provides a lot of useful information for first time Iceland travelers. overall I really enjoy my stay, can’t recommend this place enough ☺️

the apartment I stay doesn’t have an elevator, which is something you always need to keep in mind when traveling in Europe (many of them don’t)

+ Very nice house probably one of the oldest in the city, but perfectly renovated. + Very comfortable apartment with all the necessary stuff. + Perfect location for walking in downtown and very close to the bus stop. + Even in July we were able to use heating. Very important for Iceland.

We lived on the first floor and half of the windows in our studio were covered with blurred film for privacy, it was a bit strange but in general, I can highly recommend this apartment.
