Dublin, while a nice city, is a bit scruffy and we are not used to big cities. The Aberdeen was at the end of 2 buslines, and within 10 minues walk of a DART train line. A few miles from the bustle of downtown Dublin. We are from a small town in USA, not used to public transport. But, with very little effort we were able to get to/from the Aberdeen and downtown Dublin, with little time or stress! Very cool. I would definitely stay here again! Pat was great, greeting us with tea and tips, and their 2 awesome dogs. Breakfast great. Stay here! If you want the loud party atmosphere, you can get there quick. If you don't, well, this place is in a nice quiet neighborhood. Best of all worlds in my opinion.

Uh, nothing we didn't like.

The hotel is big but so cosy. Staff are brilliant. Beds are are so comfortable that I considered staying an extra night

Was at a wedding in the hotel and couldn't check in until after the ceremony even though I had called in advance to request an earlier check in. They did hold our bags whilst we changed in the leisure centre rooms but it wasn't ideal. Lots of empty rooms so I guess it could have been facilitated if they tried

What a fab hotel setting was so beautiful and quiet Breakfast was amazing everything you could think of and more to choose from over all the staff was excellent so helpful , Pool and sauna looked amazing I did not use as I had an eye infection .Foods was so good in the bistro

Finding the room was a challenge indeed we was on the second floor yet rooms numbered 100 + was what felt like on the same floor anyway we found our way ,Noisy residence chatting at 6.30am had to get up and tell them to be quiet lots of banging doors early morning and late at night but that was the guest with no consideration for others

Staff was very helpful and the room we had was very nice. My husband is from Ireland and this was my second trip to Ireland for a wedding that was held at the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the room spacy enough for the both of us. I personally am from Finland and I have nothing bad to say about this experience. Would definitely come again!!

Only thing missing in the room was a mini fridge/mini bar to keep drinks cool :)

Breakfast room was chaotic & loud , as we were there towards finishing time and my expectation wasn’t the best . However , breakfast was really good . I asked for porridge and my husband asked for poached eggs , both items were not at the buffet, but brought to us really quickly and were freshly cooked and hot ! . Brown bread excellent too

Hotel is a bit dated and could do with a makeover , especially the bar . However room was clean , everything we wanted was included and breakfast very good .

They had pet friendly rooms. The pool was a nice size and staff were attentive

The food was rather disappointing. The menu in the bar area was bog standard that you seem the get everywhere in Connemara. One choice of Fish, steak, pasta, curry and a few others. The curry felt like I was eating leftovers with a few fresh garnishes to top it off. Plenty of it mind. But I had expected more for a 4* hotel. Staff were great.

I loved everything. That simple. Staff. Facilities. Comfort. Garden. Fabulous quiet location, while not being far from the centre. Excellent bus service. Plenty of taxis available. Prom not far away. Reception very professional. Full marks Aoife.

Something you must understand about Galway is the weather is very changeable. However, with the right gear, you will have no problem having a ball. Galway is just great craic.

I liked that it wasn’t in the city, that you couldn’t hear all the noise it was peaceful and lovely. The food in the bistro was absolutely amazing! The breakfast wasn’t as good but still great. The receptionists were so lovely and welcoming. Beds were absolutely Devine! Bear sleep I’ve had in weeks.

I was disappointed that there wasn’t a kettle and tea/coffee station in my room, I was saddened at that. There also wasn’t actual hand soap, I had to use body wash for my hands which I found odd. Also the shower head placement was awful. i didn’t take a shower because of it.

Breakfast was very good and was included in the price. There was a buffet but could also select from a small menu. The Bistro pub was great. The Pesto chicken sandwich was excellent. Receptionists were very friendly and helpful. Garden were very pretty and well maintained.

No AC in most rooms, which I did not realize when booking, but main hotel and hallways were. One small elevator for our area of the hotel, but amazingly we never had to wait. We arrived on a Sunday and they had a wedding. The dining areas appeared to need more staff.

It was only a one night stay after a graduation but the hotel has a welcoming feel, the staff were friendly and the room was lovely and cosy with everything you could want, hairdryer, iron, coffee/tea making facilities ,safe and a nice touch of complimentary bottled water. The bar was a nice place for a nightcap and breakfast in the dining room was plentiful and varied.. When I am back in Galway I will definitely be returning for a longer stay at the Ardilaun.

Nothing bad to report.
