Great customer service all round

The musk,,dampness in the room and hall way, I had quickly learnt to pull the drapes over the table to allow the hidden heater dry the room out

It is a warm cosy welcoming establishment . It has its own style and personality, with very friendly accommodating staff. Lounge area with different styled relaxing chairs and sofas. Food was good. Hot and flavoursome. Pool warm and was of a good size and as unable to swim it is 1.2 meters deep throughout which was good for me. Good nights sleep in large comfortable bed. Lovely spacious room with Tea and coffee facilities in room. Lots of parking space.

Not that I didn’t like and nothing spoilt our stay, but need to point out that maintenance and update is required in most areas due to wear and tear. If using the pool and changing area ,You will need to take a small lock and key as lockers don’t lock. This area does need an upgrade.

We liked The old Style of the building and the different style of chairs in the lounge. Our room was spacious and had a warm comfortable feeling ( room 8). The spa area and pool looked great but due to our late arrival we didn’t get time to use it. The Manager was friendly and had time for a friendly chat. The lovely receptionist was helpful and friendly along with the restaurant staff. A bit out of season to go on the terrace. A very pleasant stay for us.

The plastic card door key system took several attempts to get in the room each time. There is a lot of wear and tear on furnishings and doors. This did not put us off. The establishment had an inviting appeal. We will return soon.

Hotel is in a great location, 5mins to Chester, 10 mins Cheshire oaks designer outlet and shopping village, close to M56 and M53 motorways, right on the north Wales border, the staff were really polite and although we never ate at the hotel we spoke to others who did that said the food was good and reasonably priced. We did use the gym and swimming Pool both of which were clean and well maintained Would definitely stay again

I wouldn't say that there was anything we didn't like Although the hotel is clean I would say that the whole place is in need of a little freshen up as the decor is a little dated

Very good location for everything we wanted to do around Chester. Rooms were decent sizes and beds were very comfy. Pool and spa were always well kept and the spa treatment we had was outstanding. The food was incredible. The staff were absolutely amazing, so welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The manager is possibly one of the best hotel managers I’ve even come across, a really down to earth guy who strives for the best for both his customers and his staff.

Only thing I could really say is that it maybe needs modernising in some areas, but I wouldn’t say it was a dislike or that it impacted our stay at all.

2nd time we have stayed at this hotel, it is a little dated decor wise but the place is clean. The gym is adequate and the pool is great. Location is ideal for hitting the motorway network, you have chester city 10mins away Cheshire oaks designer outlet roughly 15mins away, and the north wales border just up the road, you could be in Llandudno the queen of welsh resorts in less than an hours drive, so much to do and see We will stay here again soon

Nothing, you get what you get for the price that you pay

Staff were excellent, made my 5yr old son feel very welcome and important! Room was very clean, food was good and very well served too. No complaints about the hotel at all.

Swimming pool was only usable on the morning we were checking out and that was one of the main reasons we booked here. We still got to use it that morning and understand that these things happen due to maintenance but we were disappointed to not be able to use it more. The staff did inform us the morning of the day we were arriving, so that part of the process was very efficient.

The hotel is excellent value for money - with the staff friendly and always very helpful. The swimming pool & spa facilities was also very good with an excellent breakfast the following morning. The cleanliness could not be faulted either and I would definitely stay at his venue in the future with the taxi fare into Chester costing us about £7 and less than a tenner £10 on the way back about midnight.

Check-in time at 3pm in the afternoon is not ideal. The hotel requires to be updated, but that did not affect our enjoyment in staying at this location for one night.

Only stopped for one night so all I was really after was a place to sleep and a place to have shower.

Everything was ok, until I came to have a quick shower when I arrived in the afternoon before going out . (Cab was booked ) I ended having to have a COLD shower! (It never even started to get warm let alone hot!) Same thing in the morning when I showered prior to getting dressed and checking out. I went into the bathroom and turned on the shower and was able to boil the kettle and make a cup of tea BEFORE the shower ran hot! Unfortunately I forgot to mention this when I checked out in the morning .

The hotel is better than its 3 stars, quite homely, with comfortable warm rooms, nice facilities and a good restaurant, the check in and out is quick and easy, the staff are very pleasant and helpful, also in a great location, around ten minutes from the centre of Chester and with free parking unlike many in the city.

We liked everything, some small areas would benefit from decoration but as with any building of its age this will be ongoing, ,
