First of all, the hotel is very close to the train station by foot, huge advantage! Apart from that, the lady at the reception was absolutely perfect! Lovely woman, always with a smile and happy to help. The room was really nice, tidy and clean! Definitely recommend!

A room with a stunning view of the Duomo- RESULT! The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating on site. It was a great location and very good facilities.

I had severe reservations about having to send a copy of my passport because we were checking-in around 7.30. With so much fraud around I do not think it is a sensible idea to ask for such precious information across the internet these days. Whilst I understand how the staffing here works AFTER my visit, before we arrived, it all seemed rather irregular and so I would aim to explain to future guests how the system works, and how I suppose that factors into the value for money. Personally I don't really like having to go out for breakfast as it was not provided at the hotel. Finally and this is really minor, the room safe was on a shelf that was at a 20 degree angle which I found mildly irritating!

I had an amazing stay at Essence Hotel. The location is perfect—right in the heart of Florence, making it easy to explore all the major sights while also away from the noisy crowded streets. What truly made my experience unforgettable was the incredible reception stuff. As it was my first time in Florence and being a solo traveler, she went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, offering fantastic recommendations not only for the must-see landmarks but also for hidden gems that gave me a more authentic experience of the city. Her kindness, passion, and deep knowledge of Florence made my trip so much more special. The hotel itself was comfortable, clean, and had a great atmosphere. If you’re looking for a place with excellent service and a fantastic location, I highly recommend staying here.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. When I checked in, the man at the front desk (I think his name was Luca) was so eager to show me things to do while I was in Florence. He took out a map and circled a lot of things for me. He is very proud of his city and wanted to show me all the wonderful things to do and see. He answered all my questions. He also helped carry my luggage and walked me to my room. When I checked out they happily called a cab for me. The room was spotless and was very new with all new fixtures. I also felt it was a very good size. Great price too!

Stepping out of the hotel, you’ll find yourself in a charming park where an antique market is open on weekends. I highly recommend visiting if this is something you’re interested in. The reception operates only until the evening, but this didn’t interfere with my plans. It was easy to arrange my check-in time in advance, and the hotel manager contacted me about this shortly after I made my booking. I was greeted warmly, positively, and with great friendliness! They provided me with a phone number to reach out to in case I had any questions when no one was at the reception. They responded quickly through WhatsApp. The room was designed in a modern, minimalist style. It was clean, warm, and cozy. The room was heated by an air conditioner, and I could adjust the temperature myself. It felt almost like being in my own apartment. The fridge was stocked with complimentary bottles of water, and there were also tea bags available. The bed was large and comfortable, as were the pillows. My windows faced the inner courtyard and nearby buildings, making the room quiet and peaceful. The area itself is also very calm, yet within walking distance of the city center.

The shower cabin in my bathroom didn’t have a door, so the water spread across the bathroom floor quite quickly. It wasn’t a big issue—I laid down towels to absorb it—but it did surprise me. There were no disposable slippers. The bathroom only had soap and a few packets of 2-in-1 shampoo and shower gel. I believe this is part of the hotel’s effort to use less plastic, which I respect. Since I always travel with my own toothbrush, toothpaste, and body cream, it wasn’t an issue for me. There was only one outlet for both the fridge and the kettle (or perhaps I missed other outlets). I had to unplug one to use the other. Also, the kettle cord wasn’t long enough to reach the outlet, so I had to place it on the floor to use it.

Hotel is located in a quiet part of Florence, which is great if you wish to avoid the throng of tourists, but at the same time, the local attractions in including the Duomo and the Mercato are within walking distance (8min walk) . You can also catch a bus to the Piazzale Michelangelo from the square across the hotel. The receptionist, Rafaella was wonderful. I could tell she loves to help tourists make the most of their stay in Florence. Bed was comfortable, room was very clean. Would love to stay there again!

Not much

The hotel has this old elevator that is charming. Room was very clean and has good amenities, they give free water bottles, 1 for each day of my stay there. They gave me lots of towels and replenish them each day. The staff are very helpful, they will communicate with you and offer you help. You can leave your luggage at the reception for storage. The receptionist during my stay even booked for me to a great traditional restaurant on my last day there.

We felt a very warm welcome by Lucca at the front desk, he was very kind to explain us Florence on a Map. The hotel is beautiful, new, and very well located, in front of a park, far enough from herds but everything is walking distance.

Everything was perfect! The room was clean with a lovely bathroom. It’s very close to the city center. What stood out the most was how kind and polite the staff were. Everyone was incredibly friendly, always smiling, and eager to help! They even took our car and arranged parking with a partnered garage! It was a great convenience. I will definitely stay at this hotel again when I visit Florence next time.

Get a view room as the city and park views are awesome. Florence is not a very big city. This hotel is very walkable to city sites, restaurants, and shopping. The bathroom setup was very good and had good water pressure. Room had useful extra shelves and closet/hanging space.

Although the room was pretty clean overall, I think the cleanliness could be a little bit better.
