The location of Hotel Balcony is perfect. It is located a short walking distance from the train station and to the main tourist attractions. Friendly and helpful staff (owner). The breakfast was thoughtfully prepared offering various options to cater for varying dietary requirements. Our twin room had opening windows and included a small bar refrigerator, the bathroom was clean with good water pressure and hot water.

Whilst not a big issue overall, the room adjoined a shared terrace where guests could (and did) smoke. Unfortunately as non-smokers (and as an asthmatic) it was necessary to keep the windows closed which created some stuffiness in the room.

The hotel is not like a perfect boutique hotel or super charming old building with architectural details. I had a comfy room updated to today’s aesthetic with a cool wallpaper and decorative details, the bathroom was a little dated but very functional and clean. But what made everything GREAT is the warmth of the manager (owner?). I felt at home right away.

At first I was disappointed with my view - into a tiny courtyard seeing a building a few meeters from my window - BUT it was also very quiet which I valued more than a view and I still saw some sky :) Plus O could go to « the balcony » if I needed a reminder of where I was.

We felt that we were staying with family. This is a small hotel with about 14 well decorated rooms. It is owned and operated by a husband, wife and their son. They were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. The location is superb. The Duomo is a few hundred meters from hotel. And the direct tram from the Florence Airport also stops a few hundred meters away.

A lift would have been convenient.

Great location and bonus balcony with a view of the Duomo. Balcony is a nice place for a group to sit and visit. Owner and day worker were friendly and helpful in selecting a restaurant for our dinner. Rooms were decent size and they were able to put our 4 rooms near each other. Plenty of hot water for showers. Good offerings for breakfast if you choose to include it in your rate, a little of everything; pastries, fruit, meat, cheese, and a machine to make your preferred style of coffee. Good space to sit and eat for our group of 7 without taking up all the tables.

Had a bit of trouble flushing the toilet, maybe due to water pressure. But not that big of a deal in the long run.

The location was very handy being close walk to the duomo and other attractions. The room was clean and tidy and modernised compared to the bathroom. There was also access to the terrace along the corridor. The staff were friendly and we were given a map of the key attractions.

The Wi-Fi was very poor, sometimes had to go into the bathroom to try and get it to connect. Another mention is that the bathroom is a bit old fashioned but nothing major.

Great location, Just a few mins from the Train Station, and to the main touristy area as well as to the Market. Room seems old but newly refurbished so new wallpapers and furniture. They have a cute balcony with tables and chairs where you can sit down and enjoy the Florence afternoon, and lean out to admire the view of the Duomo.

They let you leave your luggage at the hotel, before check in / after check out, but the place you leave it I felt was a little bit exposed to the guests.

Lovely staff who accomodated an early breakfast to be able to run the Firenze marathon. Great location at a walking distance from every monument and transportation. Clean rooms.

The rooms aren't well isolated for sound as I was able to clearly hear the people in the next room speaking, and the opening/closing of doors is quite loud. Some parts of the room were quite old and showing some wear and tear.

The location is unbeatable. You can see the Duomo, and it's a few minutes away from the train station. Main attractions are all close by. The hotel is run by its owners who are caring, friendly, and helpful. The rooms are spacious and super extra clean. The owners are always available until 10 pm, just in case you need anything. We're coming back for sure.

Nothing really.

The staff were excellent and very patient with our questions and needs. Very friendly and helpful. They exceeded expectations. Breakfast was off-site and down the block in an espresso bar and was very good. Cappuccino was hot ( which is hard to find in Italy), we find it to be Luke-warm at best, and croissants and sandwiches were excellent.

Only big disappointment was no air-conditioning in October. Claimed it was because city cut off 1&2 Star hotels from using it. Cool enough at night but had to open windows for moving air and mosquitoes were an issue.

Reception person was very friendly! The room was clean and close to the busy city center. Location was not difficult to find and it’s walking distance from the train station.

The air conditioning machine is very loud …hard to sleep with the noise but too hot and not enough air circulation the window to turn it off.
