Hotel Spagna is very centrally located in Florence, and it only takes a few minutes to get to the train station by foot. Arriving by car was not the easiest, but we did find a car park very close by. Our room was clean and tidy, and the air conditioning worked well. Florence is a very beautiful city and it was very easy to reach all of the main tourist destinations from the hotel by foot. If you have time, I recommend that you visit the leaning tower of Pisa, which is easy to reach by train.

My only negative was that we were unable to tune the television into any channels, but that was not a big issue for us.

We didn't have breakfast at Hotel Spagna. However, there is a big market, Mercato Centrale Firenze, not far away with wonderful pastries and fresh fruit. We purchased 10 excellent (big) pastries for less than 10 Euros. The hotel location is excellent for exploring the old town and the staff are very helpful. The train to and from the airport is located a few steps away, at the end of the street. The windows are soundproof.

The wallpaper was peeling in my quad family room, there's water damage in the ceiling, the toilet seat is smaller than the toilet bowl. The pictures on the website look better than in person, but the value/location are excellent.

Location was excellent- easy to get to many attractions. Huge bonus was its proximity to the train station as I used the train a lot while in Italy to blitz many areas. The staff was very accommodating as my plans for arrival changed (I’m sure if I communicated earlier they would have waived the late arrival fee). The staff from booking was big on checking when you’d arrive and followed up closer to my check in date. Without question on my check out date they offered to hold my bags (perfect as I planned to explore Florence). The room like many was simple and comfortable. Cleaned up and got a great rest there!

I’m not sure if they had an elevator. Lots of walking in Italy; so what’s some stairs? Recommend checking into whether they have an elevator if it’s a necessity for you.

Great location on the road between the train station and cathedral. It's 2 star so don't expect luxury but actually you can tell that the rooms were redecorated with decent fittings previously and the shower was a rainfall shower with added attachments. The air con worked well and was needed as it was quite humid when I stayed. Cleanliness was good and the staff were always very friendly and helpful.

There were no bedside lights and no hooks or towel rails in the bathroom to hang the towels. Although the room was redecorated previously it was starting to fray at the edges. With wallpaper starting to come off etc. The communal hall and stairs could do with a refresh too

The staff was phenomenal, wish every place had service like this! The rooms look very nice, they have a certain charm, that makes the whole experience even more special, while visiting this gorgeous city. Location is also in point. If you arrive by train - look no further, because it’s the best distance from the station AND the city centre. All in all - a great experience. Grazie!

Lack of natural lighting in the room, made it difficult to gauge the time of day, weather and apply makeup.

Location!! Amazingly placed in midst of city at a walking distance from main train station, from main attractions and walking from all great eateries. Staff was very friendly and helpful, very quick response on Booking messenger and very kind for every ask. I wanted to drop my luggage in between my two trains and it worked smooth except some running back to station due to shortage of time of-course. Hotel reception was prepared to take care of my luggage and the same worked smooth when I left luggage the next day on check-out. I did not manage to open my hotel door due to lock mechanism but hotel staff was quick to arrive even at 10 PM and was pleasant in greeting. Room was tidy and spacious. I missed having an elevator in hotel with heavy luggage, apart from that ... everything was super good.

I missed having an elevator in hotel.

The position was great, right in the middle of Florence and so close to the train station. The staff were very friendly and helpful and let us store our bags the day we were leaving as our train wasn’t until later in the afternoon. The room was nice too.

Sadly they have no lift, unfortunately there wasn’t anyone who could take our bags up the stairs when we arrived but thankfully there was someone who took our bags down the stairs the day we left.

I only stayed a night at the hotel as my flight was cancelled and had to find a new affordable place to stay for another day. I chose it due to its perfect location; just a couple of minutes away from tram and train station and to walking distance to all the attractions. room was very clean and staff very helpful and polite. I liked the decor and the hotel was refurbished with a functional bathroom and a lot of space. definitely positive that it had a mini fridge, was my second requirement as I needed it to store medicine. very comfortable for the night and good selection of toiletries. double glazing on the windows hence I couldn’t hear the noise from the street

the only thing I missed was a tray to make a cup of coffee and a kettle but that’s understandable in view of its rating and price. in the evening I could hear the resident of the next room talking on the phone and lastly instead of a double bed there were two single beds next to each other which was a slight concern as I usually sleep in the middle of the bed

The hotel staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful. I was able to leave my luggage there for a few hours while I waited for my afternoon train. Hotel Spagna is a ten-minute casual walk from the train station (Santa Maria Novella). It is a three minute casual walk to the Florence Cathedral, Santa Maria Del Fiore (see photo with moon). The property is being remodeled and upgraded gradually. The main lobby is small and beautiful, with white marble floors and Versace wall tiles (see photos). The shower is fancy. It had a large showerhead, the wand on a hose hand shower, and something very different: two showerheads that sprayed water at you horizontally (see photo). My room had a ductless air conditioner. It was nice to have because in late October it was still very warm and somewhat humid in Florence. There was a small refrigerator. The room had new wallpaper with a Greek key design. The windows were old and they opened. The oldness of the windows did not bother me.
