The place has a nice atmosphere and rooms are comfortable. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The reception staff was great and very helpful. We also dined in once and can say the food was amazing, although fairly expensive. Also the breakfast was nice and we had a great choice of foods.

The location is sometimes exciting but not in a good way. It's great in terms of closeness to main sights, but we felt observed and didn't feel 100% safe in the evenings.

Charming friendly welcome, informal but attentive. I left my bags at the hotel in the morning I arrived and they were in my room when I checked in later. Proper lounge with deep leather chesterfields sofas and chairs. Fabulously comfy room with proper table, sofa, tiny balcony with view of historic buildings, reasonable mini bar prices, more breakfast than anyone could eat and all fresh & delicious. Some people seem to have worried about the location. The hotel is actually very close indeed to some famous sights & in 4 days in Palermo (only one night at the hotel) I didnt come across any area with such a good vibe or concentration of things I wanted to see. Yes, Palermo has extremes of wealth and poverty and is (always has been I suppose) a multi-cultural city, but I never felt remotely threatened. As the restaurant was closed I asked for directions to somewhere to eat. The concierge drew me a route on a tourist map and I walked 400 metres to the main pedestrian area with dozens of bars and eateries.I am male but old and lame and an obvious tourist. A 12 year old could mug me. I did see a poor old fellow with soggy pants (I hoped because it had been raining earlier) and thought I heard some small boys call him crazy but walking to my meal in daylight or back in the dark, and in surroundings earlier in the day I always felt safe, safer than I would in London or other large UK cities.

Restaurant & bar closed Monday when I was there but that's v common in Sicily. I can't comment on the garden as I had breakfast indoors as it was early & chilly.

Hotel exceeded our expectation, room was large with separate bathroom. Breakfast was a continental one with all that you would expect including scrambled eggs and boiled eggs, get to breakfast early if you want your eggs warm. Location is excellent for the markets in the old town and the main tourist streets and attractions. Only 10 minute walk from the central railway station.

You could feel the springs in the mattress and the air conditioning is a bit noisy so had to turn it off to sleep. Room overlooked side street that was covered with discarded rubbish but this would appear to be normal throughout Sicily.

Classy hotel near the older parts of Palermo, and right next to the large Ballaro market (a short walk to Capo and Vucciria markets). Very well presented with large spacious rooms and excellent bathroom. Warm and comfortable. Staff really friendly and very helpful. We had free parking right at the hotel door, but this is limited. If you're driving make sure you ask the hotel to arrange a central Palermo traffic pass for every day of your stay even if you don't use your car.

The hotel was wonderful. It was well maintained and had that old world charm about it. The breakfast options were limited but normal for Italy. The location is very central with the sweet market just around the corner and many great monuments nearby

The hotel was located in a somewhat seedy part of town and it was not unusual to see serious drug use near the front of the hotel. As a solo traveler l didn't always feel comfortable returning to the hotel late at night. Having said this the hotel staff assured me the area was safe

Despite reading a few comments about the "not so pleasant" neighborhood, we had a great time and didn't feel unsafe at all. Yes, there's a few issues, but all in all, the location is very good. We had a lovely stay, great breakfast in the hotel. Beautiful building. The noise of the city didn't really bother us, even at night. It's a southern city, expecting it to be quiet would be a mistake.

In earlier mails, the hotel advised me to park just in front of the hotel. Glad I didn't do that. I think the car would have been stuck for weeks by other parked cars. :) Parking at Piazza Orlando was very easy and just about 20 minutes walking to the hotel. Didn't bother us at all.

The hotel itself was lovely the breakfast was ok but a little basic compared to some of the others we stayed at during our time in Sicily.

The actual location of the hotel was close to the market and the area immediately surrounding the hotel had several rough sleepers which initially made us a bit wary about walking around and the security of the vehicle. However, all was ok and everything looked better on the Monday when more was open around us, would sugggest not arriving on a Sunday afternoon. Restaurant in hotel didn’t open on a Monday which we weren’t told until we tried to book.

Breakfast was excellent and the desk staff was very helpful. Our room was huge and gorgeous and my daughter appreciated having her own little room. From our room we could watch a number of neighbor cats sit on their patio wall and watch diners eat below, which was fun. Close to everything. Would definitely stay here again.

Only that it was somewhat difficult to follow the menu selections for dinner without a written menu, but that was a very minor issue

The hotel was a beautifully restored building walking distance to main attractions. Many different restaurant and markets close by

The hotel is an oasis in the old town but some people may find the area confronting.

Centrally located made for easy walking of the old city. Close to restaurants and the markets. Staff were great.

Difficult to drive to. Upon arrival navigation brought us through some sketchy areas. But once accustomed to the area, never felt unsafe walking the streets even after dinner.
