The staff at Residenza San Calista was great, very communicative and helpful.

We did not realize our apartment was not part of the main hotel in Trastevere. We were instead across the river in a different area. I was initially attracted to the looks of the hotel and wanted to be in the Trastevere neighborhood and booked it on that basis. I realized after that there was a note on my booking that said it would be in a different building, but I did not see that at the time of booking.

This hotel was in a perfect location for my husband and I to explore Rome for the first time! We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go plus being in Trastevere is perfect for finding restaurants and enjoying the nightlife. The room itself was on the smaller side, but it was just right for what we needed. The electronic locks on the main door and our room made it so convenient to go in and out without having to keep track of a key card. Everyone we interacted with behind the desk was friendly and very helpful. I definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a clean, comfortable, reasonably priced hotel in Trastevere!

I don't have any complaints to mention. My husband and I were both very comfortable during our 4 day stay here!

The location can’t be any better. 20-30 minutes walk from most major sites in Rome. The hotel is in an extremely lively area at night, with plenty of restaurants and bars, however the side street it is down is so quiet you would never hear the crowds from the bar and plaza on the corner. The front door and hotel rooms are keypad entry which was so convenient not carrying around room key. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They are not there 24/7, we checked in after they had left and it could not have been any easier with the instructions they provided.

Vera cosy and quiet. Our room was on the first floor and there were 2-3 other rooms in our “block”. Our rooms were separated from the public area by glass doors which helped to keep the noise down (it wasn’t a lot of noise to begin with). I’m very sensitive to sound and I didn’t experience any noise disturbances. The AC in the room was awesome and a lifesaver. The front desk staff was very helpful and quick to respond to my emails.

In comparison to what I’m used to in Nordic hotels, the beds were a bit hard. Not the hardest bed I’ve slept in, though. And in the context of Italian hotel beds, they were probably on the softer side, but harder than what I would’ve preferred.

Small "pensione" in the vibrant Trastevere - across from the historic center. I read a review saying it is squeaky clean, and I can 150% agree! The room was better than the photos, everything warm and cozy (winter stay) with an air conditioner for summer. Well maintained and super helpful staff. Wonderful location, a beautiful 15 minute walk to the historic center (piazza navonna). Truly a hidden gem!

I would wholeheartedly give it 10, but for the American tourist to be aware: 1) there is no view - most rooms are on the ground floor and face the back. So it's quiet (actually a bonus when in the center of Rome). Also 2) the rooms are a good size for a European traveler, but on the small side for an American. But has a kettle and hairdryer and basic toiletries. The bed was a queen size. Also nice common areas. In the time of covid, no breakfast but a few cafes are nearby.

Very small hotel, quiet, peaceful and safe location, but still within easy walking distance to everywhere. The staff were nice. The air heat pump kept the room cool. We did not hear any noise in the room from outside during the whole trip.

No breakfast, reception is staffed only part of the time. The air in the rooms does not change very well. The doors to the rooms do not broof any sound at all, but fortunately the neighbours were quiet. If the doors were replaced with soundproofing, this would be the perfect place to stay in Rome.

Perfect location. The Trastevere is full of restaurants, nightlife, and places of interest. This is a beautiful small well-kept hotel with a few nearby related accommodations. Our room was usually quiet. Staff members were very pleasant and helpful.

We were awakened a few times at night by the sound of people returning to their rooms. If you want to visit many of Rome’s major tourist attractions you will have to use the city’s public transit system, uber or other internet-based services, or taxis.

Lovely, clean and super comfortable accommodation for a family of 3, with fully equipped kitchen. Very clean and the staff at reception, Ms Alessia and Ms Cristiana, couldn’t have been more helpful and kind. Communication before and during our stay was just perfect. Location is great and right at the heart of Trastevere. The building is full of character and very well kept. If returning to Rome we would definitely stay there again.

nothing to say here :)))

Loved it! Traditional Italian apartment in downtown Roma! Spacious, clean room with kitchen facilities & good bathroom. Super friendly staff ready with suggestions for breakfast coffee & willing to book cabs for airport/ sightseeing. Great restaurants & nightlife on the doorstep but surprisingly quiet for sleeping (we were on 2nd floor) . Thank you Residenza San Calisto for looking after us so well! We’ll be back!!

Can’t think of much.. bit of milk & an ice tray in the fridge/ freezer would be helpful.

Great location and charming property with lovely staff. They resolved a problem with the door lock fast and kept us informed. Alessia noticed it was my partner’s birthday and left a bottle of wine in our room for us to enjoy. Room was characterful and nice and warm. Bathroom was great too. Large shower with plenty of hot water, complimentary good quality bottles of shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion which were topped up each day and underfloor heating.

The large metal doors in the corridor can disturb your sleep when they shut.
