Wonderful Siracusa Hotel. I loved staying at this property. I was there for 1 week, first in a single sea view and then a room facing the city. Both rooms were wonderful, sea view was amazing!! Old world charm, lovely helpful staff and the added bonus of the resident nun!! HIGHly recommend for the value, charm and location. Close to everything and unbelievably quiet given the busy location. I will return and everyone went above and beyond to make my stay wonderful. I did not eat the breakfast, only because i prefer to head out super early, but it all looked great!!

The staff told us that the guests are sacred to them, and we really felt like they treated us that way. Cinzia and Lorenza at the reception took especially good care of us, moving us immediately to a new room when our A/C wasn’t working, and warmly offering suggestions to enjoy the region. If you have a car, just give the staff your license plate number and they will take care of the permit you need to drive in Ortigia’s limited traffic zone. I would certainly stay there again, and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a very clean, hospitable, and well-located hotel in Ortigia.

Parking was a bit challenging in the neighborhood, but we had good success parking in the Talete parking lot a short walk away. The hotel staff helped us verify that the parking was appropriate for overnight.

The view from the single sea view room was indescribable. The sunrises each morning were perfecto and I had a front row seat with nothing in the way. Although there was a road right in front of the window, the room was on the second floor and there were no bars/restaurants close by that would create noise while I had the balcony doors open. The doors were equipped with slats that could completely block out any daylight for a mid-afternoon nap. The property was clean and the staff was very helpful and kind.

The shower is very small, so it’s hard to get the door open and get in without water going everywhere. The water pressure was great, but more than the drain could handle, so it looked like it would flood if I took a long shower. Aside from that small inconvenience, there was nothing to complain about.

For breakfast you have to go across the road to their sister hotel, Domus Mariae Benessere. Breakfast is pretty basic, but that is what you have to expect given the price and location. On Google if you search for the hotel it will only come up with their sister hotel, which is across the road. If you go in there, then they can direct you to the right place.

The room overlooks the sea and has a balcony. The single bed is actually a small double and there is a settee from which to view the waves breaking on the rocks. There was always a kind welcome from the staff who did everything to make life easy with helpful advice on restaurants and sights. The surrounding area was quiet with very little traffic even at the weekend and the short walk back from the centre is atmospheric, intimate and beautifully lit.

Staff were very helpful and very pleasant to deal with. Staff were amazing!! Perhaps the most helpful and accommodating of all the hotels we stayed at in Sicily. The Breakfast was great! It was plentiful with many delicious options. Service was top notch. Served in a beautiful setting. We will stay here again when we return. Highly recommend!

If you do not like stairs - there are a lot of them to get to your room. Staff were very helpful in helping with luggage etc.

Communication prior to visiting was excellent. David & Cinzia couldn’t be more welcoming & helpful throughout our stay. The hotel was typical Sicilian - clean & fresh with lovely marbled floors. Room had air conditioning & all the comforts you need. Mostly quiet- some noise from 8 am. Good location to easily walk to all the fabulous restaurants, shops, seafront & historic buildings. David & Cinzia arranged for us to use the pool & jacuzzi in the sister hotel for 1 hour which was a nice surprise.

Domus Mariae Albergo is the sister hotel to Beneserre which we thought we had booked into & breakfast ,roof top terrace & spa were just across the road from this hotel - we hadn’t realised this when we booked. The Beneserre hotel also had the roof terrace for peaceful lounging- A roof top bar with some music would have been a lovely addition. Free parking is difficult so airport transfer advised. However David & Cinzia assist access to parking close to hotel for 20 euros/day

Good size double room with small balcony with street view. Very good buffet breakfast with some cooked food made to order, taken in sister hotel across the street. The location gave close walking access to points of interest and restaurants.

No major issues as we were aware of its historic city location, where renovations and early morning utilities or deliveries are common. It did not apply to our trip but car parking is very restricted. Access to the sea on the east was restricted and with rocky surfaces difficult under foot.

Lovely large room, clean and comfortable. Staff so helpful and friendly . Very quiet, we could relax and rest after a busy day, without noise. Great sleep

A better resourced hostess tray would be good, although we took our own. Breakfast was fine but the items not always refilled and the fruit often over ripe or bruised.
