Lovely room with comfortable beds and maid service every day, balcony and lake view. Nice grassed area for sunbathing and direct access to lake for swimming. Ample sunbeds and shade if wanted. Could also use sister hotel (la Paul) across the road, which also had direct lake access and a large swimming pool. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful (particularly when our flight was cancelled and we had to stay an extra 2 days). In particular Naja always worked extremely hard to ensure breakfast was perfect, Oualid on reception was very amiable and helpful and Concetta at la Paul reception was equally helpful. They all spoke many languages so communication was always easy. Hotel is in excellent location within walking distance of historic Sirmione old town, with its ample eating places and ferry access for trips to other lake towns.

Swimming pool at Smeraldo is small (although the one at la Paul is fine), easier access into the lake would be helpful.

Location excellent because there was easy access to swim in the lake and it was 10 minute walk to the old town. Smeraldo is opposite its sister hotel La Paul, where check-in/out was located, along with a restaurant/bar, other facilities, and access to lake on that side. We preferred the access to the lake at Smeraldo though, but enjoyed going across to La Paul to see the sunset over the lake. Breakfast in Smeraldo's dining room was pleasant, and there was a good choice of buffet items such as scrambled egg, bacon, delicious ripe tomatoes, bread, cold meats and cheeses, cereals, cakes, fruit etc. We had a lovely lake view from our balcony (family room for 3, first floor). The balcony had room for a table and two chairs, and a clothes horse to dry towels/clothes, which was very handy. The room had a pleasant decor, comfortable mattresses, and a large wardrobe with a safe. Our room was air conditioned, which was essential, and it also had a fridge for our use. We preferred swimming in the lake from our Smeraldo access, rather than the public beach in Sirmione as it was more convenient for us. We did not use the public beach, but it looked lovely when we were sightseeing, with sandy areas that not all locations around the lake have. We would recommend staying at Smeraldo, and we would certainly stay there again if we were able to have the lake view again, on the 1st or 2nd floor.

The shower cubicle/bathroom was small, but adequate. We didn't know how much the tourist tax would be, which was a cause for concern as the range we were told was very broad (thankfully it was on the lower-end of the scale, but still an expense to consider) - it would be very useful if this was stated in advance somewhere. The hotel did have a power outage one evening, but this lasted only for 10 minutes.

Love the location, overlooking the lake, access to swim and nice stroll into the main town. Lots of beautiful places to visit and plenty of resteraunts.

Some facilities a bit tired, our fridge didn't work and the garden shower was broken too. We wanted to explore more places and would have been better hiring a car.

The room was as advertised. Clean with two balconies. The shower would need improvement but the bathroom as a whole was very nice. Sitting area, fridge, air conditioning. Generous breakfast and very friendly staff. Access to partner hotel with bigger pool and larger garden with nice snack day time restaurant. Also great location for town access and both sunrise and sunset over the lake.

Overall very good. Clean room with every comfort available. Very comfortable beds. Very friendly and helpful staff. Two swimming pools and private beaches on both sides of the peninsula (via the other hotel). I can't think of anything that went wrong or I can complain about. Ok the lake view was partially obstructed by another building. But the location is about 5 minutes walk to the beautiful centre.

Location is great. Central to everything in Sirmione. We could use the facilities of their main hotel just across the road. Better pool and beach front along the lake. Staff were lovely. Rooms serviced daily to a high standard.

We requested and paid for a lake view, but a large tree obscured most of the view. Our room fridge did not work.

Breakfast was very good. the room spacious it had 2 balconies, one to the front and one with partial view to the lake. Lake access was nice, you can swim on it and its quite calm. Hotel has parking.

The pool was cold, because it was most of the time in the shade, but you still have access to the lake, or they give access to another hotel with bigger pool.

Excellent location. Room was fabulous with a lake view. Breakfast was good. Staff very friendly.

Unfortunately, elevator was out when we checked in so we had to lug suitcases up two floors. Here is where we learned that the main floor is level 0. LOL. It was fixed by the next day but we had already trained ourselves for the stairs.
