very clean and comfortable rooms. Beds are very soft and comfortable. This hotel is in a nice quite street along a canal, with many places to eat within 5 minutes. lovely to sit along the canal for a drink. and within a 3 minute walk you can be in a chaos and busy streets. The Hotel is also approx 1km from the train station, we were able to walk there with our suitcases to save time and money with the taxis, the walk was very manageable. The staff were all very lovely. They recommended a 50min boat ride they run in the evenings for hotel guests, this was with a private taxi and with only 6 of us on board it was an incredible time! would highly recommend doing this.

nothing.

I was expecting a boutique hotel with a few luxury touches and I got it! The staff was very courteous and helped me with some directions and accommodating for an ironing board and iron for me to use. Every detail of the room was very pleasant from the decor with the Middle Eastern/Arabic influences to the soft high-end sheets and the beautiful branding throughout and on the toiletries. The location is very well regarded close to the Jewish Ghetto neighborhood. There are lots of restaurants nearby but without ongoing tourist crowds and traffic. There are two good water taxi stations nearby and you can get to St.Mark’s square or to Murano from there. They did offer a complimentary ride to Murano but my vacation coincided with the Ferragosto/Ascension of the Vergin Mary and I was afraid lots of glass workshops would be closed and I didn’t take advantage of the offer. They also held my luggage after checking out and I spent some more quality time in Venice. I took lots of great pictures at the hotel and I’m hoping to come back again and try some other room with a different decoration. I love the Arabic arches that were replicated on my bed canopy and even on the glass shower doors.

Breakfast was a bit pricey but I understand…

This was my fifth stay at the Ai Mori D'Oriente, a great hotel in the very atmospheric Cannaregio section of Venice. I like it for its romantic, old world atmosphere and the friendliness and professionalism of its staff. The rooms are comfy, with Moorish decor, and the breakfasts are great, with a wide array of fresh and tasty offerings. The location is more of a typical Venetian neighborhood than the highly trafficked tourist spots, but there are plenty of good shops and restaurants around, and it's only a short walk to the Orto and Casino vaporetto stops, so it's easy to get anywhere else in the city. For what I need, it's always perfect!

Bathrooms could be updated a bit with improved hairdryers and shower heads. Otherwise, no complaints!

We were surprised that since our room lock was not working, they immediately provided us with another room which was bigger, but with no extra price. It was very pleasant, and we did not have to wait until they fix the lock - this was important since we were tired from the road and wanted to have a rest and eat, without wasting time. In the new room there was a lot of drinking water. Thank you for this!

The windows were not the street or canal view, but the wall. At the same time, it was very quiet part of the building, so we liked it anyway.

I would like to highlight the professionalism and courtesy of the staff, from the gentlemen at the reception to the breakfast personnel. The location of the hotel makes it a great choice if you plan to stay a little bit further from all the noise and the crowds.

Given the climate, you might get some mosquitos in the room if you let the window open.

Lovely hotel, with very helpful staff. Ideally located away from the bustle of the main tourist areas, in fantastic Canareggio. Not far to walk to vaporetto stops or any of the main attractions. Very comfortable room, with nice touches to add a bit of luxury. Highly recommended!

Very little to complain about. A slightly too powerful shower above a very shallow shower base made life a little tricky the first morning, but I figured it all out.

The reception staff were very efficient. They dealt with us very professionally, ordered water taxis and were able to tell us to the minute when they would arrive. They also pointed the way to an excellent little bar for lunch the morning we arrived. We also liked the lovely lady who looked after us in the breakfast room. The bar was also a welcome treat. It was beautifully cool and the barmen were always very good. The hotel is also very well positioned with some some less touristy nightlife nearby.

We thought the breakfast was a little expensive, especially if you were only having a coffee and croissant.

Beautiful location Great room with a beautiful shower room. top quality bedding and sheets

No Tea/Coffee facilities in the room. Most 4 or 5 star hotels have this, having to walk down and get a coffee wasn’t easy. Better directions to the hotel, we walked to the main Taxi port, took 10 mins it was perfect, the hotel didn’t give great directions, we got a boat which wasn’t quick or cheap. it’s far easier to walk

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location was ideal for us. We really loved the Cannaregio district where the hotel is located. The hotel wasn't too far from the busy commerical /touristy area with lots shops and restaruants, but it also very close to great neighborhood restaurants, with less tourists and are really excellant. It was ideal to get to the Bus and Train stations. The hotel room was a lovely surprise, nicely decorated, larger than I expected. We were treated to a complimentary fruit basket and bottle of sparkling italian wine. A nice and unexpected surprise. A few days before arriving to the hotel, I received a mail from the hotel with a link to pre-pay the hotel stay. But i had expericed some technical issues with the online payment system and was a bit nervous of losing my reservation. I got in contact with the hotel (phone or mail) to resolve this issue. They responded quickly to my messages and were super helpful and understanding. Had a great experience with their staff.

There wasn't a lot that we didn't like. I would have loved a room with a view on the canal, but that would have been more expensive.

The location is fantastic. It’s so peaceful and near to the boat stop for the airport. Breakfast good with a wide selection of foods. Breakfast staff particularly charming and helpful.

Desk staff doing a hard sell on Murano boat trips and we overheard one of them telling another couple that the only way to the airport was by ( expensive) water taxi. This isn’t true. There is a boat that goes from near the hotel to the airport. Much cheaper.
