Peaceful haven in beautiful Venice. The setting is amazing: the classical buildings with a living history, the large garden, the path besides the water...and I loved the little stairs leading to the canal where you could relax with a book or just watch Venice pass by.. Our double room was cheery, looking out onto one of Venice's colorful canals, with a huge fan above the bed, small table and chair, spacious closet and a sink. Toilet and a bathroom with an extra toilet next to the room to be shared with only 3 rooms and everything was spotless. Towels for rent for 4€. Great location too, at one block (or should I say bridge in Venice😉) from a canal lined with small cosy osteria's and shops without being too "touristy busy".

For a hostel, the quality and setting were exceptional, but expensive. People expecting a hotel or not familiar with the special setting of hostels may have different expectations, but for us it was perfect and we loved it.

I loved the little courtyards everywhere. the atmosphere was great with the music playing at the reception and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The kitchen was really nice as there was oil, vinegar, salt & pepper and pasta for everyone to use, the stove was great and the kitchen was big enough for everyone to cook at the same time. The room was big and nicely prepared before our arrival. Check in and check out was easily done. The location was amazing as it isn’t far away from the station but right in the middle of the venice happenings.

I guess air conditioning, but it’s way too expensive probably for every single room.

Came during Biennale and this place was super peaceful like hidden place in a nice part of town on the canals. It was the most affordable option if you want to stay on the island especially at a busy time of year the dormitory was basic but filled my needs. All the beds had their own light and outlets to charge things. You also got your own wardrobe to put your stuff away. I think I lucked out with the people that I stayed with everybody was very friendly in the dormitory

There was an event at a nearby building and it completely blocked off access to the hostel. We were not told that this was going to happen and it was very chaotic and people would not let us through. I was not happy about that. Had to figure out going a back way but I feel like this should not have happened

Good location, we liked the courtyard areas where we could sit in the shade. Also the balcony where we would sit in the evening to cool off in the breeze.

There is no air conditioning. We were expecting this, but we were not expecting the room to get so hot during the day. Between the sun shining directly into the room all morning and keeping the door closed while we were out during the day, the room got unbearably warm, making it very difficult to sleep. There is a fan, which helped a bit, but we did wish there were 2 fans so that we could each have one next to us while we slept.

OSF is located in a very safe and quiet neighborhood. It has a very spacious backyard that gives a 'historic' feel. There are spaces (with chairs and tables) where one can spend leisure time. There is a common kitchen where you can cook meals if you want to save on money eating outside. Just outside is a water taxi stand if you wish to avail of one. The rooms, toilet, and bathrooms are immaculately clean. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. They also provide free water for the guests at the reception hall.

A stronger blowing fan could be better to counter the heat during summer😊.

• Convenient location and clean bed linen • The first thing you want when you arrive at a hotel after a long journey is just cool drinking water. Thanks for thinking about this! • Quite a large area

Mosquito Repellent Insect Killer Tablets (Pads) are provided in the room, that’s good. Instructions for use should also be explaned at the reception desk. At night I woke up from a suffocating smell. The last guests who entered the room (I was already sleeping), closed all the windows and turned on 6 of these devices with anti-Mosquito Pads. For 25 square meters, 6 working devices is a lot. And such devices turn on when the windows are open; all windows cannot be completely closed. Either do not provide 6 devices per 25 square meters room, or instruct guests.

The bedinning sheets are very clean, white. Rooms are clean. For the shower it's better to have flip-flops. No insects except mosquitoes. You need to buy towels. The location is very good, because streets like Rio tera de la Magdalena and calle del piator which are like 5 minutes walk to hostel are full of way cheaper cafes and restaurants that in the center. Walkable distance to San marco. Quiet in the night, not in the main street. It took me 50 minutes to get from hostel to Marco polo Airport. They have a room where you can leave the luggage. The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped, has pans, pots, all cutlery, a lot of space in the fridges. They provide free pasta, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt&pepper. They provide free cold water, I believe ananas and grapes juices in the lobby with tea and coffee. You can eat outdoors in the garden. Near the hostel there are couple very big supermarkets, like spar, where price for food is way cheaper than in northern Europe. I think these supermarkets are which locals use, so they have normal prices. You can buy everything in them. They do not provide anything in the bathroom except toilet paper and soap, so you need your own shampoo and shower gel. The room is big, enough space for everyone. Big wardrobe with a key special for you. Enough space. I liked staying there. Mostly everyone like from early 20s to early 30s.

The shower only with flip-flops

Location was perfect, in the middle of a very very nice neighborhood full of nice restaurants and bars. The rooms and bed were clean. It was nice to have a big kitchen to cook and that the pastas were free. The staff were very helpful and nice. Would definitely recommend it! Glad I chose this hostel for my stay.

I was sleeping in a double bed, on the upper bed. As the beds aren’t fixed to the wall, they were extremely moving when one of the people was moving even a little bit. Made the sleep very difficult. Either the beds should be fixed on the wall or better bed quality is needed. Would have been nice to have some curtains around the beds to have some privacy.

Ostello Santa Fosca is like the perfect little island in the middle of busy Venice. We are so happy that we canceled our hotel reservation and booked the hostel instead. The hostel is located right on a canal, one block away from the main shopping street and one block away from a very cute, more quiet canal with lots of restaurants, gelaterias, etc. It has multiple beautiful courtyards where you find shade, peace and quiet at all times of the day. Great to enjoy breakfast (2 grocery stores and bakeries are less than 5 min away), relax mid-day, or sip a glass of wine before bed. You can use the kitchen if you want to (clean up after yourself!) and store some items in the shared fridges. There is a kettle , espresso maker, plates, cups, etc. We had 2 rooms: one 2-bed room without bathroom and a 3-bed room with bath. The 2-bed room was very simple and felt a bit dungy, but was very clean. The other room was cute, maisonette-style with a beautiful high ceiling with old wooden beams. This one seemed newly renovated. It was very hot and humid during our stay, and the rooms have no A/C. There are fans though, so it wasn't too bad. We would stay at the hostel again in a blink and absolutely recommend this place. Staff is very friendly and you can leave your luggage/ use the courtyards after checking out.

I wish the rooms had mosquito nets/ window screens so that you could leave the window open at night without fearing to get eaten alive by mosquitoes.

Fantastic location, easy to walk pretty much anywhere in 30 minutes or less, including most of the main museums, the train station, and plenty of cafes and restaurants. Very friendly and welcoming hosts, super comfortable beds, and clean room and bathroom. A small kitchen/dining area is available with high-quality cookware, and breakfast includes some of the best pastries I've ever had from the cafe on the opposite side of the road. Definitely would like to visit again, couldn't ask for more value for money.

Kitchen could do with a chopping board.
