Staff were great. Hotel was very clean. Location great.

Kettle switch had to be held so that it boiled. I got locked in the bathroom for over an hour, no phone to call for help. I was on my own so was getting panicky

We loved the beautiful original Baroque style and the incredible Murano glass chandeliers. We stayed in The Junior Suite..it was a much needed treat for me & my husband. The Hotel Cà Alvise was easy to find. We were just in time to get the Alilaguna Orange Line boat from Marco Polo airport...it took a good 50 minutes..and we got off at St.Angelo. The hotel is approx a 6 minute walk. Venice is very well lit at night and we found our way easily using Google maps. Our Suite was magnificent! Absolutely stunning. My husband hadn't seen it before,he was blown away. Our bed mattress was extremely comfortable and the room lovely and dark at night. It had Aircon in both rooms. Breakfast was excellent,so much choice available. We had scrambled egg,bacon & sausage,more like a Frankfurter..all very tasty. Cereal & yogurt, toast, croissants,cake and fruit cocktail. Plenty of fruit juice choice, and tea & Coffee. The service staff were all very polite and their English was so much better than our Italian!! We stayed from Feb 12th -Feb 18th because it was Carnival time. It was our 1st visit,we had the most incredible time. We had plenty planned and had managed to get what we'd planned done in 3 days. All the reception staff were very helpful and again spoke great English. We saw Andrea mainly and asked for his advice. He wrote down a list of 5 places to visit,circled them on a free map and showed us photos on his phone. So helpful and enthusiastic,thank you Andrea,.. don't hesitate to ask the staff to add to your itinerary,so helpful. We would highly recommend staying at The Hotel Cà Alvise. Easy to get to from the airport and just catch the return boat from St.Angelo to return to the airport. St.Marks Square is less than a 10 minute walk from the hotel. We covered a lot of Venice during our stay,it was the perfect location. Away from the noise of the busy square,but also on its doorstep. Beautifully decorated throughout with great customer service.

We didn't like not having a duvet on our bed. Having sheets and blankets wasn't very cosy. The Aircon kept the room warm,but the sheet and 2 blankets weren't enough. We put the very heavy bedspread back on the bed, and that was too heavy..a duvet would be far more practica, warmer & more comfortable. The mattress was very comfortable. Our Suite was everything we had hoped for,the hotel is just fabulous!!

Staff was very friendly and helpful! Rooms were spacious and clean. We had to check out the last day before breakfast was served but the staff asked us to wait a moment while they put warm/fresh croissants in a bag and brought us coffee. It was a very kind gesture and we appreciated it very much!

We were traveling with a large group and needed two rooms. One of the rooms was great in every way. The other room was at the top of the stairs where all the foot traffic was. It was a horrible location for that room. Not too mention, one of the beds in that room is right next to the door. Laughing, talking, people going up and down the stairs, luggage bumping along was all we heard all night.

We loved the hotel. The room was massive so was the bathroom. We had three single beds, each with a comfortable mattress and pillows. The room had a small kettle and 3-4 instant coffee/tea sachets. There was no iron however upon request, we received a steamer. We had booked daily breakfast which wasn't elaborate but a perfect way to start the day, including scrambled eggs, a wide array of sweet goodies, juices and coffee. The location couldn't have been better. It was only 6 minutes from St Mark's square, a 4-minute walk to Santangelo boat stop which is on your way from the airport, and a 7-8 minutes walk from Rialto bridge. The only drawback to our stay was that cups and glasses were not replaced every day (we were 3 guests and only received 2 of everything), and our bathroom door did not lock, and we were told it could not be fixed during our stay either. Other than that the staff was so kind and pleasant, greeting you so warmly every time you entered.

The room amenities could have been better i.e. iron, soap, cups/glasses.

Its very close to St.Mark's Square and The Rialto bridge.Hotel is only 4mins walk to the vaporetto/ Alilaguna Sant Angelo- Airport jetty hence its easy to drag bags to & fro. No lifts in the hotel which may be an issue for some.Buffet breakfast was fine & replenished constantly. Staff was friendly & helpful. They kindly kept my bags until it was time for me to leave for the airport,thank you.Room was cleaned daily which is great. I love that there's a kettle in the room too.

Could do with extra power points in the room.

All of the staff were tremendous. Went above and beyond during our entire stay, 24/7! Gave us great recommendations for restaurants nearby. They were very compassionate when my friend had wallet and passport stolen. Thought to call our Rome hotel to get a copy of her passport that was scanned on arrival there emailed to hotel. This was extremely helpful for her to get her emergency passport in Milan. Kindness to us during our entire stay is what I will always remember and be grateful for. Hotel is very well located, room was very good sized, quiet, very comfortable bed and was very clean!

I would have have liked to been able to get coffee early in the am before kitchen staff arrives on mornings when we had to catch early vaparettos/trains. Breakfast could have been better.

Bedspread looked old and tired, bed and bedding not great, bathtub drain and toilet flush both malfunctioned. Stairs only, no lift.

Great breakfast, great location and helpful, friendly staff. Quaint boutique hotel that made us feel at home, and gave us the full Venice experience.

The room was a bit small for us considering that we had been traveling for two weeks with three cases of luggage; but it was comfortable nonetheless. Also, lots of stairs to get to our room, but the great staff helped with our luggage. Due to location (which was great except for this) could not be dropped off by water taxi right at the hotel, however the pick up was not far away.

The location was great, although not easy to get there - 40 min by walk or 20 by ferry / walk (the ferry is incredibly expensive - €9 per person and it was only 1 stop, no discount for kids - age 6 and 8). Once there - everywhere is close 😁 The decor is as per pics - you have to like the style, we usually prefer more modern feel - but we enjoyed it. It’s very climatic 🙂 Helpful staff, nice breakfast, good choice and tasty.

I was a bit disappointed with the toiletries choice - was expecting a bit more from a 4* hotel - I think they should add shampoo (and conditioner, but at least shampoo).

the location is perfect as it is closer of St Marc Square. The staff are very helpful and friendly and they also helped us with some activities and tours. the room was big and confortable.

even though the bathroom was big and with a renovated sanitary ware, there is no steps dividing the shower area and the rest of the bathroom and depending of the way you open the shower it can wet the whole bathroom.
