This hotel is in a surprisingly quiet location, considering that it is less than a 10 minute walk from the railway station. You leave the noise and busyness of the main drag as you turn up the alley that leads to the hotel. The hotel itself is owned and run by a lovely couple, who are helpful and efficient. In terms of comfort, I suppose you could say it is no-frills, but I've stayed in posher, pricier places where less thought has been given to the needs of the modern traveller. For, example, there is a USB port in the room (the only hotel out of 4 in Italy in which I stayed of which this was true.) An excellent breakfast with plenty of choice in a small but delightful area screened from the alley by a leafy hedge.

No nonsense Albergo managed in the most genuine 'traditional' way. Room was spacious, cleaned daily, all the staff was wonderfully kind. It was clean, good aircon, good wifi, 24h reception. The breakfast was not included in the booking but we decided to add it to our stay as it was good value (unlike most hotels' rip offs) and the garden provides a lovely setting. The location is great as it's very close to the station but away from crowds. I stayed in many hotels in Venice and at this price point they are all grotty, dated, with tiny rooms. Not this one! For a no frills stay in Venice it ticked all the boxes. I would certainly stay again!

The property was fantastic, for a 1* hotel it should be at least 3*. The rooms were clean and beds comfy. The room had everything you would need for a short stay in Venice. The location is great as it's close to the bus station and train station for the airport. Plenty of fine dining restaurants around the area and the gift shops are slightly cheaper here than closer to san Marco. There's even a spar just around the corner should you want to buy snacks and drinks for the room. Yes it's good 30 mins walk to san marco but that's what Venice is all about getting lost in the maze of streets not knowing what's around the corner. The shared bathrooms were spotless and not once did I use them and think they were dirty. When I come back to Venice some day this is the place I will be staying for sure. Not a 24 hr reception wanted to get up before dawn and watch the sunrise over peaceful Venice but doors are locked at a certain time. Maybe you had to ask.

Location was great, only a few minutes away from the train station. Staff was mostly very friendly.

I ran into an issue one day with the staff not allowing me to bring a friend into the room with me because they weren't on the reservation - it was just someone I met on my trip who wanted to wait for me to get ready before we went for dinner. The woman was pretty rude about it and I found it weird for a hotel to have a rule about guests. Eventually she just required my friend to turn over her passport and said she could only stay 15 minutes... just found it strange. Everyone else was very friendly though.

Excellent staff, everyone was sop kind and pleasant. The bed and pillows were very comfortable, much better than I was expecting. The room was very clean and met expectations. The location of the hotel was great as it is only a few minutes from the main transport hub to San Marco Airport. Easy access when dragging luggage! Would stay again!

If I had to really nitpick on a negative (and I'm really stretching here), the only one that came to mind was the lack of plugs right beside the bed. There is a multi-plug extension in the room by the desk. If you want to charge your phone and keep it on the bedside table, bring a long charging cable. At least this was the case with my room.

The hotel is situated in a central place, just some mins walk from the train station and from the Lista di Spagna, but on the other side it's in a calm side street. The staff was very friendly and helpful during our stay. The hotel overexcited our expectation as a one star hotel: it was clean, well furbished, with a comfortable bed.

Nothing special to mention. Of course it's not a modern hotel, but also the expectation is not this. The walls are a bit thin, so you can hear the noise from the surrounding rooms.

The room was very clean, and the bathroom was very nice. The staff were very helpful, all spoke some English, among other languages. I found this hotel to be good value for money. However, it was not close to St. Marks Square. Long walk or 8 Euro for a water ferry, which can get very crowded.

The narrow laneway leading to the hotel was, at first, very disconcerting. However, the location was very easy to get to from Santa Lucia train station, as described, and the laneway proved to be safe and easy to navigate, and the hotel far enough from the main strip to get a quiet nights sleep.

Amazing stay here. Beds and pillows were comfortable, and the beds were made everyday. Towels were changed everyday. The shared toilet was always clean and well stocked. Handy to have a sink in the bedroom. Lots of choice for breakfast and the lady serving breakfast was very nice. Great location, close to the hustle and bustle but on a quiet side street. Also very close to the train and bus stations. All the staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly!! We checked out very early to get to the airport and they even accommodated our request to pack something to go, the evening before. What a great place!!

What a fantastic hotel. Location only couple of hundred yards from train and bus station. Up a small alley. 3 other hotels and a lovely little bistro beside it. Really busy street at the end of alley full of bars restaurants and shops. Right beside Grand canal for access to all transportation boats and gondola rides. Hotel staff are so friendly. Spotlessly clean with a lovely breakfast in the garden . Would highly recommend

Super clean, with daily fresh towels and the bed made. The shared bathroom was always clean and staff went out of their way to ensure you had everything you needed. Breakfast was basic but good value for coffee and something small to eat. The area was safe and had great access to the grand canal and train station. Hairdryer in room and loads of space for hanging clothes. Would definitely recommend it to anyone for a couple nights in Venice!
