As I did not want to walk far from the train station as I had my elderly mother with me, decided to go with this hotel. I must say I made the right choice, the hotel is less than 10min walk from the Hakone Yumoto station but one would need to note that the hotel name is in Japanese / Chinese so best to do a google map search to get the directions right. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and accommodating, though most of the staff do not speak English they each tried their best to provide the service, at times had to use the google translator to communicate which was not an issue. We opt for the private onsen room with half board meals, they were both excellent - meals wise - dinner was always something I look forward to, it was traditional jap cuisine. They have both indoor and outdoor onsen, which was great, the outdoor onsen had views of the mountain which is pleasant and relaxing to look at. Overall, had a pleasant stay

Just a 5 mins walk from the station - makes life much easier and avoids the pain of taxi booking. Lobby area is mind blowing overlooking the river. Very close to all the restaurants around. Please ensure you pre book in case looking for a Japanese style dinner even in the area. Places close quite early. Onsens are massive with different pools inside and outside. Cannot mid this at all when staying at this property.
If you are not booking the meals - you end up being in a small box. They have separate rooms for meals + guests. Do not have much vegetarian options - so need to order a week prior. Very difficult to do while planning a long trip to Japan.

This property was absolutely lovely. The room was very large and spacious. The in room outdoor bath was very enjoyable! I enjoyed the entire experience and wish I could've stayed longer. The breakfast was really good.
Staff was a hit or miss. We had one employee who was very kind and helped us with our questions but when checking out there was no one at the desk for 10+ minutes and no bell. He only came out when the phone rang. We had no-seafood dining plans arranged but there was still seafood in some of the dishes. They did try it seems but I would be weary if you are severely allergic.

Private outdoor bath, comfortable bedding, amazing view, helpful staff. The kiseki meal was incredible. Watching the sun rise over the river was incredibly relaxing. Rooms were clean and the bedding was the most comfortable I encountered on this trip.
Overall the building needed to be deep-cleaned or renovated. Carpet/wall stains, faint cigarette smell on furniture, yellowed plastic on appliances. To be clear, the cleanliness of the hotel was very good - the building itself needed some love as decades-old wear and tear was hard to ignore.

Location is very convenient and there are restaurants and eateries if you did not select half board meals. All staff are very polite and the young lady attendant to our Kaiseki dinner and breakfast for 2 nights stay was superb. She is attentive, resourceful and informative and when I enquired about a delicious tiny vegetable pickle. She translated the pickle from Japanese to English using Google translate on her handphone. It was a pickled Lily bulb which we do not usually have it in our cuisine. Kaiseki dinner was delicious especially the grilled King crab on the second night. The 2 breakfasts are superb & delicious too! The menu is not repetitive and they are delicious. We were given a room with mountain view. 4 Futons beds were set up on the tatami when we had our dinner in the private room in the restaurant. There is a cosy tatami room with different daifuku mochi each day placed on the table. If you like them, they can be purchased from the souvenir store near to the hotel lobby. There’s also green tea teapot box near to the water flask at one corner. There is western room with sofa and TV for family chilling out after using the onsen. Outdoor Onsen for women is on the 6th floor with some single tubs for individuals.
No smart TV if you don’t mind.

It was well maintained and everything worked well. Staff were polite and friendly, and the coffee and tea time drink service were much appreciated. The kaiseki meals were lovely, having a nice range of food. Our second night meal was definitely better than our first.
It did seem a little on the older side, and our room had a smell of food when we entered. The staff came to help quite quickly, and over time we were able to open the windows to let fresh air in.

Room is spacious and has a great lay out. The public bath is really nice and relaxing, very good for your mind and your skin. Location is great, not far from the train station and many good restaurants around. We enjoyed our stay and would come back.
Air-con in the room is pretty dirty with dust. And though it's not the fault of the hotel, many Chinese tourists in the public bath were very loud and annoyingly didn't seem to understand nor follow the public bath etiquettes at all.

The location is perfect, super close to Hakone Yumoto station. It’s surround by beautiful scenery and the hot springs were lovely. I recommend families and groups of people to reserve a room with a private outdoor hot spring. My partner and I did that and it was absolutely wonderful. It was to be able to bathe together in the onsen as usually onsen are separated by men and women. The meals are also delightful. I had a gluten allergy that I let the property know when I booked it and they were able to accommodate me and I was fed plenty of amazing food. Definitely I would want to go there again!!!
We slept on Japanese futons and they are personally not my cup of tea but I think it’s still a unique experience that everyone should try.

Convenient location in Hakone with on-site onsen. Wonderful staff and meals. Excellent choice for families or groups of couples.
We went during Sakura season so price was inflated. Most of the games in the game room were not working, which was disappointing for my kids. The bar wasn't open during published times. Very clean but a bit dated facilities - you can tell that it's an older hotel that has been modernized.
