This was a great experience. The owners are super friendly, and the room I booked was very spacious, which I appreciated. Not to mention that in addition to being friendly, the owners were very helpful as well, one of the older gentlemen working there helped me figure out how to use the AC controls, as they were all in Japanese.

The one thing I wasn't a fan of was the shower/washrooms. Specifically there was an allotted time for showers and baths on the floor I was staying on. I believe it was 17:00-24:00. It wasn't very clear why this was the case, but I assume it has something to do with the hot water availability. I was traveling in the middle of August, where Japan is at its most humid, and multiple showers a day are something I feel like I need as a traveler who is constantly on walking around. But it may be different for different floors, and they may allow some exceptions. I really wasn't sure on the details.

The breakfast was really delicious. There was homemade katsuobushi flakes, alongside a traditional washoku set. My Japanese is very poor, but the owner was really kind. She could speak English, as well as slow/ easy Japanese, which was great as a new language learner. The bedroom was simple, but there was free green tea, and all of the appliances worked well. The air conditioner, futon and seats all did their jobs! I would highly recommend this place to any visitor, from inside or outside of Japan.

The lady in charge was so nice although we had some issues with the language barrier, she was still able to give me all of the information, she also actively used her translation app to give me some more info, which was very helpful. The food was spectacular, and the whole stay was so cheap. Dinner was 5 courses and breakfast was 2/3. I had a great time and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Kobe!

Some hairs on the tatami mats, could have been a little cleaner

I like the authentic Japanese family atmosphere and the close location to the Harbor and Kobe tourist center and Chinatown. It is indeed the best place to be for traveling to Kobe for the first time. I also like that I can leave my luggage at the location early. I like the numerous rooms for option. I love the spacious rooms in Wafuku style.

I didn't like the thin futon and the thick bean pillow. They are a little hard for my body type. I don't like the shower and sink tab are leaky. It made it hard for me to adjust the shower water at first, so maybe just a reminder for the guest before hand will solve the problem.

Good location, close to train station Hanakuma. Kind stuff, but not sure if they can speak English, because I spoke Japanese to them. There's a restaurant in the ground floor.

There could be better privacy in the restrooms. They are shared for both genders, but there are urinals for men. There may be an embarassing moment when a gentleman is using the urinal and a lady needs to walk around him to the toilet cubicle.

The lady was very nice and kind ! She waited for us to arrive on our first night, and I am very grateful for that. The room was large and super clean, as well as the bathroom. The breakfast is homemade and very delicious !! It was our first japanese breakfast ever, and it will remain a fond memory of our stay in Kobe. Thank you for everything!

I liked everything!

It was a hidden gem. its a guesthouse right in the shopping street. it felt like the guesthouse had 3 houseparts. the main room was full of dark wooden furniture, the cooking place and with a water dispenser. then you had to follow a small corridor with different wallpaint to your room. the facilities were one floor lower. a very nice and helpfull host.

nothing to mention. was a really pleasent stay.

The room was really big and comfortable, the staff was really nice, the lady at the reception has also recommended us a good kobe restaurant in the city centre that met our expectations and they also let us leave the luggages in the hotel while we went to the animal kingdom. Highly recommended.

Cheap price, close to train station, reasonable walking distance to major sights. Roomy with good storage space to put away luggage. Nice Japanese character to the facility.

My own fault here, as I knew the room had a futon instead of a bed when I booked. I didn't mind this at first, but after a few days I wanted a proper bed.

Very traditional Japanese hotel with futons. The staff were lovely and there was everything we could have wished for in the room. The location is really good between Motomachi and Kobe (Hyogo) stations. Handy for train transport and subway. It's an interesting area with funky shops and restaurants.

Not much it was what we expected. Not a place for those who don't want to sleep on a futon. We loved it.
