It is definitely a beautiful property and the rooftop pool and bar an absolutely highlight. The rooms are comfortable with really detailed interiors all custom made to the space. The food and cocktails were great especially as we had dinner in the rooftop space nearly every night and it felt like we had our own private restaurant.

We stayed for 7 days and were given a room on the second floor which I definitely do not recommend. The building faces a main road across from the park that is extremely busy and although the double glazing is great there is still a lot of noise. It also does not make for the most pleasant experience using the balcony. For the price tag and extent of our stay I would have expected a room in a higher floor.

Loved the location. Loved walking the streets around this hotel. Actually walked from Shibuya up to the hotel. Cool little bars and shops along the way. So quiet. Nice cafe across the road from hotel. A couple of the Tokyo Toilet Project toilets not far from here if u r into design. Also hired a dog to walk in Yoyogi park not too far from hotel. Hotel design superb and the little cakes and biscuits were a nice touch.

Only snacks available at Pool area were Oysters. I do not eat seafood. And I was starving. Staff very attendant. Nice sparkling wine for welcome drink.

This hotel is perfection. Location: a quieter part of Shibuya, across from Yoyogi Park. Though it does face a busier street, we couldn't hear it if the patio door was shut (it was hot in August, so we didn't have the door open). The facilities: The rooms were small but really well-designed; all of the space of the room was used efficiently. Really beautiful, minimalist aesthetic. The bathroom sink area is behind the bed, but the toilet and shower are both in little rooms with heavy glass doors, so there was ample privacy. Great water pressure and fancy Japanese toilets. Can't ask for more. The POOL! So nice to sit in the pool on a hot day and look at the trees from the park. Also, the scent they have in the lobby is so lovely. I found myself inhaling extra deeply every time I walked through it. The STAFF: Service in Japan is generally polite and attentive, but the staff at Trunk were exceptional. Definitely ask them for recommendations for restaurants; they will not steer you wrong. We were guided to excellent, small, authentic restaurants with mostly Japanese clientele. We were there for 7 nights, left to go to Hakone for 3 nights, then returned for another 4. We were so happy to return for the second leg!

This was not a dislike. But just a note that there is not a lot of room to have open suitcases, and many of the drawers were especially designed to hold very particular things (e.g., silverware, tea), so they weren't usable for other things. My partner and I actually loved this attention to detail and design. We are both tidy/organized people, so we managed well with some minimal rearranging of things.

I loved everything about this hotel. You are greeted warmly the moment you enter and the lobby smells incredible. the rooms are quite small but they’ve used the space efficiently! the bed was so comfy, the bathroom was incredible - it had amazing lighting and the amenities were so good. they also have turndown service so it was so nice to come back at night with small bites and tea with the pajamas and eye patches ready in bed. the staff are super friendly and helpful with everything!

nothing, this is my new favourite hotel and will come back here again for sure!

We only got to spend one night on our return to Tokyo before heading home as we'd been unable to book it for our earlier nights in the trip but wish we'd been able to stay our whole time in Tokyo at Trunk. Fantastic location only a short walk from Harajuku through Yoyogi Park, which is the second biggest park in Tokyo. There's an ethos associated with the hotel of 'urban recharge' that all of the staff can clearly articulate and is apparent in everything about the hotel and how they go about accommodating guests. They somehow manage to make it feel like you're not in a concrete jungle, aided by the hotel's clever design elements and the amazing infinity pool overlooking Yoyogi Park. Rooms were beautiful and beds were really comfortable. No TVs but the only non Japanese station we could get anywhere else throughout Japan was BBC so not an issue and feeds into the whole ethos. We were served complimentary welcome drinks upstairs in the lounge bar adjacent the pool where they also offer up an assortment of fresh oysters from various prefectures in Japan as well as some of SA's finest from Coffin Bay. There's only 25 rooms in the hotel so even though the hotel was at capacity and it was 39 degrees there always seemed to be room around the pool or in the lounge bar. Staff were fantastic, engaging and keen to make sure our time there was enjoyable. The Italian restaurant downstairs was open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and served up the best breakfast we had in Japan and was more aligned with the dishes you'd find offered at breakfast/brunch spots back in Australia. Wood oven pizzas were as good as we've had anywhere and they offered a range of gluten free options including gluten free pasta. We had a late flight and the hotel provided ongoing access to the lounge, which helped greatly.

There's not much that could be improved, at least that comes to mind... The only oddity was breakfast pricing relative to lunch or dinner, with the latter two being cheaper. Didn't really matter as all the meals we had there were fantastic.

The location was amazing, it felt you were already outside of chaotic Tokyo, but still very close to Shibuya. The balconies having the view of Yoyogi Park was also great. The staff was extra caring with me and my family, as all the other places we visited in Japan! We felt very welcomed.

We had a great breakfast the first day, organic juices, teas, all the dishes came delicious. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the second day, they have run out of some of the food supplies, because it did not have the same quality. The food came late, and my eggs were cold, I had to rush, so I ate them anyway. My mom ordered food that never came.

Extremely well furnished and well built hotel with perfect finishings and consumables to match. Loved the snacks and minibar selection. Loved the breakfast options. The neighbourhood is lovely, the view is great, the jacuzzi is incredible. Running in Yoyogi park in the mornings and then enjoying the view from the terrace is a must-do. Will be back!

I really wish they had a sauna or a small gym. Running around Yoyogi is great but I stayed for a week and would have loved to use a gym.

It’s like home away from home. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, not to mention they were all good looking as well. The egg Benedict’s for breakfast were excellent. One of the best ones I have ever had! The pool on the top floor was also a very good place to chill and relax with the park in view. The sparkling white wine is super good too for non alcoholic drinkers. Sit outside when the weather permits to people watch. The sound proofing was great too as we could not hear the car noises even though we were on the second level.

If only TV’s were available in the standard rooms instead of projectors. But understand there may be insufficient space.

Great hotel, very comfortable room, a little small for us as we were travelling for a month and so had a lot of luggage. That aside it was a great room. Walking distance to very nice bars and restaurants and you can walk to Shibuya from here too. Nice to have the park on our doorstep and the Hotel provided us with a local guide for shopping, restaurants, cafes etc which was really helpful. We ate at three of their recommended cafes and restaurants which were all exceptional. We also used the pool, amazing and we ate pizza there at the restaurant on site which was great.

Excellent location and very helpful, friendly staff. The room was beautifully appointed with a lot of special details. Fabulous roof deck and pool area.

The room was small with limited storage space. Some of the drawers have cutlery, crockery and other lovely items but I did feel it a bit of a wasted space with such limited storage (ie I would be surprised that many people would be eating with cutlery etc in the room but perhaps that is incorrect). This was not a big deal and I would not hesitate to recommend and return.
