The breakfast (2 slices of bread, margarine/jam/honey, 2 eggs, apple juice/coffee/tea, yoghurt) was good. The location (9 - 15 mins walk to the subways, Shinjuku Station) is great. Many convenience stores nearby (7-Eleven just opposite). Dormitory is ventilated. Ample space in the capsule bed (with a locker, shelf, space for a medium-sized backpack, light, power points, curtain). There's a lift. Ample number of toilets and bathrooms (shampoo/soap provided). Umbrellas available for guests to borrow. Great lounge with well equipped kitchen area and fridge for guests to use. Big space (with TV) next to the reception area for meeting people. Great hardworking friendly staff ready to offer whatever assistance they can. Baggage storage for use before check in and even after checking out (locked after 10pm) - my favourite feature.

Nothing really.

The beds were comfortable and the women’s floor was fairly quiet. Breakfast was convenient to have in the mornings, and it was nice chatting with others who were staying at UNPLAN while I was there. Location is great too - it’s across the street from 7/11 and an 10ish minute walk from about 3 stations (including Shinjuku)

Some visitors were loud and could be heard out the windows in the evenings (I hear the mixed dorms can be a little rowdy). Other than that, I wish breakfast options were a little more varied but what was offered was tasty! UNPLAN is cashless, so it was a tiny challenge finding enough 100yen coins to do laundry on-site - buying something at 7/11 to get change was recommended.

The staff were ALL amazing and a big shout out to Glenda at the front desk who organised a taxi for us for 5am the next day. The staff were all very friendly and helpful especially the staff in the restaurant. A big shout out to the cleaning staff who did a great job in keeping the shared bathrooms tidy with so many messy people using them.

That being right opposite the bathroom unit on 4th floor, there were no rules in place to ban people from speaking loudly in the corridor at 2am or even more so blow drying their hair at 4am. The mess some of the women left in the bathroom facility was a disgrace but again the cleaning staff did their utmost.

the capsules are spacious, people are friendly and courteous ( keep quiet etc.), breakfast is basic but nice to have + coworking spaces are great, wifi is fast and it was such good value overall!

Cleaning was sometimes not noticeable in the bathrooms, maybe because everything was used so much. Rather than a hotel, it feels like an apartment block as the staff are very hands off, which is fine, but I would prefer a more visible staff presence in case there were any issues. Also its a bit of a trek to the stations.

When reading the comments, I was a bit worried about people staying there for longer period of time, but there was no problem. Everyone was considerate of the other, it was quite and bed was clean. Easy check-in, no need of check-out. Free wifi, own little desk inside bed area with locker for wallet etc. Walking distance from Shinjuku station, really cheap. I recommend it to everyone!

There were lot of stuff of the people staying there for longer period of time. It didn't really bother me, but some people might find it messy. In the morning someone left used tissues on the floor near the sink, but it is not the fault of the hotel stuff, I guess they cannot check every room all the time. When arriving about 5 pm there were two male staff cleaning the rooms of the only women area. It was okay for me, but some people might be sensitive of that stuff.

My 2nd time there and honestly I am not going to consider any other place to stay at whenever I travel to tokyo. The staffs are so helpful, location is right in downtown. And bathroom are always clean even when there were so many people staying.

may be provide indoor slippers and clothes deodorizers. Its not that expensive addition.

This place is essentially a hostel. I wouldn’t stay in a hostel unless it’s in Japan. The other guests are considerate of one another, facilities are clean, bed area is comfortable and it feels private despite the beds being in the same room and only separated by wooden walls. bathrooms, showers, sinks are clean, efficient and nicely organized. Hotel is extremely close to shinjuku’s famous nightlife area. Definitely recommend this place to anyone on a budget.

If someone snores at night. you will definitely hear it. but for the price and hotel service, I can’t complain. I simply bought some earplugs and slept like a baby after that.

the breakfast was very simple but i liked it! the atmosphere in the bar was very nice in the morning. my bed was also comfy and i'm happy me and my sister had our own room. overall a very clean place!

it was a bit smaller than expected (just a bit), and the walls seemed slightly dirty. the shelf we had was a bit flabby and kept falling through. also just a personal preference but i really wish there was some sort of a lamp/nightlight. also i didn't understand that the PIN given to me was just for my room door as it opened the front door and dormitory door too, so i was anxious to leave my stuff in my room

I stayed here for 1 week and it was incredibly comfortable! I love the capsule style of the bunks as the privacy they give means that it doesn't feel like you are in a dorm! The shower room and toilets were always so so clean (I would see the staff cleaning them multiple times a day!!). The location is super convenient, with multiple conbinis along the street and 2 different metro stations nearby, so it was easy to go out and explore all parts of the city (especially as Shinjuku station is just 15 minutes away by foot) as well as to make the most of the Shinjuku nightlife! The staff were always super helpful and organised some kind of chill social event each evening for those who wanted to participate. I would definitely stay here again!!

The dorm rooms could just do with a bit more space to store luggage, as the only area was by the door. This wasn't a major issue, but would definitely make the stay more comfortable :)

Very good location just walking distance from the party places, convenience stores, delicious restaurants, shopping places and even the train stations! Great amount of diversity with staff and especially guests! Got to meet many people there from every corner of the globe! Generally clean, with staff constantly cleaning the facilities from the bathroom to the resting common room! A little more expensive compared to other hostels, but the location is definitely very convenient especially for those who like to go out to party and drink! Pretty lenient checking out process and leaving your luggage in their storage room all day long! Secure enough where you are given a number code to enter the hostel and even your floor and room! Made some great friends from everywhere, not just Asia, and got to communicate very well with them! Hoping to meet them again in the future!

It's difficult to get to know the process of checking in and out if you are not someone who uses QR codes, credit cards, IC cards or even phones in general. If you're someone who is familiar with using Google forms and credit cards, then I think it's not too hassle for you. But if you're an old fashioned person who exclusively uses cash only and doesn't have a smartphone like iphone or samsung or any phone without screentouch, then it may be difficult for you. However, I think the staff are more than helpful and patient with helping you fill up and check in with the online forms!
