The Heron Hotel

I liked the location of the hotel, It made it easier to get around. The room was clean and the facilities were great but what made the biggest difference was the staff. They were really kind and very responsive and went out of their way to ensure we were very comfortable during our stay.

The only thing that wasn't great is that they charge additional delivery fees on top of your meal when you order room service. Being that the meal prices are high in terms of the standard of Kenya, it didn't make sense to charge delivery fees for bringing food up 2 floors from the restaurant.

It is an affordable and rather nice hotel near the centre of Nairobi. I had a lovely room on the top floor with a lovely view. I enjoyed the pool and I think all the basics are there. I was there a bit in the off-season so it was a bit quiet. It provided a fantastic starting point for all the excursions I wanted to do.

The room is a bit dated (especially the bathroom), but it is still alright. The restaurant was not very impressive, but it was a slow season, so maybe they up their game a bit at other times. Staff were kind (even if they forgot my request for a take-away breakfast on the one day I ordered it).

I'm a repeat guest in Heron Hotel and this goes back to early 2000. While I've experienced afew things every any other time,the Heron Court Hotel has maintained it's cleanliness and very polite staff even after several changes of management. The bar is average but this time round the kitchen has changed ,well Corona period changed everything everywhere in the world,so I'm sure it will improve to the original standard. Looking forward to more joyful returns.

I never got to swim in the morning because the pool was dirty (understandably,it was raining steadily for days before I landed).

Nice cosy affordable hotel, what you can expect for this price level. Very pleasant and accommodation staff. I will use this again. Clean, and safe. Several options for food. Seams like the locals like to have their lunches here. And someone chosen to have their wedding party here also. For me this says it all. Do as the local does

The breakfast was a bit simple but ok. I was missing eggs and bacon. Still I enjoy heading different Kenyan recipes for breakfast

The room is big, clean and comfortable. It is filled with bathroom supplies and has a safe for your valuables. The staff is so very nice and friendly and is always willing to help.

The food you can order at the restaurant is very expensive, takes very long to arrive and tastes not good. Furthermore, unlocking the room doesn’t work most of the time. So it takes a long time to get into your room and sometimes you even need to get some help.

Great room. Facilities are good and very spacious rooms. Considering the time of the year and the heat more complimentary bottles of water. I wished I had time to try the gym. It looks very well- kitted.

There was only one server during the morning service. So service was slow, tables had used dishes on them, and they also had to confirm guests for breakfast. Sloppy on the management side.

Comfy bed. Safe location

Not much around to feel safe to walk to. Charged more for massage than was expecting and by this time in a rush to leave with tour so no time to argue it. Only 1 cup in the room on arrival and no tea or coffee. We arrived late and needed food but unable to get room service. Shop was opened for us but just sold crisps and biscuits and wouldn't take card out of hours

Heron XO is a good value hotel with helpful, friendly staff and a good location

The hotel has suffered a little over the pandemic and some of the basics could do with a little care and attention; the electricity sockets are a little unreliable, as are some of the lights; the wifi is reasonable but not strong enough for zoom. This is still a very good option for a centrally located hotel, and I think that as business picks up these things will get better, but just at present they are worth bearing in mind.

Everything was just ok.

Opening my room was always a struggle. I reported it and nothing was done to address the problem. I dont know what was wrong between the door and the access card but it took me 5 minutes minimum every time i needed to get in to my room to open it.

If you made a request like to sort the mosquitos it took hours, if not days. The service isn’t great in either of the bars to be honest. Wifi not quite up to business travel standards. Room key system needs replaced.
