This was probably my favorite hotel that I ever stayed at. The staff were so kind and helpful but not overbearing. The grounds are beautiful and it's quite nice to just walk around and check out the scenery. The restaurants are delicious - probably the best three meals that I've had so far in Kenya were at the hotel. I highly recommend staying here.

I stayed twice on week apart. The first time I checked in, the room was rather dirty. I think this is a fluke though, because otherwise the room was spotless after housecleaning each day. There was also a mix up with a package drop off at the front desk but the staff were helpful in getting it sorted.

The hotel location is great, and the peaceful and green grounds were lovely to return to after a long day. The hotel is clearly well taken care of and the decor during the holidays was such a cozy touch. However, more than anything else, every single staff member made our stay an absolutely excellent and enjoyable one. Everyone was incredibly friendly, kind and helpful—at a level above other hotels we've experienced in Nairobi and even the rest of the world. It made for a warm and welcoming atmosphere and we wished we had stayed longer. A special shoutout must be given to Florence at reception for taking such good care of everything we needed and making us feel at home. She is a true gem.

The rooms themselves are a little outdated, but we found them comfortable and they had everything we needed.

The reception staff and porters were wonderful! Friendly and helpful. The hotel is lovely with beautiful gardens to relax in. The breakfast buffet has plenty of choice and was very good indeed. There were always taxis available which made getting about easy.

I didn’t like the fact that there was no option of inside dining in the evenings because there were a lot of mosquitoes outside. I think the meals were overpriced although they were very nice. The waiters were too over attentive but these are relatively minor issues compared with the good experience overall.

The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The pool area is super relaxing and lust, with great service. Breakfast area is bright and looks out on garden, with good selection. Very cool historic property, will definitely recommend!

The only negative I can think of is that I sent a single piece of laundry for express service, and it was not back by the specified time. It was returned to me shortly after, but had not been washed. Not the end of the world.

The hotel was central location, staff were very helpful and respectful and friendly , eager to help. the staff at reception were very helpful , they gave us very good advice on local markets and cash points , booked our taxis , printed our flight e - tickets , exchanged dollars to local currency , they allowed us to use the facilities for the day after check out as our flight was in the night , we had food at the restaurant before our flight which was excellent .

An oasis in the heart of the city! We didn't even have a full night here (had to leave for an early morning flight) but the hours we spent at the hotel were relaxing and rejuvenating after staying in more basic accommodations throughout our trip. The grounds are gorgeous, full of beautiful plants and flowers, and there's even a short "nature walk" in the form of a paved path through the vegetation. There are several restaurants on site, and the food was very good. The gift shop has some great and fairly priced options, and postcards can be sent directly from the reception desk. The level of security was appreciated without being off-putting. All of the small touches made this brief stay very pleasant!

Staff were excellent esp. the manager who was very helpful in changing our room when requested. Hotel is excellent, great location and great facilities. Staff are amazingly helpful and go above and beyond to help you in every way that they can.

Main restaurant was closed was close the week we were there due to a major conference and tennis event. A hotel of this type should have separate dining facilities for conference or at least advise client in advance that the main restaurant was closed.

Fantastic garden and swimming pool, very quiet and calm environment in an otherwise very busy city. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant in the garden is the perfect place for a drink after a busy day.

Meals in the restaurant are quite expensive compared to other restaurants in the neighbourhood.

the grounds and facilities are excellent the staff all went the extra mile we arrived very early and the receptionist arranged an early check in which was a life saver the hotel arranged a driver to collect us from the airport, Stanley was our driver and we asked for him for all our trips. He was very reliable and safe. We recommend that you use him gorgeous coffee

dining around the pool at night was very dark and seeing what you were eating was difficult the evening service was quite slow

A beautiful place in the middle of the city. History and photographs on the walls were lovely to see. Staff were very kind. They accidently overcharged me for a taxi but were very quick to call and tell me (I hadn't noticed) and to refund the overcharge. The hotel has a lovely feel to it and it's easy to relax there. Thank you!

Drinks are a little expensive but very good quality (as was the food!) so not so bad.
