The rooms are stylish, big and of high standards. WiFi is great and the rooms are clean. It’s great that there is a fridge. The bathrooms are great with very good quality toiletries. Great running hot water and very roomy. The rooms seem soundproof which is great. We had a view of the stadium of light and the carpark and the view of the sunrise in the morning was incredible. The staff are very willing to help if you need anything, they are approachable, knowledgeable and friendly. We had breakfast and it was amazing! 10/10 to the chef!!! I highly recommend this hotel for all ages and all occasions.

The rooms are very hot and after a shower they are extremely stuffy. Windows do not open. I spotted a room service lady and she gave me a wedge to open the door slightly to let air in the room. A member of staff also gave me a fan to circulate the air in the room. The carpets are heavily stained. It’s understandable but makes the rooms look dirty. Not enough tea, coffee ect left and the bin bags are too flimsy. The corridors are very hot and I don’t think it is necessary to be that hot.

The staff at the Hiton Garden were exceptional . With Jamie one of the night Managers being absolutely fantastic and Niamh in the restaurant always providing excellent customer service.

I feel.the energy coming from the kitchen did not match the rest of the hotel staff. During my stay the soup of the day became the soup of everyday. This soup choice was not to my liking and it was on every single day. In the cold wintery Weather sometimes people enjoy soup to warm through but rhe choice was not there. Rather Annoying!!! Also one morning I ordered and omelette and when it arrived it looked awful barely cooked and had a strange smell. I sent it back, wasn't offered another or received an apology. I witnessed the same happen with a customer who had ordered poached eggs earlier in the week

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. What impressed me the most was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The reception team went above and beyond to assist me, especially when I needed a taxi. Despite the taxi booking system requiring a reference phone number, they used the hotel’s number, making the process hassle-free for me. The hotel's location is ideal—close to the Stadium of Light and not far from the station. The restaurant also served a delicious dinner meal, adding to the positive experience. Additionally, I accidentally left my bag at the hotel lobby, and the reception promptly took care of it, ensuring it was safe until I returned. Their professionalism and attention to detail made my stay much more comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel for its exceptional customer service, convenient location, and welcoming atmosphere.

Wow Hilton Garden Sunderland just Wow. Every single.member of staff from.housekeeping to restaurant to.reception to bar and security and hopefully I havemt missed anyone. Absolutely superb. A couple.of things happened during my stay. I lost my mobile phone. And every member of staff who was there at the time. Asked me everyrime I passed them.. " have you got it yet " and when I actually did they were genuinely happy. Another occasion I wasn't feeling well.and got.a Jack.Daniels.to help my chest and the night manager immediately said " would you.like.me.to. get.you some honey it may help" I.just thought this was customer.service on another level. Well.done all.of.you. you should be proud of your selves because I certainly am

Spacious bar and restaurant, reception/lounge area and corridors, good lifts, parking 100 yards from hotel, good drop off/pick up area right in front of hotel. Easy walking distance into city (central city hotels don't have parking) and 5 mins walk to nearest metro station (St Peter's), good size rooms, comfy beds, very friendly, welcoming staff, ease of check-in/check out.

Only one very minor complaint! Please supply spoons (even if plastic!) with hospitality tray. Very difficult to remove teabags with a thin wooden stirring stick, evidenced by all the teabag-sized stains on the carpet around the waste bin area.

Check in and check out were fast, friendly, and easy, and I was super impressed that, despite turning up several hours early, I was able to go to my room straight away. Staff were personable, smart, and helpful, and the room was warm, clean, and had a great view of the Stadium of Light. The restaurant had a great selection of very well prepared and presented dishes for dinner, and the breakfast buffet was kept constantly refreshed and had a huge selection of dishes to choose from. The restaurant layout is very nice and spacious, too, with good separation between it and the other bar and communal areas.

The only slight negative (very slight) was that some of the younger staff could do with a little more training on checking tables in a timely fashion during dinner service, and on presentation e.g. I asked for a pot of Earl Grey tea which, when it came, had no spoon with it and no sugar/sweeteners. Other than that, every single member of staff was a pleasure to interact with and couldn't do enough to make our visit enjoyable.

Clean, comfortable room on the ground floor as requested. Breakfast was served with a stressed smile, the reception and restaurant staff were very pleasant, friendly and accommodating, the beauty of this hotel is it is in a very convenient location to the Stadium of Light (just what you need for a travelling disabled football supporter).

Breakfast was unusually hectic due to the amount of people turning up at the same time (our mistake) some food was unavailable, staff appeared to be run off their feet trying to meet demand, we were seated at a table that had not been prepared, I had to ask for it to be cleaned.

Ideal location for my daughter's graduation at the stadium of light. Friendly staff greets you on arrival. Could not have done more for us during our stay. Quick check in and departure. Rooms spacious, clean and tidy and the room we stayed in had massive single beds. They felt more like doubles 😁 Made for a very comfortable stay overnight. And OMG... the TV was massive. It was like a mini cinema in your room 😂 We stayed in room 25 on the ground floor.

Perhaps better parking as only two spaces for disabled outside the hotel. Although can't complain as free parking was available a short distance away. Also to be told where to park before you get to the hotel as we had to stop and go to reception and ask before finding a parking space.

initially when tried to book cost of room was reasonable price but when returned to book cost of roomed gone up from £85 to £129. this stopped me from booking with you and once my event was confirmed i was going to book with premier inn as this was £69 per night. fortunately i rechecked 1 week later and the price of the room had dropped from £129 to £85. if i had not double checked then you would have lost custom. the room i gave as good - not excellent as it was on a busy road and i could hear the noisy traffic which did impact on my sleep. in the morning a set of road works had been set up - and i wonder if this was why the price had dropped back down again as i am sure that the Hilton would have been informed of the pending roadworks? we booked this location as it was close to the venue we were attending but if it wasn't i probably would have looked elsewhere.

Everything was very smooth, breakfast well prepared and I can only recommend everyone to try one of the tasty steaks in Karbon Grill. The personnel is very friendly and keen to help with everything. I also highly value that the room temperature was perfectly fine for me, as this is not always the case.

Maybe larger bed would suit me better, but cannot blame the hotel for my genetics (6 feet). Also larger bins in (bath)room would be more convenient, as they clean rooms every 3rd day of the stay (can be asked to clean sooner, but I can live with full bin and instead put the rubbish into some bag).
