The location was convenient to the Metro, to shopping malls, to the food street. The room was quiet. The room has everything that you need: safe, chair, wifi, water kettle, comfortable bed. The bedroom is clean. The breakfast is fair.

Breakfast was not fully set up at 7am . The bathroom was showing wear/tear. The portion of the wall in the bedroom show sign of 'water damage' (bubbled wall). The structures/houses on the street where the hotel is located are a bit run down.

Excellent location - close to restaurants, nightlife, malls and metro. Lovely oasis in the middle of a very busy area. Pool was a great place to relax and cool down.

From mid afternoon the lovely relaxing ambience of the pool ends when the very loud music is put on. such a shame as the pool area when it is quiet up until mid afternoon is such a wonderful escape from the busy mayhem of KL.

Excellent location in the heart of Bukit Bintang area. Lovely big room and above all excellent comfortable pillows for peaceful sleep. Pool area was nice with great views.

Check in was delayed by over an hour as the room wasn't ready! The hotel is 4 star but rooms are very dated, the tiles in bathroom were cracked and moved everytime you stepped on them. For the price, the hotel feel didn't match up.

We couldn't have picked a better spot for our budget. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Bathroom was really nice with a large shower and plenty of space for 2 people. The staff at the hotel was super friendly at all times, no matter what time of the day. We spent 2 afternoons on the rooftop bar/swimming pool area which has great views towards Bukit Bintang. The bar is a bit expensive but they do great happy hour deals before 8pm so get up there a bit earlier. We didn't have breakfast included in our booking but decided a few morning to pay for breakfast at the hotel and it was decent buffet style food with a mix of western and Malay options.

Everything was really good in our opinion. If we had to say something that could be improved it is the speed of the lifts, but this is really nit-picking as we were never in a hurry so it didn't bother us.

Really nice location, the staff were very friendly and nice. The breakfast had variety and many local dishes, the staff that was working there during the breakfast were very kind and friendly. The room had nice view, you could see the Petronas too from where we stayed. Location was convenient as it was right beside Bukit Bintang that was a popular location and was full of people every day and night. There is a local restaurant right in front of the hotel that is 24 hours open so it is safe to return to the hotel from that road.

There is dark alley with sketchy people nearby but you can avoid it by returning home from Bukit Bintang from the other way, from the main road.

I had a lovely stay, everything was clean, and the theme of the hotel was nice and well done. All the staff were lovely and helpful. The location is very convenient, near public transport, restaraunts and major shopping centres. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others.

When I first arrived at the hotel (it was very late at night) there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the bathroom (not the room itself). I was tired after a long flight so I decided to just go to sleep since the smell wasn't in the room itself and let them know the next day. But when I woke up the next morning, the smell was gone and I never had any issues again. I guess that means they have good ventilation, can't complain! Apart from that, the room and bathroom were very clean.

A very good quality boutique hotel at a very good location. Our triple room has a partial view to the petronas twin tower which is awesome! The room and bathroom were spacious for the three of us. Housekeeping was a little late, came at late afternoon almost evening when we were taking a rest, but not a big issue, he was very friendly. All good for the price paid!

I knew there was a free welcome drink for each guest so I asked the receptionist but was kindly rejected because he was alone at the counter. The guests before us had theirs though, so that felt a little unfair but that's fine. At least his tone was soft when rejecting.

The Journal is in an ideal location - just a quick walk to all that Bukit Bintang has to offer. We loved the view, the helpful staff, the cleanliness and the facilities. This hotel surpassed our expectations and we have recommended it to friends already.

The only thing we missed was information about what the hotel offered. There was no folder or sheet in the room with basic information about laundry, checkout times, cleaning times and all those basics often found in hotel rooms.
