New hotel with nice interior decor. Buffet breakfast has a wide selection of food. Quality of food is very good. Restaurant and concierge staff were very friendly and helpful.

Room was dusty.The glass shelf above the coffee making cabinet, the rail for hanging clothes in the wardrobe and the iron were very dusty. House keeping didn’t do a thorough job in cleaning it. About time to change the bath towels. Changing colour to yellowish and threads are coming off. For a 5 star rated hotel this is kind of unacceptable.

I really like the decor. The breakfast lounge is extra spacious and beautiful. This hotel is strategically located within the tourism sector of Zoo Melaka and the nearby Alligator Farm etc . Also all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Recommended place!

The rooms were very comfortable - large beds, adjustable aircon, quiet along one particular wing of the hotel. Housekeeping staff was very accommodating regarding our requests for more water and towels everyday. Even our room extension was waived because of our situation. Assistant Manager was very friendly, personable and helpful, taking time to get to know us, sorting out our issues patiently and so willing to make amends. We also liked the Munch which served decent food which I was comfortable eating for a few days in a row when we didn’t want to drive into Melaka. The gym is small but sufficient for our needs.

The first room we were assigned to was along one end of the hotel which had music streaming in the whole night from the fire escape and could be heard in our room. For some reason the speakers at every level could not be turned off. The ‘makeup room’ button and telephone did not work so we had to track down to the reception whenever we wanted anything. On 2 occasions our room was not made up after 5pm and 8pm respectively. Front desk staff, while very pleasant, were not well-trained and this led to minor miscommunications.

The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. 5 stars vibe. Cleanliness were there especially the common space eg. toilet. Room was clean too, just a little old; some parts of the tv cabinet have fallen off were not repaired (it didn’t very much bothered us). Hair dryer provided. Average sound proofing - could hear the opposite neighbor coming in and out of their hotel room (the beep). We didn’t use the swimming pool and gym but we gave it a visit during check out. Small pool; ideal for kids. Spa was not ready yet but a good touch to have it (something I would go for). We booked this place because it was the nearest to Stadium Hang Jebat instead of going into town (40 mins). Some eateries around 10 mins drive away. The hotel buffet spread was good.

Pillows. The bed was comfortable but not the pillows. 4 pillows provided for our king bed but it was soft. However, this is personal preference as some other people prefer soft pillows.

Customer service at the best. Front counter ,Bell boy and Kitchen conter people also has the best PR communication. Breakfast was so delicious and have many varieties. Room was very comfortable. Air cond was so cool. Kettle and iron also at the best function. Parking was so easy. My room window face with Metra Square Hotel. Total of 4 pillow given . Pillow and bed was very comfortable. The best was the bed can accomodate 4 people (2 adult and 2 kids).

So many dust inside the cupboard and pathway towards the lift. Need to do a Major Vacuum for carpet inside the entire hotel or remove all carpets. No one took the dinner plates that was placed outside the room after we finished dinner inside room.

The facility is great, clean and of high standards.

There is no human touch, everything has to be done by system. I made a mistake in booking the dates, instead of booking on day of arrival I booked for the following day. The hotel couldn't change the booking, they said the rooms are available but must be changed in Booking.com system. The Booking.com system did not allow to change. Hence I had to stay in the area for another night and incurred additional cost, whilst the hotel had vacant rooms and the management could just move the date. The learning is, always make sure you can do things electronically, if you have to face the human, you can rest assured you will face a disaster.

Staff are very good. The breakfast very nice. The room was very clean and suitable for disabled ♿.

The bed, pillows and quilt! So comfy. I had a full body massage a few days before and still felt the post massage body ache but I slept like a baby. The beautifully designed restaurant and wide range of foods and beverages for the breakfast buffet. Love it! Clean bathroom, good water pressure, bath tub. Spacious room. Nice interior. New hotel - thick carpet. I like the location because it is near the Ayer Keroh toll exit and my friends' house at Batu Berendam but not too far from the city centre. Note: I got around by my own car, not by public transport.

A few staff on duty on my first day were not attentive and not as hospitable as they should particularly on the night shift. I asked about the iron board because I could not find it in the room. He could just explain the exact location in detail so I know which area I overlooked. TV channels were not working as per direction written on the given guide and limited to TV1, TV3 and a few more channels. Failed to bluetooth for the second time. I did not have any issues with car parking because I stayed for one night on Friday, not the weekend.

The facilities within and surrounding the Ames Hotel

The cleaning staff are dominated by 100% male cleaning staff directly imported from India. Their cleaning mentalities are different from our cleaning mentality. For many consecutive days, when I saw the Indian male staff who cleaned the bathroom/toilet, he would just use those already used bath towels and use them to mop the wet bathroom floors. I believe this is not very hygienic at all even though all used bathroom towels are washed in their laundry room, and yet the wet bathroom floors are truly dirty. Perhaps they have not been taught about hygiene at all.

Hotel looks very refined. Ambience and interior decoration gives a very luxurious atmosphere. Breakfast buffet was delicious, and plenty of options ranging from local, western and eastern.

I parked my car at the multilevel parking basement where the atmosphere feels very dodgy and unsafe. There were glass panels left for storage there and there are work in progress that made some of the parking area inaccessible. Our room had a dirty bedsheet in one of the beds. However after informing the reception, they were quick to replace the sheets. Good job
