Loved loved loved this place! Abosulty stunning and above and beyond in terms of customer service and facilities! There was always something to do....you never even need to leave the resort. There was a show or 2 every night and plenty of surprise activities/events during the day. Our concierge (Roberto) and the pool concierge (Alex) and server's (Daniel and Elliot) took amazing care of us! We felt so spoiled and blessed during our stay...we were sad to leave.

The staff were great. It was really important to us that the staff were welcoming to our dog. They were great! We will definitely go back.

The only thing we didn’t like was how a few of the staff tried to push the agm member package on us. We said no. We wished they didn’t continue to ask.

I can not say enough wonderful and amazing things about Secrets Maroma and Secrets overall . I could spend all day singing the praises of Maroma and Secrets Akumal but I am going to try to keep in short and to the point about my most recent trip to Maroma April 13th-19th . I have been going to Secrets since 2016 , my 1st 5 trips were to Akumal ( amazing too much to write) The past 3 I have decided to go to Maroma . They are pretty much both on the same level in all areas, its really a matter of personal preference and choice. For me now that I have been to Akumal , I just like being a bit closer to airport. So I have been going to Maroma. The rooms, service food are amazing at both resorts. I do like the gym and spa layout a bit better at Akumal , it’s a little newer and brighter. I am really into the going to the Spa and Gym , but they are both excellent. The treatments themselves were amazing. Akumal is just a bit nicer and newer the actually gym and Spa and the beach at Maroma is more of a classic Caribbean beach so it really depends what you want out of the trip. Neither resort will fail you as far as Service, Food and amazing grounds and rooms. Definitely go Preferred at both resorts , its worth the extra money, way to go, Definitely do a little hut bed at Maroma for day , I would like to mention a few staff members who made the experience even more amazing . Omar in preferred club check in and lounge for patiently organizing my requests for Bali beds and helping me extend my stay , also Antony in the entertainment team , was so wonderful and nice , extremely upbeat who was organizing and making Volley Ball fun and Eliezer and Julio at the Preferred Beach who really made the day at the beach. Cant wait to return for Thanksgiving 2022 and looking forward to Moxche at the end of May for my Birthday !!

I think its time for Maroma to perhaps redo the gym and make it more like Akumal

WOW what an incredible hotel. 😍😍 From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were amazed with how fantastic this hotel is from the incredible food in every restaurant, the amazing friendly staff in every single department and the gorgeous decor, rooms, the pool the beach and beyond. We’d like to give a special thanks to the incredible staff that made our trip so special!! Our concierge Miguel was absolutely wonderful, he really made our trip so fantastic and made sure we had everything we needed and we were so thankful! The waiters/bar staff were all amazing, we had great service from Daniel, Victor, Manuel, Pedro and so many more, they were friendly and always made the best drinks! In the entertainment team: Samuel who made our trip so much fun every single day! Paulina who was so kind, friendly and always was so happy! Tonny for the fantastic Zumba and fun around the pool! Augusto for the fabulous dance lessons and also Daniela and Regina. Every single member of staff around the hotel (security, reception, cleaners, gardeners and more) were so friendly and would make us feel so welcome, and thank you to Daniel in the reception concierge team for always welcoming us when we returned from a day out! Some tips below for those planning a trip: Food: every restaurant is absolutely incredible, our favourite was the Japanese and the french. Don’t miss out on the chefs table (book 24hr in advance) and also if you want a romantic experience without the price tag, do the onyx dinner experience which is a poolside table at dinner with food from either the seafood or steak restaurants you just have to purchase a bottle of wine (cheapest is $70). I had the best sushi and the best steaks in this hotel! Drinks: the selection of drinks is amazing and is all top quality, we loved the mango tango, dirty banana, mudslide, espresso martinis, pina coladas, bi polars and of course the mini beer shots, scooby doos and pink lady.

The property was very nice and well maintained. Staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. Food and drinks were very tasty. Beach was beautiful, pool was perfect. Shows and activities were great.

I didn’t like the sales pitch disguised as a breakfast with the vip staff for a tour of the property the day after you arrive. My partner and I both had stomach issues the whole trip from the food. Again all the food was tasty and prepared well but still didn’t sit well with us. Especially the last night after my lamb dinner. I was sick all night.

We liked our concierge- Roberto. He went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. Excellent employee and should be recognized for his great customer service.

I didn’t not like the staff trying to up sell us the moment we arrive. We hadn’t even seen the campus or our room before we were asked about signing up for a membership for all of the resort properties. The point of a vacation is to relax. This was a turn off for me.

Great location south of Cancun. Beautiful large beach. The grounds are extremely well cared for, and the food was some of the best we’ve experienced at a Secrets. The entertainment is fun and plentiful, and, as always, the service of all Secrets employees is simply superb! Special kudos to Miguel and Esther (Bldg. 24 concierge), Edy and Bramdon (pool concierge), Balbina (pool server), Yamilet (World Market buffet), Hernando (baggage), Antonio (Portofino), Hilario (Seaside).

Our only negative is the danger of the slope of the pools when entering and exiting - you MUST use handrails

extremely disappointed that after changing the dates and having manager confirm our new day later(missed flight and they lost our bags) that I was still charged for that night. we even paid a large amount to stay extra 2 days because we couldn’t enjoy the food without our luggage. Manger was completely unfriendly, unprofessional and wouldn’t even have the decency to speak with us. He should have been up front from the start about the date change. I spoke with them on Booking.com and direct email. booking.com would not let me revise the reservation. I will probably never use this booking site again nor will I recommend.
